gary both the center hole where six goes and the hole to the right in your picture are plugged ill get pictures tommorow and post up thanks for the help everyone

also there is a hex shaped plug to the center of the oil filter hole should that also be removed i cant seem to find a clear pic.

Yes it runs and surprising well considering the missing components i have put about 2500 on it since i bought it and after looking at it today i have no idea how. Thanks for the info.

Ok folks I was working on my 84 today and happened to notice a few things missing when i went to change the oil. Namly parts 1-7 on the oil filter parts diagram. The cover and filter and all related parts are missing. there is a plug siliconed to the hole in the block and the return hole also has a plug in it. any idea why anybody would do this and any suggestions for putting it back together. Thanks in advance.
