  1. darn we must have picked a decent date. it's really hard to pick dates for the big one because so many factors come to play like the weather, other rallies, back to school times, etc. we don't have much rain here then, maybe in and out scattered thunder storms. great riding weather. this year it was cool in july. must be global warming. :clap2:
  2. hey group, lewis and alot of others give st. jude their all this trip is a must do. it is quite a place to see, and we have a plaque for the venture riders down there. we eat lunch at the flying j and then head for st. jude. if you have never been there before it's a real experience. most of us make it a one day trip. the place is so kid oriented. you would never know it was a hospital. awesome.
  3. the official dates for the 2015 rally are july 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd 2015 this will leave the weekend on both ends for folks to travel to and from.
  4. happy birthday lewis :clap2:
  5. heres where we stand on the rally. location will be st. charles ,mo.. i will be hosting, freebird will be cohosting, so far i have picked part of my committee. b2 mom and dad, and eusa 1, they will be handling registration. the dates will be near the end of july. i'm working with don on that. i have picked 2 host motels and a campground that we have used before. i will be needing several more on my committee to handle t-shirts and reservations. we have alot to do and almost 10 months to do it., so bear with me it will all fall into place. i'm open to sensible ideas from all you folks so we can make this a most enjoyable meet. right now i need some one to do t-shirts and name tags. any one got experience with this. i have some one in mind who i will contact. i am expecting a really big turnout so we will have it covered, lots of over flow motels and plenty of room for the last meal. we will have the calender up soon along with registration so we can start getting a count. i will keep you all updated so every one knows whats going on.
  6. hey larry, i think you need some one to test this new equipment. give me a call and i will break it in for you. can't wait to see it in real.
  7. heading home from eureka springs today, and i have several boxes of aftermarket parts for my ruckus waiting. i ordered a heavy rear shock, a fork upgrade spring set, and forward pegs.been on the net this weekend in eureka springs checking out engine swaps to a bigger motor and drive train. more to come later.
  8. no wonder we almost got kicked out of mcdonalds.
  9. la pryor came down from springfield this morning to say hello. he stayed for seveal hours and chewed the fat with me. he looks real good and quit smoking and drinking beer. he still has some health problems and his wife is taking good care of him. we were all so glad to see him, and that he is still driving his sports car all over. he can't ride his bike anymore but he sure loves that sports car. i really enjoyed his visit.
  10. yep, buddy beat both of us today. great photo of b2 and me, we do look like brothers from a different mom. other than a couple of showers, the weather here has been fantastic.
  11. i,m just sitting here waiting for b2 dad to hit mcdonalds again this morning. they may have the cops waiting for us. we have been having a great time. thanks to buddy for doing this meet again. and thanks to b2 mom for bringing the old fart with her.
  12. having a great time here and a great turnout. i do have a full time job here baby sitting b2 dad. thought we were going to get kicked out of mcdonalds this morning. i can't take him anywhere. we had a ball all morning roadracing the b2s. he never would get out of the way so i could pass him. true story a harley passed him. :rotf:got to love the guy we always have a good time together. we are even invited back to mcdonalds in the morning. snarley bill
  13. okay whats the big secret. you can't trust them two. never know what their up to. lol. bill
  14. thats great lewis, you still have time to celebrate in eureka springs next week. we will even throw you a retirement party saturday night.
  15. i finally got a good morning to take my new ruckus for a shakedown cruise. i left at 4:30 am and stopped for breakfast at hardys. on the way home i hit a good straitaway. with no traffic and reamed it out. it hit an incredible 43 mph even with my 250 lb. butt on it and a full tank of gas. needless to say i was impressed. i haven't got the nerve to ride it in daylight cuz someone i know might see me. when i got home i rolled it back into my shop and stripped it down and put my new tiny tach on it. this is a must when you start to tune the cvt tranny for more speed. the tach works great. i'm getting ready to go shopping for a new high performance rear shock. i figured i would take care of the few faults in the design before i get into the racing goodies. more exciting things to come. stay tuned. don't laugh it was this or model trains. now would'nt i look rediculous going down the street on a model train. eat your heart out b2 dad. ps the tiny tach was picked to keep weight to a minimum. snarley bill
  16. i'm planning on being there linda has never been there. bill
  17. whats the question marks for. what did ya buy?
  18. rain or shine we will be there. just haven't decided whether or not to bring the bike. i bought a new trailer and set it up to haul the bike and i want to try it out. se you all there.
  19. aha, your checking ebay already. could it be your getting the bug? I do need a vice president for the ruckus gang I am starting. you even get a pink leather jacket. the motto on the back will say (don't we look like a- holes). seriously, I love this little scoot it's going to be a fun build and good around town transportation. over 100 mpg. think im going to sell my majesty. it only gets 57 mpg. anyone want a majesty?
  20. no they don't make the big ruckus any more. it was a 250. i can get a 150 engine for this but that would be to easy. i want to see what i can get out of this little motor. it's kind of a challenge just to see what i can get out of it. it really has surprising acceleration and a top speed of about 41 mph. they are getting 60 mph out of them with some modifying. i just want to be able to cruise at 50 mph to start. i'm going to go hog wild on the custom looks this winter. a turbo and a touch of nitros may be the ticket. lol. maybe down the road i will go with a big motor warmed over but than it would be illegal with no license. i may buy one for linda and trike it out. in mo., no licence is required but you can't go on the highway. its just a fun project to keep me busy this winter. who knows bonneville may be over the horizen.
  21. sure going to miss you in ar.. your the only one i can communicate with. we can talk for hours and not here a word we are saying. linda keeps telling me to get a hearing aid , and i tell her huh is alot cheaper.
  22. it was a joke. i sat on a can am and bought a ruckus. although a can am could get addictive if you sit on it to long.
  23. well i was messing around on the net. yesterday and got the bug again. went to st. charles motor sports and sat on a new 1300 loaded can am. it fit like a glove. i did'nt care much for the color but i made a deal anyway. i just picked up my new 2014 honda ruckus this morning. this is the kind of things you do when you get old. it's my new winter project. got to build something for myself after finishing my buddies cushman. with 49 cc's. i should be safe out there. no license required. but it needs a little motor work to perk it up. should run okay when i get done. b2 dad ain't got nothin on me. i may bring it to arkansas and let him ride it. :rotf: snarley bill
