now thats what i'm talking about. it is really cool. every one in a family could ride it, it's very useful, and something most people would'nt think of buying. i would'nt buy one, but i would definately buy a chance on it for my camper.

okay group heres whole thing in a nut shell. the main idea of the grand prize, is like don said. it gets front money for events like the international and any thing else that may arise. we have to come up with a prize that almost any one would like to have or could use. i probably don't stay in a motel more than 3 days a year. i'm not going to try to win some gas. throw something really neat out there and i will buy a ticket in a minute. i would buy a ticket in a minute if i had a chance to win a gps, laptop, a big flat screen tv, or a top of the line mountain bike etc. ive got all these, but new ones would be nice. i'm just using what i would do as an example. how about a dennis kirk gift card. keep the ideas coming. bill

hey folks, you all are doing great. the calender is filling up fast. for those of you who are planning on coming please help us out and sign in on the calender. it sure helps us to get a rough idea how big this is going to be. it is going to be an event to remember. i will get the hotels up this weekend. i have blocks with special rates for our group in two of the 3 motels. as soon as i post the motels, i am going to take week off cuz me and my truck are almost out of gas.

one thing for all you folks to remember, is you don't have to attend to buy tickets for the grand prize. i'm pretty sure all members can buy chances. pattis suggestion about the folks donating something for an after dinner drawing is great . it was alot of fun at the 09 rally. i think squidley did the honors on the drawing. he can do that again next year if he is there. the stuff we had was not neccesarily motorcycle related. we had alot of neat frilly stuff for the gals. we will do this again. so start thinking of something to bring. it don't have to be expensive. i think the big prize should be bike related and something most folks would have a use for. it has to be something really neat to get folks to buy tickets. it's a man thing i guess. we just like neat toys. at least i do. the official location for the last dinner and drawing is going to be the pavillion at lake side park. i have been busting my butt trying to reserve it . it is so new they haven't got the details on it yet. i have been every where this week checking other facilities out, but have found nothing to compare. it is absolutely awesome. if it cost to much over budget i don't care. i will cover the difference.

there is a Hampton inn right down from the super 8 on the outer road on I-70.
-
i will check. i think there might be one close to the others. bill

buddy, the first motel, is red roof inn. the second is super 8 right accross the highway. the third and top of the line is a mile down the highway, comfort suites. you can check them out on line in st. charles. as soon as i have time to get on my good computer i will list all the details under rides and rallies. there are plenty of other motels in that area if we need more space. i may be wrong, but i think this meet is going to be a big one. i want to have plenty of room to cover all the folks that attend, including the last meal and get together. i don't want to worry about having to many people show up. we will have it covered. as soon as we start registration we can watch our count. right now if anyone is thinking about attending, get on the calender. if not sure rsvp on the calender. this will give us an idea of what to expect. you can always remove your name if you can't make it for some reason. thanks bill

i have three rally motels lined up in a price range for every one. they are in an easy to find location, right on i-70, and surrounded by restaurants. i will list all the details under rides and rallies, shortly. i,m working on a place for the last meal now at lakeside park. also camping will be at 370 lakeside park, st. peters. you can go on line and make reservations. all the campsites are excellant and flat, with full hookups. the online photos are old. it is a beautiful place. i'm going to camp there when i get back from st. jude. we camp there ll the time. thats the latest. bill

alot of folks who put on meets depend on the calender to get a head count for attendance. they need this to figure food, lodging, space, and many other things. for those who don't know about the calender. it is very easy to use. just click on calender pick the date and it will walk you through. if your not sure if you are going to attend, you can rsvp. just think about it this way if you were putting on a meet and eat at your home, which i have done several times. you need to know how many people to expect. what if only 10 people get on the calender and 200 show up. happens all the time.

think i will start a new thread about the calender.

the arch is about 630 feet wide at the base. did you know it's as tall as it is wide. i think there have been several small planes fly through the arch. big fine when they catch you. had one person skydive onto the top of the arch. the wind caught his chute and he slid down one leg to his death. it is a sight to see. when they built it the legs did'nt meet at the top. when they got ready to put the last section in, it would'nt fit. they had to do some jacking to get it in place. :2133:it is an engineering masterpiece.

so you actually think that 1rst gen could out run my ruckus.

the international rally is offcially on the calender. please sign in as soon as you decide to attend. i will post motels very soon. since st. charles is a major tourist town it is important that you make motel reservations as soon as possible. i will post them shortly. i am working on block rates for the venture riders. bill

i kind of like trains myself. no trains near the camp ground.
-
the photos are several years old. no flooding unless we have a big flood on the mississippi river it woild have to be a big one. i camp there all the time it is really a nice place. no other camp grounds around. there is one in town but it is kind of well used. st. peters has spent millions of dollars on this camp ground over the last several years.

i know there are folks that may not be happy with the dates, but i'm glad we are getting such great responce. keep it coming we are looking forward to seeing you all. we will do our very best to make this the best meet ever.
