yeppers, the belly pan, and led's are a must. like a volt meter, oil pressure gauge, chrome rocker covers, sirius radio, race tech fork mod, and on and on. they took care of us wingers when it comes to the accessory market.

i have the honda wings, and they work great and look factory. i took off the bottom deflectors. they hit my legs when i had my feet on the floor boards. they really deflect the wind. also put the foam in the fork tunnel. the honda wings are ultra high dollar, but i lucked out and found a set on ebay dealer overstock. got a bargain. i also got the honda passenger arm rests.the boss loves them and they look factory. they are rediculously expensive. got a bargain on them on ebay.

tom, nice bike. you did good decking it out.:clap2:

next time i ride i'm going to try a u turn.

glad you got your new wing, and got to see raymond to boot. give us more details. we will help you spend your money on goodies. lots of them out there. www.directlineparts.com. has a july the 4th sale going on. they own the wing site.

that works great. my seat smells much better.

here's two things i have noticed about my sirius radios. the one in my truck i wired direct to the radio with the optional antenna hook up. i was getting fade out in certain areas with large power lines. on my v-star the radio would fade in alot of curves. i finally figured what was causing it was since my antenna is mounted on the brake reseroir, and was already not perpendicular to the road, when i lean the antenna was losing the satilite signal at the extreme lean angle. the one on my wing works fine cuz the bars are flatter.

Has any one tried the Boostaroo Revolution Amplifer
Snarley Bill replied to a topic in Watering Hole
i have a boosteroo on my v-star 1300. i piggy backed it on another small amp with a volume control to power up my sirius radio through my head phones. i piggy backed my amp with the boosteroo to get a little more volume, since i am hard of hearing. the whole deal works great. i bought some small portable speakers from radio shack to plug in when i go camping so i will have sirius at the camp site. haven't tried them yet. -
i could go that route someday. not into trikes to much. i saw a wing on the i-70 sunday coming at me with the front end conversion alone. really looked silly. with the four wheel conversion it would have looked more balanced. awful pricey. the main reason i will quit riding is when i can't get my leg over the seat to mount it. it gets harder every day, so a trike would be no help at all. may have to go with a burgman or silver wing down the road.
-
joe, sounds like he charged you list on the tire and the stem. the wing stems aren't cheap. mounting cost is not out of line if it was balanced. we only have one dealer in our area that has tire sales on bike tires, thats cuz he sells over the internet too. the list price on tires is unbelievable. i buy all mine on the net. if the dealer has an attitude that is another story. can't handle a business with an attitude. i got run out of a big bike dealer here in st. charles, and was told not to come back. he had the worlds worst attitude.

tip on wing rear tire rearend and wheel
Snarley Bill replied to Snarley Bill's topic in Honda Goldwing Tech Talk
tom, i know they have a pile of them. make them an offer on one. they can't legally sell any of the parts as new so the balls in your court. good luck with your new ride. bill -
don't even want to take sides on this one but joe, they have you by the gonads. this is why i do most all my own work. even though your a good buddy heres the facts. i had a small business and overhead broke me. whether you know it or not alot of these folks are hanging on to their business by a thread. i don't know how some of them stay alive. every one wants a freebee. it's hard to compete with folks that are so big they can give stuff away. i actually had people come in and show me discount catalogs and demand i beat the price. i just could'nt cuz i could'nt buy 300 on a special price from the manufacturer. taxes are taxes. the dealer has no say so over that. owning your own business is the pits. take it from one who knows. everyone is trying to get your money.

if you have an 1800 wing and need a new rear tire. check ebay i bought a brand new wheel and tire mounted and balanced, new swingarm, rear end, and disc with caliper for $ 227.00 plus shipping. i calculated the total new cost at over $3000.00. russleville honda does trike conversions and have a pile of them all the time. tom, you may want to pick one up when you get your bike. it gives you a brand new tire and wheel ready to mount when you need it.
-
hey tom, i'm as excited about your new wing as you are. tell jonathan down at russleville honda i said hello. i would'nt fly either, when i picked mine up. it was the 850 mile trip from hell going and coming with my trailer. did it in one day. i know your excited. you will enjoy it. :clap2: ps. double check your paper work. they put my address down wrong on the certificate of origin had everything right except they had my home state as ar.. could'nt get a title for a month. hell of a time getting it straightened out. read all the paper work twice. other wise great bunch down there.

i have my second dunlop on the rear. they aren't worth two hoots. i got a bargain on ebay new trike take off. needed an extra wheel so i could'nt pass it up. i'm running an avon venom on the front. the dunlops howl and slicker than snot in the rain. had my wing sideways twice. once in a slight drizzle and once on black ice.

that brings back old memories. i had a 1970 500 mach III, and my buddy had a 750. cool bikes.

i'm looking for one more winter project. may have to build one more bike. found what i was looking for for $350 dollars, almost delivered from oklahoma to my house. a few more details and i will close the deal. since i am a long time member of another forum and attend alot of their meets i figure i better be riding the right brand on their rides. so i have been hunting for a buildable prospect for the last year. the price is right so here we go again. i have already built several of these. anyone got an idea what it may be? the winner gets an all you can eat breakfast at hardies, or a check for ten dollars if your to far away. just name the brand not the model. snarley bill

the vision is a nice bike, but you better like it if you buy one. now the crossroads and crosscountry are another story. they are getting great reviews and aren't so far out. i would be willing to go with the air cooling cuz they are also oil cooled. the engine is basically the same design as the 1400 intruder engine. oil is sprayed on the bottom of the pistons and the bike is equipped with an oil cooler. the quality is impeccable on all the victories i have seen. i think polaris has got their s##t together. my wife asked me today if you go down to one bike what would you keep. i told her none of them. i would probably go for the crossroads. she said sorry i asked.
