just got a personal invite to the vogel meet from my good buddy lewis. this will be my third vogel, and it looks like we may be able to make it. lewis is always a great host.

i want to thank all that attended for making this meet a total success. i knew going in that this would be my last meet, and it was the best one ever. had many surprises like b2 dad bringing aussie annie, and quick step. jason, b2 mom and dads son, who is a b2 bomber pilot, and one of my hero's, also showed up with his family. my good friend la was there and looking great. i could go on and on about all my close friends that were present, and many new folks i met. you all made this weekend one of my best ever, and for that i thank you. i hope everyone had a great time, and the weather was great. yes i trailered my bike, and the trailer is now for sale. what a ride it has been. bill

friday we will probably leave the motel between 9am and 10 am and go eat breakfast. after breakfast we will go on a long ride. than back to the motel for dinner, and the evening get together at the motel on the deck in back overlooking the woods.

nothing happened in our area. when la left here yesterday i checked the radar and told him he better head for home fast. it was getting windy here and looking bad but we did'nt get much rain. i helped la put the top up on his car. i never dreamed there were storms like that coming. never seen weather like the weather the midwest has been getting this year.

i heard a horn beep in my driveway, and looked out and saw this white haired guy in a cool sports car. i thought it was a salesman of some sort. it was my good buddy la pryor. he drove all the way from springfield to visit. he looked great and was his same old wildhair. we had a few beers and chatted for several hours. he is planning on attending don's md and eureka springs. he will be caging it cuz he said he's not ready to ride just yet. he said he hasn't been on the site to much cuz he is down in the dumps not being able to travel and see all his friends. it was great to see him and made my day. :clap2:

thanks don, walmart has some great online prices. they have some refurbished ones. should i stay away from them. i figure they are probably ones that people returned and they could'nt sell as new.

my at&t wifi modem crashed for the second time last week, so i ditched my at&t highspeed and phone service. went to sprint cellular for a home phone and picked up sprint mobile highspeed for the internet. i decided to get rid of my big computer, cuz it's getting old and takes up to much space. i'm on my acer note book now, and it works great. i'm shopping for a new laptop with a 15.6 screen and about 3 0r 4 g memory and 500g hard drive. where is a good place to find a good price and what brands should i look for?

does any one in the vicinity of the cairo, illinois no how the flooding situation is? i have to cross the river near there to get to b2 mom &dads meet next friday. i will be coming down highway 55 in missouri, and heading through kentucky to tennessee. last year my gps took me right to the motel in martin, tennessee.

Who "Has the Venture Rider International Banner??
Snarley Bill replied to Condor's topic in Watering Hole
all i had was the flags for the international. we did'nt have the banner. -
my take on the spyder is a good one. my wife thinks they are stupid looking. who cares what wives think. lol. i like it better than a trike. there is room for floor boards, which i would want, and it needs way more motor. i would consider one when i get a little older, but these two issues would have to be addressed. i have got a feeling that more motor may be dangerous, so they set a limit on horse power due to the design. 900 cc's seems rather anemic considering the overall weight. i saw one take off at full throttle and was'nt impressed at all. over all looks and design in my book is very cool. i could do one someday. maybe for my 70th birthday. snarley bill ps. a young lady passes me on the highway once in awhile on a yellow one and looks like she is enjoying the hell out of the ride. someday i will catch her and find out.

i saw one at a local dealer. neat bike but as you said an outrageous price. honda ain't stupid. they have an alterier motive.

the fiesta has a sealed transmission with no dip stick. i was going to buy one but i kind of like to maintain my transmission. they advertise that it will last up to 150,000 miles. scary thing is the phrase, up to. some day i guess we will have engines that require no maintenance. ive been working on an engine design that is mostly composite plastic and is glued together. no bolts very little machining, injection molded block and heads. basically a throw away engine. thats all i am going to say. my design would work, and cut a tremendous amount of production cost, and increase reliability. i think the composite material and adhesion technology is almost far enough along that my design will work.
-
i kind of think they priced it high so they would'nt sell to many. kind of like the v-max. they just want to get enough on the road to test the reliability of a new design.

i'm getting ready to go riding. looks like good weather for a change. guess i will head west. not much flooding in that direction.
