really sad news.hate to here stories like this.i see many drunks on the road when going to work late at night.i travel two highways and get pasted most every night by people who have had to much.so sorry about your friend.bill

i trained horses professionally and showed them for years.training one now for my wife.had many more crashes on horses than on bikes.broken collar bone, broken ribs, etc.a horse has a mind of it's own.i've trained some pretty rank horses and had some bad crashes on them.but i fear riding a bike more than riding a horse, because there are ten times the dangers coping with all the automobiles and road conditions that are thrown at you per mile.not to mention you are traveling alot faster on a bike.

guess i better start thinking about a meet and eat date.it will be in the spring for sure.what a ride i have planned. :clap2:

problem is everyone is living in the fast lane and trying to pack two lifetimes in one. moms working and taking care of the kids, because there so far in debt.so she has to go doubletime 24- 7. dads working and busy having fun,not to much time for mom and the kids.sure glad i'm on the side lines in this modern day rat race.i don't have very long left.when it comes time to check out i can look back and remember the old easy going days and the great life i was lucky to enjoy.don't see any future for the next generation.people are driving cars beyond their limits more so everyday.no time to pay attention to whats going on around them, they have other things to pack into their driving time.got to eat, talk on the phone ,yell at the kids, put make up on,read the paper, etc. sure is scary.i'm getting to the point where i feel every ride may be my last one.kind of takes the enjoyment out of motorcycling.

sorry to here you got nailed.hope you get healed up soon .we will be praying for your quick recovery so you can get back on the road.bill

Biofuels not what they are cracked up to be
Snarley Bill replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
amen.just common sense chemistry.can't believe the auto manufacturers are backing this.must be kick backs down the road for them.i can't believe the people that can't wait for this to happen.most of the ones i talk to really believe it will be cheap and plentiful.when i tell thm their mileage will drop by a third they say no way.jugglers right far less btu's per volume in ethanol. -

bio fuels are the greatest scam ever.your mileage will drop by a third.much more expensive than gasoline after they get the scam in full swing.one corn crop per year.where we going to get all the corn? we will be dependent on another country for it.where we going to put all the crap thats left when we produce the fuel.where we gonna get diesel fuel, and motor oil.etc,etc,.an old law of physics says there ain't no free lunches and you can't get something for nothing.this will end up costing the american people big time.and a bunch of people will get rich quick. -
it's on the list.thanks all for the info.

michael, guess i better figure out a date for my meet and eat.it will be in the spring.i think we will ride from st. charles to jefferson city and back.really an awesome ride.i will have to get with witho,(wayne), in montgomery city to help map out the ride.he knows that area well.i don't want to interfere with other meets on the date.i will post it when i get it together.hope you and teri can make it.i am going to bring my boss from now on.(wife)lol.she had to dog sit during eureka springs.think i will have a big barbeque at my house when we get done with the ride.so bring a big appetite ,don't want anyone to leave hungry.we have nice motels nearby and they are close to the river boat if you are into gambling.it will be a fun time.i was thinking the middle of may.before memorial day.how does this sound to everyone who may be interested in coming.bill ps. boy do i get excited when i plan these get togethers.i'm ready
-
sorry you had such bad luck with the weather.yes there are plenty of motels in the area.you may choose which ever one you wish.i don't think anyone that was with our group had a problem with the eidelwiess inn.if anyone does please let me know.i think everyone that was there had a great time.when you put a meet on like this, and i have put on several on this group and also the cushman group where i rented a whole fairgrounds two years in a row,it is hard to get everything perfect.mostly on the short time i had to do it. i get a big thrill out of seeing people have fun and do the best i can to make it happen.again i am sorry if i created an inconvenience for you.and also sorry we missed you.i hope you don't hold this against me.i do the best i can to make my meets a success.bill:2133:

just recieved a pm from one of the members that attended eureka springs and he talked to cindy at the eidelweiss inn.she is going to block out the backside of the motel for us next year so we can all be together.she will start taking reservations in jan. or feb.of 2008.the back side has a large deck with umbrella tables overlooking a beautiful wooded and grass area where we watched a family of deer graze every night.very biker friendly.they even furnished clean towels to wipe your bike down.totally surrounded with good eating places within walking distance.and a very clean motel.i will start posting the meet after the first of the year.it will be in sept. again after labor day.dates coming soon. bill ps. we will have t-shirts and patches next year.
