  1. Would love to make it, but I already have committments for the entire month of January. If you do it again sometime, maybe I could make it. Even if the weather is bad in the panhandle, I have a trailer.
  2. Right or wrong, to me the difference is more along the lines of values and how you treat others. Also, whose $2.00 was it? My thinking is if she got upset enough that she got a big old wad in her panties and went home because you tipped some kid $2 for delivering a pizza life ain't gonna' be a lot of fun. You will either have to change your values or change who you are with. Just decide which is more important. Ain't saying nothing, just saying.
  3. Retirement is most excellent!!!
  4. Yes. Also, the cigarette lighter is hot only when the switch is on. That is the reason most of us use that wire.
  5. Guess I will have to bring the fixin's for Margaritas. After a few Margaritas, the weather might still be bad, but we won't care.
  6. Thom, I remember having a couple of adult beverages at your house last spring and I was wondering after reading your sign out. Just how cold is your beer? We are supposed to be down that way in January and I would really like for the beer to be much colder than the outside temp.
  7. I bought my bike in Springfield, Mo. and I live in the Texas panhandle. The only warranty work I have had done on the bike was a leak in the radiator, but the Amarillo, Tx. dealer had no problem. I am thinking a Yamaha warranty is a Yamaha warranty. The dealer is reimbursed by Yamaha for their labor. I would give it a shot. I think the warranty covers dealer installed accessories, you don't really have much to lose by checking. Here is what Yamaha says about their warranty, doesn't say you have to return it to the dealer your purchased it from. THE PERIOD OF WARRANTY for the Yamaha Royal Star or Venture including windshield, saddlebags, and mounting hardware and/or audio equipment installed as original equipment, shall be five (5) years from the date of purchase, regardless of mileage. MODELS EXCLUDED FROM WARRANTY include those used for non-Yamaha authorized renting, leasing, or other commercial purposes. DURING THE PERIOD OF WARRANTY any authorized Yamaha motorcycle dealer will, free of charge, repair or replace, at Yamaha’s option, any part adjudged defective by Yamaha due to faulty workmanship or material from the factory. Parts used in warranty repairs will be warranted for the balance of the product’s warranty period. All parts replaced under warranty become the property of Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. GENERAL EXCLUSIONS from this warranty shall include any failures caused by: a. Competition of racing use. b. Installation of parts or accessories that are not qualitatively equivalent to genuine Yamaha parts. c. Abnormal strain, neglect, or abuse. d. Lack of proper maintenance or storage. e. Accident or collision damage. f. Modification to original parts. g. Damage due to improper transportation.
  8. If your lights were a dealer installed accessory, would they not be covered under warranty? I am thinking I would run it by the dealer.
  9. Khrome Werks are quality pipes, in my opinion. To go back to stock pipes, remove saddle bags (4 bolts on each) loosen clamps (1 clamp on each pipe), then there is 1 bolt holding each pipe on. Pull pipes off bike and go back in reverse order. Doesn't take long. Also, gives you a chance to inspect rear tire etc. I found a 4" crack in the sidewall of my rear tire not long ago that I would not have seen with the bags on.

    Ahhhhh

    You ain't right.
  11. I truly enjoy the taste of a good cold beer, as well as a good mixed drink or a good glass of wine. I also use beer quite often when cooking, especially on the grill. However, if Buddy ever shows up here, I will skip the cooking with beer. I have friends who can't drink because they can't drink just one. Back to origional question, I don't have a problem with alcohol being used in the preparation of food. But, I also don't have the problem of not being able to walk away from a drink. I might feel differently if I was a recovering addict. How is that for straddling the fence?
  12. Cottonseed oil is equally as good and less expensive than peanut oil.
  13. My m/t didn't fail, but when had the bags off a while back I noticed a crack in the sidewall that was about 4" long. The tire was replaced by the manufacturer. The tire was made in the 45th week of 2008 and mounted in July of 2009.
  14. When I lowered the front end on my bike, I also installed risers to move the bars back for a more comfortable ride. Installing the risers also gives you the room you need if you want to add air to the front.
  15. Lowell, when were you planning to go to the Cracker Barrel in Amarillo?
  16. I have fried 15 so far this Thanksgiving week, I had one guy call and ask me if I would fry one for him, when I asked if he had the turkey he said he would run to town and pick on up and bring it right over for me to fry. I am thinking I told him to just buy a couple of cans of Spam and have that. Frying turkeys ain't hard, but it is really nice if you know how and leave the drinking to the drinkers.
  17. Lowell stopped by the house for coffee and a snack of deep fried turkey this afternoon about 1:00 PM, then was on his way to Stratford (about 100 miles North of Borger) for the evening. After that he may go....................somewhere. Great to see you again Lowell, stop by again next time you are in the area.
  18. Oops, I sent money before I read all the posts. I didn't realize you had cancelled the project. She deserves the help.
  19. I bought a swing set when my kids were small, the directions said "some assembly required". I learned a valuable lesson from that. I lowered the front of my Venture, but a couple of my buddies came over and it went a lot easier. I can see where the time line would increase by a significant amount working alone.
  20. You never did say if they came in XL size. Not saying anything, just saying.
  21. He is probably refering to the amp size of the individual circuit breakers.
  22. I have not moved to the darkside YET, but I did check with my insurance company and they do not have a problem with a car tire on a motorcycle. Different insurance companies may have different policies, just like different strokes for different folks.
  23. It will get there.
  24. The Wal-Mart here in Borger isn't exactly a meca of diversified merchandise. I will check the Wal-Marts in Amarillo. Thanks for all the responses.
  25. I will look, thanks for the reply. I was missing something.
