I asked a Harley rider how he trailers his bike. He does use a wheel chock to hold the bike upright, then uses soft ties on the fender brace where the front fender bolts to the forks. For insurance, use additional ties on the front and a couple of ties to keep the back end in place. If using the "S" hooks, be sure and cover them with tape to prevent accidental unhooking.

I ordered 3, sent funds via PayPal. Thanks.

I didn't even talk to Rick or Kevin, I just took the printout to the parts counter.

Sharp's had no problem matching the internet pricing on the tires for me. I just printed off the internet price and took it with me. They did charge sales tax, but I got the cheaper mounting by buying from them. I am thinking just find the best price you can on the internet, print it off and ask them what they can do.

I just had a set of Avons put on my 2006 RSV. I printed off the price from Southwest Moto and took it to Sharps and asked when what they could do. They matched the price and I got the cheaper mounting by buying from Sharps. You might try that, it worked for me.

If the deal you have for the stock pipes doesn't work out, I have a set of stock pipes I will trade you. The set I have only have about 1,000 miles on them.

I am thinking if you like what you ride, then you are riding the right bike. Buy what makes you happy. When I bought my 1996 Royal Star, there was a terrible whine but it went away after the divorce. I have a 2006 RSV and a new wife now and no whine. Life is good.

I did the same thing, only I used their computer to get the on line price. I asked if they could match the internet price and the lady said she could not, I then asked if I could use the interned for just a minute on their computer and she said "that is what I would do". I the reservation while talking to her. Oh yeah, I was on a bike at the time. The Motel is Marriot extended stay in Oklahoma City. Also, a storm rolled in and they asked if I would like them to get a tarp and cover my bike. It doesn't get any better than that!

I am thinking I will buy a few.

I have never had a problem of any kind when on the road. Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have been treated very well at every motel.

This article was on the editorial page of the Amarillo paper, I am hoping it does some good. The day before I read the article some nice lady, kinda' like the one in the picture, ignored a yield sign and cut me off in her Lincoln after making eye contact with me. All you can do is get out of their way. Well, get out of their way and then pull up to them and.......

Glad you had good instincts and trusted them, my daughter and son-in-law left on a road trip this morning, I hope they listen to their instincts like you did.

I picked up my 2006 Midnight Venture in April for $14,200. I was a hold over, so I was able to deal on it. That was also before tax and tags. I bought the bike in Missouri and paid the tax when I got back to Texas. There are some deals out there, if you shop around. I took the printed price to my local dealer and the said he could not sell me a bike for that price, but I gave him a shot. Last week, I went by and asked about tires and showed him the price I could get them for off the internet and he matched that price.

Some of went for a ride Saturday and stopped in Quitaque, Tx. for lunch. There is a resturant there called Sportsmans bar and grill that used to be a great place to grab a meal. It has changed hands since the last time I have eaten there and is no longer a place you want to eat. When we went to out table, the guy next to me banged his chair on the floor a few times before he sat down. I later asked him what that was all about the replied that there were roaches all over the chair and he was knocking them off. They had the lights turned down pretty dim, now I know why. So unless you like to dine with the roaches avoid the Sportsmans bar and grill in Quitaque, Texas.

I don't know what kind of speed they are capable of, but it has more than enough power to get around someone if I am passing them and will cruise easily all day long. I am thinking that is what I need. I have opened it up in the first 3 gears, but back off when I get in 4th.

I also pay about $350, I am insured with Dairyland. Maybe you should do a little shopping.

I don't know how fast the RSV is, but there are a lot of custom bikes out there that can't touch it. When we were in Ruidoso, we had ridden to Cloud Croft and on the way back down the mountain a group riding customs were pushing me pretty hard all the way down. That area is "open range", therefore you encounter cattle on the road frequently and I felt riding the speed limit was fast enough. When we reached a stop sign at the 4 lane hiway going back to Ruidoso they all swung out to the inside lane to show me their tail lights. I watched my mirrors and did not open mine up until after they had all gotten the jump. As I shifted to 4th gear somewhere around 85mph, they were waaaaaaaay back and I was the only one riding double. I did slow down and let them pass, I even smiled and waved. I am not thinking I will be gettling a Birthday card from them this year.

Do these same upgrades also work on a '96 Royal Star?
-
I am thinking I won't have to split the faring, I have small hands. Thanks, I will be ordering the new bulbs.

After reading some of these posts I am thinking I will upgrade the lighting on my RSV. Will I need to split the faring to change the headlight bulb?

Like Dean said, the garage and lift was supplied by Dennis. I am thinking we were all a little surprised by how easy it was to sync the carbs. I had printed off the instructions from this site and it was a snap. Thanks to all who turned out. We got the carbs synced on 5 bikes, a set of grips put on and Forrest wired up some lights on my bike.

I have seen a few bikes with the voyager kit on them. A couple of them were guys who had a few years and a couple of bad knees and could no longer hold the bike up. It was either the voyager kit or quit riding.

Here are a couple of pics. from our Carbtune day Saturday. I have more, but my computer skills may not be quite on the same level as Freebird. I tried to attach more, but somehow it didn't work for me. Problem may be that WalMart $2.00 calculaltors still amaze me. I will try to get more posted. For those of you who missed Saturday, we are going to try to get together again this Saturday for a ride and cookout at my house in Borger. I will be glad to sync anyone's carbs who shows up. These lights are great, really light up the back of the bike. I will get some pictures posted. Thanks Forrest, you did a great job. Looks like I owe burgers and beer.
