  1. I would be interested in how the cables worked also, I have lowered the front end of my RSV and am thinking of ordering the Baron 1 1/2" extensions. It had not occured to me that lowering the front end might cause a problem with the cables and hoses when I intall the extensions.
  2. I bought a 550 also. I have used it in the car, but still need to wire it up on the bike before road trip weather gets here.
  3. Looks like a lot of fun, but the $48,000 for the basic model is a little pricey for my pocketbook. The web site says they hope to be available in late 2008 in North America.
  4. I don't know, I am cheap and ugly too and I sit right on top of a RSV. Go figure.
  5. I already have plans for the next couple of weekends, but will see about planning a meet and eat after that. We need to get some plans made and start getting together, anyone up for a day of changing oil etc? I have quite a bit of garage space.
  6. Man, you could have at least asked for a copy of his agenda so the rest of us could go for equal time. That just ain't right.
  7. I'd kinda' like to see how they look, been thinking about it.
  8. You have mail, thanks Don
  9. PayPal payment sent for 3 patches. Thanks Don
  10. www.wagnercustomproducts.com There ya' go.
  11. We need to get one going since the weather is getting better.
  12. I would be interested in how much you cut off and if you can weld it back without blowing the chrome off. I have lowered the front end of mine and am thinking about putting the barons kit on the back. The origional Royal Star kick stand is about 3" shorter than the RSV.
  13. I have seen several posts concerning dealers not wanting to perform warranty work on bikes they did not sell. My RSV developed a serious coolant leak coming from the radiator. My closest Yamaha dealer is Sharp's in Amarillo. I called their service department and spoke with Mike, there was no discussion concerning where I purchased the bike. Mike knows I did not buy the bike in Amarillo, when I asked when he could get to it he said whenever I got it there. I picked the bike up yesterday with a new radiator in it and Mike thanked me for picking it up so promptly after it was fixed. Just wanted to let folks know Sharp's did me right. I have bought a bike from them in the past and have never had any problem with their service department.
  14. Whut, no Ripple or Boones Farm?
  15. Uh, considering the people you are asking, it might be kinda' like asking the fat guy in the bakery which is better, cookies or brussel sprouts. :rotf:
  16. If you are wanting to use pets instead of passenger floorboards, you can use the mounting brackets from an origional Royal Star ('96 - '01) and order a set of pegs to fit that bike. The bolt holes have not changed. There are several pegs out there that will fit that bike.
  17. Have you lowered the front end also, or just the Barons kit on the back?
  18. You can also lower the front end, the directions are in the tech section and it improves the low speed handling as well as lowering the bike. I have lowered the front of mine and am thinking of installing the barons lowering kit on the back.
  19. Don, I would like to have two. Thanks
  20. If you are traveling by bike and wouldn't mind some company for a few miles, let me know when you will be in the panhandle and maybe we can share some hiway.
  21. The origional Royal Star ('96 - '01) wasn't as tall as the present bikes and the kick stand was shorter. I don't remember how much, but I am thinking it is a couple of inches. If the mounting is the same as the Venture, I don't know why you couldn't use the kick stand off the older Royal Star. If you want to know the legnth of the Royal Star kick stand, let me know. I know where there is one I can measure, or maybe one of the guys on here that rides one will help out.
  22. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=939 There ya go. I lowered the front end of my bike a couple weeks ago and it makes a big difference.
  23. Oh yeah, some guys get a little 'tude when they trade bikes. Those will always be out there, I ride with several guys, everthing from Honda to Harley. Like you said, either they are your friend or not, bike brand doesn't change that. Now, for the band. They ride AND play country music. Wow, it doesn't get any better than that. I have too much grandkid stuff going on this weekend, but I would like to hear them play sometime.
  24. Yeah, what he said.
