Hope things go well for you at the Dr's office. We'll keep a light on for ya', was looking forward to meeting you. Maybe things will go well and you can still make it.

You didn't think I was implying YOUR bike was dirty, did ya'? I thought that was just a protective coat to keep the paint from fading.
-
Why no Forrest, I was thinking of others. I know your bike is spotless. Well, maybe one spot of dirt. About the size of the bike. I also have a power washer, if anyone wants to wash their bike. Not saying anything, just saying.

Yep, you can't be changing plugs without blowing the junk off the engine first.

I will have bagels and coffee for the morning and will have burgers in the afternoon. I haven't set a time since we have some traveling a distance. Just come on over, we can have coffee before we start on the bikes. I should have coffee made and be open for business by 9:00AM.

This will be a little calmer that Wizzards since there may be some wifes and a couple of my grandkids are going to come over. Meets at my place are pretty calm.

Great, sounds like this may be a good meet. Maybe it will turn into an annual thing.

Just wondering, in a couple of weeks when the changes are in place, will the membership list also be revised to show only the members who have paid? Not trying to stir the pot, just wondering.

Brian, I don't have the equipment to change tires, I plan to learn to do that one of these days but have not purchased the equipment or acquired the skills to change tires. Jack, Wish you could make it, but I am thinking you better make the wedding. I appreciate the offer of the Carbtune, but I think we can get them done using one. Maybe we can all get together again and you can make it.

Don, Hope your son can make the trip with you. Looking foward to meeting up with you and Lowell, I have the coffee on Saturday morning and will fire the grill up. If you have any trouble finding the house, give me a call.

Tom, Sounds great, we plan to get to Fredericksburg on Thursday and stay until Monday or Tuesday. I passed through Fredericksburg Easter weekend, but didn't stop, the rain clouds were looking a little rough and was trying to get to Junction before it got too wet. A friend and I had been to Rockport for a few days on the bikes, met some great folks while we were there.

Looks like we have a plan. I don't have a set time to get started, especially since we have folks traveling quite a distance. So......what I am thinking is we will be open for business all day, I have a coffee pot in the shop and will open early. For those who need an address here ya' go. 123 Broadmoor Borger, Texas cell phone 806 674 6346 I will also cook burgers, etc and have drinks. At my place you always have two choices when I am cooking. Take it or leave it. Looking forward to Saturday.

You never know, I took my carbtune with me on a roadtrip to Rockport, Tx. (800 miles from here) to sync the carbs on a bike.

I haven't had any high speed handling issues after lowering mine 1" in the front. I put apporx. 7,000 miles on mine at stock height, then another 5,000 with the front lowered and around 3,000 since I lowered the rear. One of the reasons I spaced the mods out was so if there was a handling problem, I would know which mod caused it. So far, I am pleased with the feel and handling of the bike at all speeds.
-
Hope you can all make it Saturday, if I could get kind of count by Wednesday or so it would help quite a bit so I would have an idea of how much food to buy. Looking forward to getting together with you.

One thing you might consider before lowering the front more is the clearance between the fender and the radiator. I lowered my bike front and rear and am very pleased with it. You will however, need to shorten the kickstand. I had a '96 Royal Star before I moved up to the '06 RSV and like the feel of a lower bike.

Great and congrats on the new grandchild. I will cook some burgers on the grill. Looking forward to meeting you guys and Lowell.

Looks like the weather is finally going to line out a little so if there is any interest, I will host a day at my house to sync carbs etc. I have a carbtune and will make room so we can sync the carbs with the bike parked inside. I will put May 2 on my calendar. Let me know.

Kickstand Length Difference
Jerry W replied to stevel's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Steve, The newer stands are indeed longer, but they may be too long for your bike. I had a 1996 Royal Star before I bought the RSV I now ride and the stand on the '96 is almost 3" shorter than the one on the 06'. I am thinking that much difference would make it very difficult if not impossible to put the bike on the stand without it falling over. The reason I say this is I lowered my RSV front and back and it was tricky with the bike on the stand in my garage. I was afraid if I bumped it, it would fall right over and I lowered the bike 1 1/2" in the rear and 1" in front. With this modification, the RSV is still taller than your Royal Star and I had to shorten the kickstand.- 2 replies

My thought is that you don't have to be a jerk to ride a Harley and you don't have to ride a Harley to be a jerk. I know some of each, some of my good friends ride Harley's and would not ride anything else, but they respect the fact that I ride a Yamaha and we ride together. I also know some guys who ride Harleys that are real jerks. It may not be the bikes fault, maybe it just gives some of them an excuse to run their head and feel safety in numbers. I just find it easier to ignore the ones who use material objects to try and elevate themselves above anyone. Let's just ride.
