  1. Great, maybe some of the Amarillo guys will show up also.
  2. Okay folks, lets do this on October, 17. All I need is to know how many will show up so I can make a grocery run. I will furnish the meals for Saturday. Hopefully, the weather will be a little better than it was the last time we tried this.
  3. Don't have them in yet, we have had a lot of things going on, we help put the American Cancer Society annual fundraiser for our county together and that is kinda' time consuming plus some other things that were not expected. I haven't even started the bike in a couple of weeks.
  4. I will most likely put something together around the middle of October. I have a grandson who plays high school on Friday nights and a granddaughter who plays soccer on Sunday afternoon, but Saturdays are pretty much open. So...... when are you guys off, I am thinking either the 10th, 17th or 24th of October.
  5. Just checking to see if there is enough interst in getting together to tune carbs. etc this fall in Borger. If there is enough interest, I will set something up.
  6. Rather have it on a trailer than ride with some folks.
  7. They trailer it because it is theirs and they can do what they choose. I have trailered mine, sometimes we meet several friends and we haul coolers, stoves etc and stay at a campground. Funny, I saw trailers at the International meet in Harrison but there were no threads concerning that.
  8. :sign yeah that: You could probably install a set of pullbacks on the bars to make it more comfortable to reach the grips, this should also pick the bars up off the forks and allow you to lower the front.
  9. I believe they bolt from the bottom of the floorboard, push the floorboard up and look on the bottom side, I think you will see the bolts that hold the covers on. If you decide to go back with chrome Kuryakyn makes some that are less than $100 and are very nice. They are the ones that are listed for the V Star 1100.
  10. Sorry for your loss, you can see in the garage behind him in the picture there is a motorcyle jacket, a turkey fryer and two coleman lanterns. Friends like that are hard to find.
  11. Those folks don't have a lot going on.
  12. Glad you did, it will pave the way for another maintenance day. You might look on ebay for the eyebrows for the Harley lights also.
  13. Yes it was, cranial rectitus is alive and well. Anyway, if there is any interest, I will put one together at my place in October or November, depending on the weather and when folks can make it.
  14. Don, This is actually an old post from the maintenance day that kinda' fell apart last spring when the weather didn't cooperate. However, if you guys want to try it again, I will put one together. Probably need to try to get it going pretty soon before it starts getting cold. I could do one in October.
  15. We will get the pwc spring to replace the stock one. Thanks for your help.
  16. So....the thinking is that all we need to replace is the spring? Should we hit the plates with 400 grit to remove any glaze or just replace the spring and button it back up?
  17. Thanks, I will send him a note. We are going to try bleeding the clutch first then replace the clutch if that doesn't make it quit slipping.
  18. Looks like we are going to have to change out the clutch on my son-in-laws 1996 Royal Star, can any of you tell if it the procedure and parts will be the same as for the Venture? Thanks.
  19. Git er done. Sounds like a great place for a meet to me.
  20. Just wondering, do you have GFI outlets or did you have to wait for the breaker to work? I have GFI outlets on everything, they cost a little more but well worth the money.
  21. I have a carbtune and live in Borger. Without going into a lot of detail, I am pretty tied up until after the 27th, but after that I will be glad to show you how to use the carbtune. I don't have a tach. If you respond and I don't answer, I am not going to be around a computer for about a week but will get back with you then.
  22. I don't have a problem, but I am not a real agressive rider. You can put some air in the rear shock and it will raise the back up. I have raked the pipes a few times, but that was leaving a driveway etc. that had a pretty good angle. After I aired the shock up, I have not raked them.
  23. I have my bike lowered front and rear and I have no intentions of raising it back up. It does give the bike a lower center of gravity and makes it easier to step over the seat. I rode stock for a while, then lowered the front and later the rear. I am very satisfied with the results.
  24. I have never made one of the maintenance days. Hopefully, I can make it this year. Just set a date that works for you. My dance card is pretty open.
  25. I have never had plexiglass get hot enough to stick back together, but I always tape both sides before I cut it and use a medium tooth blade. Your blade could have been a little too fine, but you got it done.
