  1. Ponch is handy as a pocket on a shirt! He is an awesome guy. It is still hard to believe he and Gunboat rode over 600 miles up here to attend a 1 day maintenance day to work on other folks bikes. The gauge cluster Ponch puts together is also pretty neat. Silver Bullet (Jack Wallace) gave some expert instruction on the clutch upgrade for Ponch's bike. Ponch also removed a stripped bolt from Lil Beaver's gas tank bolt. It was a really successful day, I would kinda' like to make this a yearly thing. Thanks again to the folks who showed up and made it a success.
  2. Jack, Thanks for comming over. It was great to have you and the others. You were a great help, thanks for bringing Bokefus and his dad over with you. I may do this again next spring at the start of riding season and we can carb tune bikes, change oil etc to get the riding season started. Thanks again for comming over.
  3. Beats me, this site won't let me download pics. I can download them other places, but not here.
  4. Man, you got close to here. It is about 50 miles from Claude to Borger. If you have any trouble finding me, my cell is 806 674 6346.
  5. I forgot about that.
  6. You gonna' need a jack to check the bearings?
  7. Now, don't start messing with my coffee.
  8. Jack, No one has said anything about needing the jack. I am thinking there is no need to haul it over here. The only things that I am aware of doing is the gauges on my bike and the clutch on Ponch's. We may work on the stripped bolt on Lil Beaver's gas tank, but none of those need a jack. I really appreciate you offering to bring the jack, but I am not thinking it is necessary. I will have the coffee, bagels and cream cheese in the morning. Then, we will have smoked pork loin, pinto beans and slaw later in the day.
  9. Great, I will have the coffee on. Our house is on a corner lot, I will park a silver Tahoe in front. There will be two garages open, one on the side street and one facing the paved alley in back.
  10. That's a lot of psi's. You still going to make it over tomorrow?
  11. No, I am not thinking the front light bar off a Harley will fit the RSV's.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280407547332&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT There ya' go.
  13. Anyone looking for a set of Harley lights for the back of an RSV? There is a set on ebay for $50 and no bids.
  14. I am hating to see any business go under. Was hoping to see this kind of thing stop with the stock market trying to make a recovery, guess it will take a while for the ripple effect to get to the struggling businesses.
  15. Well dang, wish you could make it. Next time I do this, I will get with you and work it out with your schedule if you want to ride up. I have a bunch of kin folk around Searcy.
  16. I am thinking most of them are planning on a maint. day / meet & eat over a meet & drink, but that is just me. I will probably pass on the trip to Wizzards, but the others are quite free to make whatever plans they wish. I will most likely just stay here and visit and work on bikes.
  17. I have run Avon's for over 10 years without a problem. However, I had a set mounted in late July of 2009 and the rear tire has a crack in the sidewall about 4" long. The manufacture date of the tire is the 45th week of 2008, so the tire is not old. I called the dealership where I bought the tires and was told they would just have to let the rep. look at the tire. Then, I called Avon and they said as long as the tire was less than 5 years old and had at least 50% of the tread left they would replace the tire.
  18. I have my RSV lowered front and rear with no problems. I have no problem with clearance, I just added some air to the rear shock. If you are adding a "Voyager" type kit it should be no problem.
  19. Ok guys, I am trying to get a fairly accurate head count so I can make a grocery run. Here is a list of those I am thinking will be here on Saturday, let me know if left someone off. Gunboat Ponch Lil Beaver Tx2Sturgis SapperMedic flb - after work on Saturday Bossman Silver Bullet Obber - maybe I haven't rounded up a jack yet, but Silver Bullet has offered to bring one if needed. Does anyone need a jack?
  20. Hope it was something really simple and he is just feeling a little stupid, but is riding to make himself feel better.
  21. Yeah, the 2nd day would be Sunday but I am not knowing if there is any interest or not. So far you are the only one who had mentioned attending a 2nd day. Guess we will just play it by ear and make the decision on Saturday. I will let you know.
  22. I was wondering if anyone was still having a problem with cracks developing on the sidewalls of their Avons. I had a set mounted in July and noticed a crack in the sidewall on the rear tire the other day. I haven't gotten to Amarillo to see about getting it replaced yet. I also picked up a nail in the front tire and I am kind of a chicken about riding with the front tire plugged so I guess I will buy a new front tire also.
  23. I was pretty sure you were kidding since we are looking to fix this in my garage. I don't guess there is any way to get a little pipe wrench on the bolt head is there? Also, I have to go to Amarillo on Thursday and there is a Harbor Freight there, I can pick up a tap. I just need to know what size.
  24. Good luck with that. Where ya' headed?
  25. I have drill bits, but don't have any taps.
