    2007 Midnight Venture 1300
  1. Once again I post first and ask questions later. Just did a browse and found this already answered a few times. Will be looking at other threads first in the future. On a lighter note, the weather finally broke here in sunny Florida so every day is a good day to ride.
  2. I have a 2007 Midnight Venture 1300. I do not have wired headsets as my helmets are all set with bluetooth to chatter back and forth and interface with phone. As a result I do not ever use the CB. I occasionally use the radio. Is there a lower profile antenna for FM that I could use instead and eliminate the whips on the back? I know I'll loose a little reception but I live in a fairly urban area and, worst case, I can always go to MP3 on the phone (or crank up that nifty little cassette deck :-) ) Thanks for the help. PS - which antenna is the CB? Perhaps just eliminating one for now would be acceptable until I can find a lower profile FM
  3. The FRP or fiberglass panels is the best way to go. Durable, waterproof through and through and really doesn't care how cold it gets. Best of luck with the renovation. PS - watch the fan motor or get a sealed motor for the fan, outhouse gases can be pretty corrosive.
  4. Thanks WildBill, like the idea. Maybe when the legs get a little longer. I managed a prototype solution that, if it works, I can have made in something more sight friendly. There has to be a metal shop around here somewhere that will take on such a neat little project. Looking forward to a chance to road test with my little guys.
  5. Thanks Condor for the bling idea...more is always better. I was hoping for someone with maybe a pic for the said pegs to mount on the bag guards. The blocks on the boards may be the answer. I'm not too keen on letting the feet rest on the edge of the board while it's up unless I can secure the board in the up position. Will keep plucking away at it. Thanks again.
  6. I hope this works for posting the pictures. Thanks
  7. Thanks in advance for help in this. You guys have been a wealth of info so far searching exisiting threads for knowledge. My query, my son is 7 and my daughter 8...both love to ride with me :-) ... neither can reaach the passenger floorboards. With heels resting on the piping around the side bags anyway, has anyone seen, heard of or manufactured a floorboard that would mount to the pipes on the bags? I know it would be light duty but they're light passengers. If I can figure out how I'll post some photos of the area I'm talking about.
  8. Thanks for all the feedback. Very helpful. John
  9. New owner of a 2007 midnight venture and have a couple questions 1. What can I do about the wired com system. Can't seem to find any info online ... are the headsets universal? Are they yamaha only? Where is the best place to get info, shop etc. The bike only came with the wires ... no headsets 2. Is there any way to remove the cassette deck and upgrade to CD? Or just pull the cassette deck and create an empty pocket for the droid and or MP3 player? And who's idea was it to put a cassette deck in a 2007? Seems a little past time to me. I dunno Thanks for the help.
