  1. Holy crap Eck that's both crazy and it sucks. Why are us Good people always having to pay for the mistakes of blatant dummies and morons. Thankfully it could have been worse as he proceeds to run a light and kill a family during the holidays. Think of it this way, you and your truck helped stop a potential tragedy. Good job there. But it still makes ya mad bc it's so painfully preventable.
  2. Hey boss, I am am offended that you called my GW Tupperware clad. I am offended that I have to write this. I'm offended that I'm offended.
  3. Plugging a MC tire IMO should be just a temp fix to be off the stranded road or interstate or roads where there is no safe way to have it patched or checked out. I know in Florida some of the roads are desolate and you'd be waiting a while for some road assistance. It is nice to know how to do. Have the regular strips but also have dyna plugs http://www.dynaplug.com.
  4. Yet another handy tip from the Eckster! It's easy and...( drum roll please.....) Eck-onomical....
  5. Guess I'm late to the reasons of Yammers venting. That said, idk why anyone would disrespect a veteran on a military or service topic. Most would agree we all love Dan. Again, maybe I'm stepping out of turn, but for Dan to be this worked up is not usual from what I am used to seeing. Dan, Breathe my brother. Ignore those who get you upset and know the majority are with you. No matter what ride and who you ride with.
  6. Si señor Yamma
  7. Dale, you have a few options and that's based on what type of mounts you have. If you have the suction cup, which seems like it will fall off but it won't, you can use either inside, outside of windshield. Or, on the fender. If you have a clamp with or without the gooseneck extender, you can place on crash bars, or passenger arm rest or foot pegs. If you have the 3m sticker, again, the fenders or saddlebags or helmet. My suggestion is to experiment before you go out to venture west. I learned last month on the fly in Bryson city, and Maggie valley with the mountains when I was with Eck and Konnie. It was interesting how each worked, but had its own ways of recording. Keep us posted...
  8. Eck, my man, that is as old of a scam as the hills. I can't believe they still try that nonsense. I haven't forgotten those pics. Each time I try to send it comes up too big. I might just mail you a thumb drive and ship back when done on your end...
  9. Puc, if the eagle rider guys even had one inkling that you'd want it to look like your picture, they'd sell every last bike they had. You will be officially added to the NO RENT ZONE along with ISIS and the KKK. That said, I want to be there when you tell the guy and show him a pic of your new rental configuration. And then watch him just take the fetal position in the corner....
  10. 35 miles. Maybe more but I was far away from home and it wasn't intentional anyway. Some of these back roads in Tennessee and KY, can be deceiving in how far they are...
  11. Nice to hear Eckster!!! Make sure you spoil rotten and return to parent!
  12. what bike were you towing Dale and how is the bike trailer during the ride with bike on back?
  13. Texas ladies are amazingly sexy....
  14. How many times is he going to say the donkey motor???
  15. Dion, how far is Sapphire from Bryson City. Some guys are heading up there Wednesday through Saturday. Maybe I'd run into you somewhere?
  16. maybe Dan needs an armored truck
  17. congrats Eck. I had to deal with that about 6 months ago and like you, needed to wait to see if I was going to stay. Happy to say I was outta there!!
  18. We we have met a couple of times socially at B2mom and Vogel . I believe we'd be the VR version of the Odd Couple... that said, I will always remember when Dan called me out of the blue bc he saw a report of a venture getting into a bad accident in my home state. It was same year and color of my venture. I was riding that day and wondered who is calling. When he called to check on me after basically warming up to me at Vogel, I knew this guy was a loyal friend. Where I come from that holds major weight. I don't forget stuff like that.
  19. as a therapist, I find this statement: "it is going good" to be tough to believe 100000% when you have to take pain pills in the middle of the night. Just saying. Don't hurt me You correctional guys are all the same. I had a bear of a man whose arms looked like tree trunks, a correctional officer from WV, who was a bit hard to convince, with a torn rotator cuff, a complete tear, it's not good to be trying to lift bull dozier tires above your head, ( or high as he can anatomically allow) remember Dan: me friend, you no hurt friend...
  20. set smaller goals that will build momentum for the major goals. Stretch light, easy and with short time frame and build. As for convicts moving out of your way, I THINK you like me, but I also would be moving out of your way
  21. Right Dan! there is a big difference with the no pain no gain theory. When dealing with injury, rehabilitation from a musculoskeletal, nervous system functional mobility stand point, you do not want to push through pain. That's a myth and a bad one. Pain is telling you something is wrong, whether it's the amount, the technique, the structure involved is not ready to take on X tasks. You want fatigue, and soreness in the muscle, not pain. If you or anyone has pain, then my humble suggestion is to monitor and modify your current routine. What is often missed but crucial is a heavy dose of stretching before and after, with nice diaphragmatic breathing. Also, part of improving, and healing is rest, diet, sleep and decreased stress. Ya know I love ya Dan, your my guy. Get the guns back, but do it correctly. Don't stress and damage other areas in route to being the superman you want to be
  22. They have guys at certain spots snapping photos which you can order online if you'd like.
  23. H2O, I will keep my eyes open, looking for ya. As for taking it easy, of course. My first time was 2 years ago when at Vogel, I had the 2003 venture then. I was a bit nervous but rode my ride. Had other VR members in front and behind. Just stay calm, don't worry what the guy behind you thinks. Maybe have you between your buddies for a cushion. Either way have fun and breathe. I may tackle the dragon if time allows on the wing. All I know is if you get to do the dragon, make sure your bike and or helmet get the little dragon sticker. Can only get that at the place, not on line. Keep me posted. Maybe I'll see ya there
  24. Is is there anything or any place Eck doesn't know?. Nice Eck
  25. sorry, been busy. Decided on Bryson city this time. Some of the GW guys I know will be there so it makes things easier. I do appreciate everyone's opinion and thoughts.
