  1. Hello everyone I am interested in learning more about my 2003 venture which was recently purchased. I have ridden a total of 30 miles on it, but has 24xxx. I am confused and concerned about things such as the lowering kit, how it's on and any advice on what to look for. Was there any adjustments on the front end? Tires, brakes, electrical etc. the shop says all is good, but I feel weird not knowing much. I live in spring hill, and some that were on the left coast have expired memberships. I am willing to ride down and meet with anyone who is available and willing to show this newbie about RSV. Perhaps anyone in the Tampa / St. Pete/, or anyone near hillsborough, pasco, Hernando, citrus, counties. Heck, I will even trek to Ocala. There are some nice roads by me and some nice little beaches and bars / eateries if some want an excuse to ride this way I would appreciate all input and your time as well. No rush and perhaps there may be more free time after the holidays. I am open to suggestions. Thank you all. Barrycuda.
  2. I agree with tx2sturgis regarding sportsman guide. They have a decent selection and the prices are generously low. I have read that FROGG TOGGS are not for everyone. Recently, I rode from Tampa to Savannah, and it rained from the FL/GA border to my destination. I use FROGG TOGGS over my gear as well as Under just to keep any rain from soaking all I wear. I find them to be helpful, easy to store. Both top and bottoms are nice when you are riding through back roads and is 40+ miles with nothing but a soggy road to travel. I wear an alpinestars ultra yellow jacket for 3 seasons and S & S hi viz mesh for summer. I also wear olympia airglide overpants with rain liner. they are fabulous in most weather conditions. In the end, the best you can afford. Checking clearances from reputable places, Craigslist , and eBay may help. Just my 2 pesos...
  3. Don't know him, however wanted to wish him a speedy recovery and to wish he and his family happy holidays.
  4. This is a nice "contest" as well as a chance to mingle and learn about one another. My best Christmas was when I was formally integrated into my girlfriends 2 small children (1 and 3 y.o.) it was nice to have a family atmosphere from the dysfunctional family I originally came from. I left NYC in 2005 to head to Florida. Fast forward to this Christmas and my GF is now my gorgeous wife and those precious children have me wrapped around their fingers. I used to mind kids, and " wasting my time" with there nonsense. However, I realized I wasted a lot of my time being single, not knowing the joy and passion needed and given to make a family shine. I am thankful and grateful I was able to be open enough to be part of such a wonderful family. And it all started with those precious angels.... I do not mind if I win the contest, I am just trying to participate and learn something about myself as well as everyone here. Thanks for letting me share. ( now I head back to the forum where confusion sets in again
  5. Decisions ,decisions.....
  6. I am trying to contribute my 2 pesos, however I am literally 17 hours into owning any sort of yamaha venture. My thoughts are if you can swing the price and like the bike go for it. It cat inlay has an enormous amount of accessories . I agree with FREEBIRD, regarding having stuff you already like or want. I am vertically challenged and the bike I purchased with feedback from FREEBIRD , has barons lowering kit. Sadly I have no mechanical skills w/ these bikes, as my kawi is fuel injected with minimum components. Enough of my blabbering....bottom line, if you like the bike, get it. It looks amazing.
  7. You guys/gals have a great amount of material and someone stated they added info to their favorites . How exactly do I do this?.
