Adding Rear Lighting ?
Barrycuda replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I also have the 100 LED from them as well as an additional light bar that M16A1MECH/ Steve helped install on by far the coldest damn day in the history of Florida weather. Both lights definitely add safety and brightness. -

Steve, I was going to reach out to you this weekend. I am definitely going to be there Saturday. I may swing by Friday on the Vulcan, but will be there w the venture that Saturday. I certainly would love to meet up and get together. Let me know if you will be there and what time. Thanks -

Thanks for all your wonderful feedback and great suggestions. I did forget to mention I have a utopia back rest. That said, you all seem to have had the cure by risers and other minor mods, so I will keep me raspberry ( its the fastest and coolest color ). Lots of great advice along with, me addressing this after 6 months. hadn't thought of it that way.Guess I got caught up in the " newness" of a new bike. Ok, time to order those risers and go from there. Thank you again for taking time out of your personal lives to interact with me. I truly appreciate it. This is the best forum. -
I have been riding my 03 venture since I purchased it last November, about 6 months. I enjoy riding it and ride it more than my Vulcan 1500. I have noticed with rides over 150 miles, my Right side of my neck and shoulder get stiff, tight and painful and makes the rest of my miles a battle of wills. My modifications pertaining to my issue were the barons lowering kit ( which was already on the bike prior to purchase) and the butt butler. As a shorter guy , I needed the bike lower and my feet are flat. The bike overall handles fine and it has been carb synced, as serviced with fluids and such etc. I have dropped a considerable amount of money on getting the bike to top level. Recently, I came across a 2012 Vulcan voyager with ABS and 1900 miles. I would have to trade both the venture and the older Vulcan. I am at a tug of war, because I am tempted by the fact the bike is practically brand new, and has ABS and all the bells and whistles. I would have to pay the difference. I love the reliability of my current Vulcan and this venture. However, to keep on riding with the shoulder pain, isn't fun or pleasing. Yes, of course I can get the Flanders bars, but when is it enough? Am I giving up on the bike too soon? Please don't think I am whining, even though it certainly LOOKS like it. I am trying to decide which is better, 2 older but well taken care of bikes, or trade for the newer bike, and deal w one set of tires, servicing, insurance etc. I am not a rich guy, so I ask all of my breathe ten for the utmost, complete, non biased, subjective opinion . What info know about the kawi is that it is a 1700cc with ABS and 1900 miles. Test drove one a few months back and seemed nice. I am aware the heat output is almost unbearable and other owners wrap there's. no CD player which I like, no butt butler mod. I also have heard complaints about the flimsy bags and trunk doors. I am scheduled to test ride the bike and will see how she shifts. My current Vulcan shifts like no other, smooth, effortless. So....enough of my babbling, tell me whatcha think? Oh, btw...I have not made a definite decision Ribbing is always welcome, just please have some info as well.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery. Lots of companies pull this crap and mine is no exception. They force you to do that so naturally, THEY can save money at your expense. Geez.. You think the powers that be in corporate would do a better job of keeping valued people happy. Nope. As long as they get THEIR vacation. Get well soon. That's the important part.

I didn't want to figure low and get a PM stating I insulted you Anyway...I realize how I am on the opposite side of the planet when it comes to available riding time. You say 45-50k on EACH bike. Sh*t, I am tickled pink if I can get 4500 or more miles out of both bikes. Last year was 4300 miles TOTAL. That's a weekend trip for you. Ugh...I need to hit the powerball.

Trader: I am sorry you are dealing with this. These feelings can be overwhelming. 2 years ago last week, I lost my mom, who was everything to me. I watched her pass away after she was in a LTAC in New Jersey for 6 weeks. I was bedside the entire time. It still gets me choked up now. We all wish we can do more. I wish you peace through all this. Call me or email me anytime you wish to vent.

All is good. I appreciate you letting me know where you stand. Thank you.

IMO SilvrT, the victory doesn't look as nice as this bike, so I am certainly entitled to give my opinion, as you are yours ( stripped down wing, that's all it really is) So, yeah it's awesome...TO ME.

Congrats on the new bike Miles. I am predicting you will have close to 85-90K on speedo by years end. The bike looks awesome with its futuristic look and lines. The back looks sweet but also manly. I always value your insight, advice and posts, so stop riding your new pony to continue to post. And looking at your garage, how'd you get all those bikes to stand at attention so perfectly. Man, they really do few the rider! Great to know you are happy. Ride safe...

You certainly get an awful lot of information on this site.

Would someone be so kind as to explain what an AIS is? Where is it located and how to clean or unclog? Thanks

That was hilarious Miles. The fact you were able to come up with the VW goes 40, but the crosswinds are 50 mph is my favorite part. You should write children's books. Or write for the sci-FI network...

I think you are missing one important factor Mike. And that it the 2008 charcoal silver is the fastest of all the 2008 SILVERS, not the fastest overall. that's the raspberry delight -

Mike you do realize you are going to confuse this new member. Everyone one knows the 2 tone raspberry/ tan color is by far the fastest . C'mon now... -
Perhaps a very helpful idea about to hatch....

As Dion mentioned, there are specific things to look into. I am not as knowledgable as some of these savvy chaps but here is what helped ME handle the bike with more confidence as well as precision: MILES suggested 40 psi air on front and rear, since doing that handling has improved. The bike was also lowered with a barons lowering kit from previous owner, which helped me again with having feet on the floor. Some members do and some do not do that. Others recommend the front triple tree be adjusted. I have been handling mine without front adjusted. I am not tall, and was concerned with the wife on back. So far no issues. Next idea that made me feel better was to take a course on the venture to help me. Ride like a Pro instructor Jerry Palladino lives in my state and was fortunate enough to take the class. Was it easy? He'll no...read my post, but it did make me a better rider, no doubt. Next best idea is watch his you tube videos firs, but definitely get his DVD Ride like a Pro V... My suggestion is flush all fluids, check tire wear, check rear shock for signs of leaking, and all the necessary cleaning, flushing replacing of fluids. And brakes. At first I was leery and did not know if I wanted to keep the bike. However, you get pretty attached to it once you get over the initial concerns... Good luck. PM me if you wanna chat Barry -

Drats bossman, thought I was on to something. Back to the drawing board -
I hope this is a new and refreshing idea as opposed to piggy backing a previous post. As we all know we get people from all over the country and beyond here on this site. When reading posts I always see members posting what site they choose for this accessory or that part etc. so I propose, with the bossman's approval is this: Have a sticky or a section we can click on that shows ALL of the websites, places etc, that we get our gear, parts, tires, gloves , you name it. Perhaps have members add in their favorite places and perhaps next to it a brief description if its for parts, accessories, lighting etc. An example would be : custom dynamics - custom dynamics.com - LED and lighting. This may include any local mom and pop stores or dealers that have a great reputation and the city, state as well. Just a thought because a lot of you have many places I have never heard of and can't possibly keep writing them all down on scrap paper anymore... So... Any thoughts? Don?...

Eddie, my opinion is based solely on my own personal interaction with people. I ride with HOG groups and WINGs guys when it presents itself. Again, you'll find there are just some folks that just can not play nice in the sandbox, if the sandbox isn't a HD sandbox..
