  1. My vote is in...
  2. Angry, that's an excellent video. That guy covered all the bases. Over all, I do not see why the voyager isn't more popular. I do know early models did not have that vent to draw heat away and many complain of the intense, dangerous heat . I have not ridden one with the new dissipation set up...
  3. After reading all of these posts, I went on flea bay and purchased the 765 along with the ram hourglass double ball mount w U-clamp. I haven't had a chance to hook it up yet. My question is, even though its not specifically for a motorcycle, has anyone fond the directions and such catered to cars, putting us in a quandary regarding roads???
  4. Dion, I have an alpine stars hi viz jacket in yellow. It has saved me bacon a few times, especially on US 19, which is famous for its fatalities... I would say anything to be seen and heard is bettering your chances to avoid an issue. The vests at Walmart? Nah... Also, you can also try some hi viz tape and have them either on your bike or added to the jacket you currently have. My jacket is really bright and looks like radiation, but hey, as Miles says, "Those blue haired ladies in Florida" may actually see me...
  5. I have been contemplating a voyager since my other bike is a Vulcan. My bike is hands down THE most reliable, trouble free, low maintenance bike. I felt the venture was too big, bulky, and honestly, I am still not slam dunk sure of the bike, even though its been great to me. That said, the voyager, does not hold the value, it runs REALLY hot, especially on the R side where your leg feels like its being BBQd... Flip side, the bike handles marvelously, is low center of gravity for my short height and has modern features like CD player, fuel injection, and optional ABS. I rode one for an hour. Sweet bike. I agree the plastic is a tad flimsy, but ask yourself if that's a deterrent versus modern comfort creatures. The motor although a V twin, rarely if ever has problems. Mine is a 2000, 1500cc and it moves... I like the Harley Ultra classics and again is great for low center of gravity. They seem to have antiquated technology, along with the insane over priced tag that comes with it. You tube : victory versus Harley and see what that's about regarding the way Harley does things. Actually steered me away( again) from HD. The venture seems to have the best of what most people want and need. I agree the cabs and cassette deck need to be replaced with CD and FI... Currently I am still keeping my eyes open. Heading to Tennessee in a few weeks with he venture so I will get a true chance to see how she performs long distance...
  6. Amish, let me know how that shield works for you.
  7. Darkhorse: welcome to the forum. You can use aux cable by adding off the back of the cassette player the auxiliary and use that for an MP3 player which I use. You can also get a clarion CD player which fits either in the trunk or saddlebag. I use that as well. You can always add an XM or use a GPS that has SD card or satellite radio.
  8. +1 on that. I checked with eusa1/Mike, TMZ, Facebook and one of the Kardashians....
  9. I live 45 miles north of Tampa. However I have to pass on your generous idea, as I am not a hockey buff. That said, please keep me and the other Florida riders updated for any future events and or rides.
  10. Dan, everyone can tell you, THAT color combo as well as the year are by far the fastest of all RSV's Great looking bike...
  11. I believe the dealer by me is pretty great. Barney's of Brooksville. the parts guy Damian is a wizard and the head of service Barry is extremely competent, cooperative, friendly and eager to help. I a unsure about prices regarding tires etc However, they go above an beyond for me...and when I am done with them, you won't see this...
  12. Thanks for the info Mike...
  13. Hello gang, My 03 raspberry came without her tank badges and I am asking if anyone has an extra set or a pair they are interested in parting with? I am also interested in the YAMAHA oval trunk badge. I would be willing to pay a fair price or make a donation. Please make sure they are for the 2003. If you google 2003 yamaha venture under IMAGES, several of my raspberry bikes come up to display the actual tank badge. I appreciate any and all help. Thank you Barry
  14. Ha ha ha....I didn't even notice that it was so long ago. That'll show me next time to mind my bees wax
  15. Ricks mod is awesome. You're gonna love it...
  16. Angry, I bought mine already lowered since P.O. Was shorter as well. I have not changed the front, the dealer suggested I do not. Also sent the seats for the butt butler mod. I am 5'8 on a good day, and I have both feet flat. Mind you if I have to back this beast up a hill, I am screwed, but as far as riding, no issues. I haven't bumped or scraped anything. Even took the ride like a pro course with it BEFORE the butler mod and Jerry himself rode the bike into 18 foot circles. I haven't dropped the bike and I am no ride like a pro. Since you are close by, you are welcome to swing by and take it for a spin. See how ya like it. If you want to, PM me for the day and time and such. Hope it helps, but most likely just added to the mess ....
  17. I am not defending FOYERBOY on his rant here. I do disagree with the bld thread title, and that maybe he was trying to lighten things up, towards the end. I do think he was entitled and was certainly welcome to share his experiences with us so we can me more alert for things. I certainly want to know places that may be shady or not forth wright, and the majority here say that the shop does right by them. Lets TRY to keep an open mind and FOYERBOY, keep posting, but perhaps just tweak the titles just a tad. This VR forum is great and we should always just see others' point of view from time to time. I believe he meant well but botched up the delivery...
  18. Dion, Steve and. Met up on Saturday morning and it was slammed. Saw a venture riding on the interstate but not headed to Leesburg. A few royal stars and many kawasaki vulcans, not too many ventures. Chatted with a guy who is 74 years old and he has a red royal star, says he started riding at age 62 and would never stop riding.... Overall a great weekend weather wise for this event
  19. That is pretty cool and nice of you to do that Miles. I guess you may have to start posting your tour dates...
  20. Geez guys. I feel like a chump. I did 780 miles on a Saturday/ Sunday trip from my home to Dothan Alabama on my Vulcan. ALL backroads and streets. No highways. Same bike , backroads, and streets again from home to savannah, Ga in one weekend. I am looking forward to breaking my own record... Miles, over 2k in 24 hours. I laugh because I am elated to get over 3500 per YEAR... You guys are awesome...
  21. Anytime and thank you for all our good work.
  22. Likewise Mike, I enjoyed talking with you. As you read this my brain is trying to come up w a scheme to get outta Dodge without any colossal issues I am working on it. Also, Miles reluctantly agreed to " hold my hand" regarding teaching me about the bike, so yeah, I am trying...
  23. Congrats Miles on the new 2 wheeled Stealth bomber... I am wondering if the cassette player on the new purchase is any better than on the other bikes?
  24. Welcome to the forum. As the other mentioned, no pics, no RSV... As for the wait, I know. I bought mine last November and wouldn't ya know the temps were in the 70's ! Talk about bad luck... I already met and dealt with some WONDERFUL people here. It's worth the $12.00 . You will get info and opinions up the wazoo. Just not too much from me. I am still fresh out of the box. Have fun riding.
  25. Bob, Playboy sent me some risers and I am going to go that route first. Met with Steve K. At Leesburg bike fest today and as usual, had great pointers. Will see this week how it pans out before dipping into Flanders territory. I appreciate the heads up on the reroute and the longer cables and lines. Good looking out... Barry
