I get the least amount of time in the seat as well as miles covered in the premium summer months. When I do ride it's normally early or late PM. It's just too darn hot for mid day heat and humidity while in stop and go traffic . The IR should prove interesting...

Who knew there were all these personal protocols and regulations. For me, I would like it to be on my bike first and foremost, then a friends, then a rental. Regardless of which bike, I do have to actually ride the bike minimum of 25 miles in that state for my own "logical" reasoning to qualify... Either way, make up your own rules and go for it!!!

I found a loaded Taurus judge in the bathroom of a McDonalds, when I was coming back from M61A1MECH house for the first time, last winter. Was laying right there. Unloaded the ammo and turned into the manager. I could just imagine what would have happened if a young adult or knucklehead found it before I did. That said, it is a NICE firearm

I'd be for it as well if I had the secret service protecting me with THEIR GUNS everywhere I went too Mr. President

very very rare pic of a Puc that will make even the best of you cringe..

Exactly! mine are 10 and 7, and I sit and think about just a few years ago, she was being potty trained, and she wasn't in school, learning reading, be a lil person. My son also, insightful, quiet, loves and can recite history, and shooting his.22. I thought I was teaching him to tie his shoes only yesterday -
Voyager all the way. Tuff tom on this site has one, IDK what year and he takes it to all the events. Maybe you can reach out to him and see what wisdom he can give you. I was going to buy one as my first bike, before I saw the Vulcan. it will fit right in, as the voyager also has a cassette player I think?

I am glad we cancelled because not only did I capitalize on moving a ton of stuff before the change in weather, I certainly don't want any of us fighting through. The elements just over a cheeseburger. If any of you have suggestions for the scheduled make up meet, I'm all ears...

Ben, I rode that and the other version, the chieftain?? In Daytona. Loved the bikes. The tour guide at the back was having fits bc I was slowing down to make U turns, adjusted the radio to all metal stations etc. the guy was ready to kill me or pass out... Excellent riding bike and such gorgeous colors. Especially that tan leather. Wow

Goose, I have to say, perhaps with certain overpants, one may find it troublesome to put on/off and keeping in leg heat. I have Olympia overpants. They have side zippers all the way up, and Velcro at the bottoms to cover ankles in rain. They take less then 20 seconds to put on and off. These also have pockets front and rear and padding. Easy to fold and store in saddle bag. Just my 2 cents. It's an option, and I want to just let whoever is interested in maybe trying overpants to know that the Olympia version is not a hassle whatsoever. Does get toasty in the Florida summer, but I'd rather sweat a bit then......

Do you think the HD dealer would allow me much on 2 Ventures
Barrycuda replied to YamaDuck's topic in Watering Hole
Maybe after stepping away a bit you can come back refreshed and follow what Puc and the rest are suggesting. HD dealer will most definitely chew you down on both bikes and maybe even more if one or both RSV acts up in front of them. HD are very tempting, yes. But you seem to know how to navigate around an RSV from reading past posts. If you truly have had it, and want to switch bikes, why not consider a honda or Vulcan or nomad ? Still liquid cooled and much more reliable, in the grand scheme of things. Or ...see about getting a HD if they will throw in a free trailer... this is what it will look like from the car next to you... -

First and foremost to Puc and Tip, Congrats on the graduating daughter, your sacrifice paid dividends ten fold... Second, I almost broke my ass when I saw your pic as I fell down. That pic looks photoshopped. Where's the homeless guy beard?, where's the this dust storm is killing me squinty eyes? Where is the 500 things you pack on the back seat of a bike? Where is that infamous gas can? I am glad you are such a good egg. Again, congrats on the family success... Now rip those clothes off and never, ever put them on again. ( unless, Tippy says so) -
+1 on caliber not a big deal. People get hurt or killed with a .22. Knowing HOW to shoot, under stress, with all going on, is what matters. What they show in the movies or gangsta rap videos is BS...

Yes, let's cancel. I do not wish for any of us to be caught by these bad storms. It's not worth it. We can and should reschedule.
-
That's tour master is I believe some level 3 model. I see them at Daytona all the time. Look durable and nice.

Stinks overall because of all the craziness with weather and peoples schedules, mainly mine, and lastly the group of 4-6 that are usually attending, not attending. Like I said, I'll probably skip it and reschedule. Something in Valdosta works but it's quite a ride for some of us here. For me it's close to 200miles. I did over 400 round trip at Naples. Perhaps we can get some of us to make it a weekend kind of deal... Just a thought.

Trish, That's nuts, do not ride out here under that scenario At the rest of the group: thank you for your understanding and kind words. I may just pass on this because of all that's involved. Next week KC and the kids go to Missouri for a week with my in laws. I'm staying here. Plan on me NOT going this time, but if I go, it will be nice to see Dion and Tom again, as well as to meet newer faces!!! have fun and ride safe.

Go to as many different stores as you can. Try on all the makes, models and sizes. Some fit and look better than others. I have a nice leather jacket from a local store here in floral park, which since closed down. It's a nice armored leather jacket. Another option is to try them on in a store and see about price shopping online, since you will already know the size and model...

I have chaps and overpants, by Olympia. I use them much of the time. Why? Easy to put on, has side zippers, can wear whatever work pants, because I can not wear jeans to work, or shorts etc. they have a rain liner for bad weather, and pockets. These also have knee and hip pads. Will they stop a speeding bullet? Hardly. May not even stop a speeding pigeon, but it's better than straight jeans. Some people will gripe about wearing them in the Florida sun. I got used to it and again, after you reach your destination, it's literally 15 to remove and fold. Chaps I will wear sparingly in cold weather or for looks mainly. I doubt it'll save my bacon... Now with me on a GW, chaps will look weird...

Ok, thanks for letting me know

Nice firearm. The older German made Walthers are more desirable. I also keep my firearm with me as you never know... Like one of the other members stated, I feel weird/naked without it. I carry mainly a SW MP40, as well as a SIG P229 40 cal. Others I have is a custom Kimber and a XD 9

My beautiful wife and I closed on our house this week and are up against a time clock. So, those who are DEFINITELY going, please let me know. I have been contemplating not going, but since I was the one who initially started this, I feel like I should be there. If the storm chances increase, or many of those are changing their mind, I will stay here and get house stuff done. PLEASE, everyone, let me know. I'm down either way, but would like to at least know where everyone stands.

Personally, I would rather get the usual gang. geez and brake pad and gaucho can't make it, Brian sold his bike and Tom with a cage? That's crazy. Perhaps the timing isn't what is meant to be. I am uncharacteristically thinking of postponing for those previous reasons mentioned. It's not anything I am the boss of, but at same time, we can postpone till the timing is more conducive .

Ha ha...one says lets do it, the other doesn't. Ha ha.. Well let's just go ahead, especially if it's not stormy
