Well travelled riders, please come with your thoughts and ideas...
Barrycuda replied to Barrycuda's topic in Watering Hole
Big Lenny, thanks for the information. After consulting with the wife and meeting a few of the wingers in the past that state they're going, I decided to hit Bryson city in a few weeks. That said, I certainly have had hot springs on my list. When I am able to free up enough days to get there, hang and get back, I will reach out to you. I'd love to meet up... -

nice list. Basically you need to make a hybrid to make this list. -

btw, one doesn't "settle" for a Goldwing. Riding one is anything but.... -
I don't care where she's from, I want to make sure she's at WV when I'm there

http://www.macesoftware.com/gowv.jpg That alone has my vote. Hey, If she and those like her were in Ontario, during a January Blizzard, I'd find a way to get there. PS: I'm starting to really like WV

How far have you driven on Reserve Fuel?
Barrycuda replied to Du-Rron's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I rode on the reserve about 26 miles coming back from Tennessee a few years back. It started sputtering while on the Interstate. thankfully the gauge and light actually worked correctly, so I can count the miles -
The pic of the Goat is just awful to look at while I am trying to read your important info PUC. It's a distraction and makes me vomit. That said, good pic

Questions that will be with answers for Up coming Agenda's
Barrycuda replied to Brake Pad's topic in Watering Hole
that would work for me. Im about 3 hours west of there, but any excuse to go to Daytona, Ormand beach and to hang with Steve is always a great ride -
I use and have used nevr dull ( spelling is correct) for a long time. It doesn't seem as if it should work as well as it does. Just a small piece does a good amount. Real dirty pieces may need a second go around.

I don't have a dog in the fight as they say, but perhaps it is a 1800 AFTER the kit was installed. My guess is that Steve is trying to bring to anyone's attention who is willing to listen is that FROM THE FACTORY, mother Yammy never made a "true" stock 1800. Anyone's HP and numbers can go up with modifications, and that's cool to some. Steve was just pointing out that from Japan, inside the crate, never opened, there was never a factory built 1800. -

biketoberfest has been getting a tad bit disappointing last 2-3 years. Same basic vendors, the section that I believe called beach street used to have shops and vendors and they are gone. Crowds increase with less space to walk let alone ride. I used to go every year, then every 2 years. I don't think I'll miss much. SSDD.... -
Joe, now if I can convince my wife... 2nd week in October the GW guys are heading to Bryson city, NC for the chili cook out thingamajigee. You're not going?

painterman67, I do not know why you feel that by switching to a Roadstar that you're being ignored or singled out? Plenty of members ride other bikes. Heck, some don't even own bikes anymore. I am not in any way suggesting you aren't feeling what you are. However if true, I'd be quite shocked and embarrassed at the forum members who do make it uncomfortable. The forum should always first and foremost be about the members, the people. The ride shouldn't and from my experiences hasn't been an issue. Certainly hope it was just a small case of bad timing. Almost everyone I've dealt with have been at least cordial. And, if you don't like me on the forum because I ride a non RSV, then tough, talk to the boss, who happens to ride a HD -

This last year has been incredibly slow for Florida meet and greets. Year before it was rocking as we saw 8-14 people every 8-12 weeks. I miss that. Been too damn hot this summer. As the weather cools, I'd like to see that back up and running. Mike, I put it out there last month or so and it just fell flat. I cant nor won't make people go. My life is just as busy with 2 jobs, college classes and kids, so I get it. But hey, it would be nice if more people took an interest just in the local M and E and then build the camaraderie to go as a group to IR or other events... as for the IR, I believe it has to do with distance, availability and cash. Some people don't have any one or combo of that. And I have to be fair to my family if they want to do something with me. My kids spend half the summers with their dead beat dad so that leaves limited time. And, takes time and money to get a hotel, set up shop participate for a week. All that said, I enjoy your enthusiasm but each player on the forum has their own reasons. However, I would agree with Mike about if you have the means, please make a concerted effort. I've been to 1 Vogel, 1 IR and one B2Mom BBQ in last 2 years, all away from my family and home state. They are fun, reasonably organized and the people are always a hoot. ( see any meeting in person with cowpuc). PS.... You can bring your family to these events if possible -
Update: Not a debate!!! Just want opinions
Barrycuda replied to sleadhed's topic in General Tech Talk
I has avon on mine and I loved them. Because they come with a bad rap for bubbles and misc nonsense, I told my dealer, they were great at inspecting and sent one tire back. Me personally, they were awesome tires in the sun and rain. Travelled half way cross country w them. Not a single issue. Sold bike but never used another tire for that RSV. There is your lead off opinion. -
Prayers for my wife
Barrycuda replied to kbran's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Prayers to your wife for a speedy recovery and a clean bill of health. Prayers to your family as well. -
Mike is not only exceptional at doing this, he is one of the most genuine, nicest guys you want to be around. Highly recommended. And the diamond cut makes it pop...

like Steve I never seemed to have any issues regarding battery draining once the bike was off. Does it depend on the bike? The connections? Any excess electrical farkles?
-
I hate stupid people also. More so those who intentially want to put me and my beautiful wife in harms way. People such as these A-holes need a lesson in eventually messing with the wrong one...

Thanks Don! I have immediate family who are LEO, friends who are Florida state troopers, and I myself was close to becoming a LEO. They will always have my respect and admiration. Of course there are bad apples, but by and large they are doing a job many refuse to do. If any current or retired LEO ever needs my assistance from a Gatorade to a place to stay to having to defend his life, I'll be there helping...

now I'm really excited to go up there. However with 9 days left the polls are pretty competitive....

mike, if you're up for it, I'd like to join you. Sounds like some great people...
