  2. the next time you go to the stealership, hold on to your wallet.... yama mamma just put a 20% increase across the board on all parts and accessories.
  3. now if "works performance" would only make it air adjustable!!
  4. $719.40 IS THE LATEST LIST PRICE FROM MOTHER YAMAHA!! hellava program to keep jacking up the price on a product that has not improved. grrrrr:soapbox:
  5. i am on my 4th shock. about 20k between each shock, however i agree with the last statement, there are alot of variables. i ride 1 up most of the time, and 2 up with a trailer at times. mike.
  6. looks like ya got all the clues ya need for now. was nice to talk with you joe, talk again soon. mike.
  7. if the oil leaks out of your shock and it still holds air...... this is what has happened to most of the 2nd gen machines. you can ride it that way, however it will ride like a pogo stick when you hit a bump unless you let most or all of the air out of the shock... and without air and oil, ya get the hard tail ride. the "works performance" shock is a great product, however, does not have an adjustable air chamber that would allow for quick load or ride quality changes. most times the shock will give you some warnings such as a squeeking or squaking when you first sit on it before the days ride. mike.
  8. any of the several diamond r products, like the chrome wind deflectors with stanless mounts.... they make for more light than the passing lamps "very reflective"
  9. who let the boomer out???
  10. with pekin $314.00 a year $250.00 deductible replacement coverage with $13k in accessorie coverage. many folks don't know that all those add on chrome goodies and gizmoes that you add to your skuter will not be covered unless they are listed prior to any claim. some companies charge an additional fee to cover them, and some do not. pekin does not charge any additional fees, they only require that they be aware of any added items prior to a claim. i update my list a couple times a year. update your list, before it's too late. mike
  11. your gunna tow this rig with a monte carlo??
  12. very well said. cheapest is not allways the cheapest...
  13. i have a used set of these controles that i purchased a while back, and had plans to send them to the chrome shop untill i noticed that they are not the same as my venture. the venture controles have cruise buttons that the royal star like your does not. this set that i have to sell are the same as yours. they are complete with buttons and plug and play wire harness for both sides and i cant use them. make me an offer or a trade that we can both live with, and i will send them your way. they would still need to be chromed. mike.
  14. try pekin insurance, i insure all my bikes for less than your quote for 1. mike.
  15. i put 20-25k per year on my venture, and have had all the major brands, i run michelin commanders and have no plans to go back to any others. they last longer for me than any others that i have run, and hold the road in rain and stick in the curves better. your sure to open a can of worms with this question. mike
  16. i have already purchased yamaha's for all of my survivors..... but i see your way of thinking hmmmm??
  17. ok, i will bite??? what's a reserve cover??
  18. they will not even ask to see the trailer,, call it home made and run with it. does mine look home made? it is.
  19. My warranty on my rsv has just expired on the last day of the year 2009, and i have had several warranty repairs completed over the years, as i have on my other yamaha products. On any warranty repair that is completed by the manufacture, it will generate a survey to the consumer, that asks all the questions about product quality, sales, service, parts ect... and as for myself being in the service end of dealerships over the past few dacades, i know that these surveys can affect the pocketbook of any and all of the dealership personell and even the dealership owners cost per unit from the manufacture in the way of employee insentive$ and reward programs. With that in mind, i have always given my dealer a 100% satisfied survey on each repair over the past many many years, even when things may not have gone completly perfect. In all of the many surveys and years, i have never recieved anything from the manufacture "yamaha" in the way of a "thank you"........untill now?? Yamaha just sent me a package that contained a very nice letter, thanking me for filling out my surveys and along with the letter was a new yamaha blue.. apple ipod nano!! maybe them surveys dont take too long to fill out huh? who woulda thunk it?
  20. jeff, i did use the allen heads for the switch mounting, but only had the standard flat blade screws for the tumbler cover, it really don't matter as they are all under the black cover when your done. i will have to go out and pull one out to get you the size info, maybe in the morning? mike
  21. free food??? don't bother with it jeff!! i'm all over it! :178:you said the magic words!
  22. thanks for looking out for me!!
  23. jeff, you may want to split the new ignition switch in advance of any failure, so that you can key it to match. its very easy, the screws are also anti theft style.
  24. plenty of venture owners above 150k miles without any trouble. tell us where your located and we may be able to point you to a member or dealer with a used machine. mike
  25. drill a small hole into the center of the screw and put an easy bit out into the hole. that what i did on 3 bikes. mike. do you have a spare ignition switch?
