  1. i put a set of polk audio db 401 speakers in the front and rear of my rsv, last year and never got around to posting pics. here they are and i hope they will help you. purchase some wire terminal ends that fit the speakers before you start the project along with some two sided tape to reatatch rear arm rest covers, and note that the screws under the rear armrest are different in length. solder all your connections e-mail with any questions?? mike
  2. as many members here have done, i purchased the bolt kits for my saddlebags that make it easier and quicker to remove the bags from my venture without tools. however, after chasing the bolts and the washers and the rubbers and the spacers all over the garage floor as you move the bags from the bike to the bench for cleaning or whatever?? i came up with a simple sullution to keep the junk together! these are common to the automobile and bodyshops and called retainer clips that held the emblems on the fenders of cars, before they started gluing everything on. also called star washers, and can be purchased at most hardware stores. put all your spacers washers rubbers and stuff into place on the bags and then stick this retainer over the end of the bolts to keep everything together. works, and it's cheap!
  3. ok you tan bib wanters!! call nanci rogers @ ace high leathers 530-905-0505 Nanci@shasta.com Ace High Leathers 5738 Ager Beswick Rd Montague, CA 96064 she already has the pattern for the venture, as her husband kenny, was a rsv owner years ago. he also had a set of my diamond cut cylinder heads done. tell her that tall fella from Illinois sent ya!! mike

  6. don't get me started on star again!! yes i do the diamond cut fins and have the black and the silver ones on hand so that you don't have any down time. i send mine out to you, and you send yours back for me to use for the next guy. black for black and silver for silver i don;t care to swap for different colors. $400.00 and your old ones in return. mike there are seven members on this site and a few more on the venturers site that have my work done on their bikes, that may chime in about the bling.

  11. nice trailer, i could maybe take it off your hands and give you a dollar or two af proffit, but uhm ahh, hmmm ya gotta keep the snow, i have plenty of that thanks!! looks like ya got yerself a hellavabargain there! mike
  12. put some dryer fabric sheets around the areas they get into and the dog food area, and they will go away. mike.
  13. the fabric sheets do work, if you remove the pet food or bird seed food or food trash of any kind from the parking area, the problem will generaly go away also. i scatter fab sheets around the garage every fall, and the mice stay away and the garage smells better too. i have heard that the irish soap works, but have not tried it. mike
  14. thank you, i enjoyed that small break from the snow drift. mike

  17. i have owned both 1st and 2 nd gen ventures, i had more concerns with the 1st gen, and i think its because the 1st gen had more electronic gizmoes to fail. and had air ride pump ect... even with those concerns i must say that i enjoyed every mile. and it did handle the twisties better than my 2nd gen. but as i get older, i really enjoy the extra overall room to stretch out on my 2nd gen. no tupperware to hit my knees on...i'm 6'6" with 38"inseam. As long as yamaha does not change the venture, my 2nd gen will hold it's value longer, i remember when they came out with the 2nd gen, the value of my first gen dropped like a rock, and was several years before the value came back up on the 1st gen and if you look, you will see that the value of the 1st gen is higher now than it was in 99 or 00 there's my $.02 mike

  21. harry, i like the lights!! you now have 2 ventures?? that will keep ya bz and broke! i tried that for about six months. i like the green better than the mm colors, but they are both very nice. it's really ez to make the lights dual functional for running and brakes. mike
