  1. I have a couple sets of stock venture pipes, one of the sets have never been run, i took the bike out of the crate myself and removed them before i ever put a drop of fuel into the bike. i would be glad to sell them or trade them for the rite pipes?? mike
  2. Rick, give me a call, i'm off tues, wed, thursday this week. we could meet along the road for breakfast and i could show you the river road route, and maybe have lunch in Balltown Iowa. as others have stated, the river road and Pikes peak state park are very nice, a few of the venture riders and the wife and i, were just up there last weekend. mike.
  3. spray some lube onto the kickstand switch plunger and work it a bit...it will be fine common concern. mike was nice talking with you richard, be safe and ride again soon!! stick around, there's a bunch of goofs in this place!!
  4. condor, i hope the picture/ diagram i sent to you will help, and that it answers the questions that you have. i don't have any problems with lights flickering or power loss, or self cancel signals at the bike, with the relays in place. feel free to post it for others if you can get it to resize properly. green right signal brown left signal blue tail lamp yellow brake lamp black ground
  5. so tell me sumthin sister??? whatcha been doin to need all them shots??
  6. between the battery and the rear fender " remove the seat" there is a harness there that you can access the wires, i purchased male and female yamaha style conectors and soldered them into the harness to make it removeable for my next rsv. then run/ zip tie them along the saddlebag frame rails to your hitch point. into a flat 5 rubber connector.. this is what i did on both my rsv's i also put relays in each wire feed to protect the bike and the trailer from any shorts, and to make my auto cancel signals perform properly. mike
  7. that "annie" sure gets around??? i think i may have to take "star dawg" to the vet and get him checked over:shock3: :moon:mike
  8. the warranty goes with the bike, it expires 5 years from the original date of new sale, and does not matter how many miles or how many owners. if a dealer wants to charge you a fee to put your name into the yamaha system a/k/a transfer warranty... tell em to pound sand! it don't cost anything for them or for you. true, you should see the title before making the purchase, to make sure it is not a salvage repair or theft recovery "branded title" different states have diffent laws and most of them suck for the new owner of someone elses problems. call the local yamaha dealer and ask them when the "start date" is ? that will tell you when your five year coverage ends. oh, and i have 1 second gen tank badge left over in my collection, that you can have.. now wave your arms and another member will step up with another... good grief don't pay the stealerships price for them! pm me mike

  13. if it has been less than 12 months since the last shock was replaced, the dealer can do a "parts warranty ticket" and get it covered. mike
  14. if the back seat rider was not in the box............it could be free-bird.... i could not pass up the chance:confused24:. mike
  15. have seen several times where bugs or road debris will stick to the lower half of the fork leg covers and make noise when the 2 parts telescope inside of each other. lean the bike over on the kickstand and pull back on the bars to make sure the front forks are fully extended, and then take a bug sponge and give them fork covers a good scrub! to remove any debris..........then report back. mike
