  8. Chris, your request for a "new" 2009s is very simple to find and could be purchased from the yamaha dealer of your choice. go to your favorite yamaha dealer and ask them to perform a "dealer search" for the model that you want. every authorized yamaha dealership is required to keep unsold models on this list for this reason. they can locate the dealer nearest to you and do a dealer to dealer purchase or dealer to dealer trade and get all the normal markup and profits of that model years sale price and you still get the full 5 year warranty....ect... if your dealer won't do this for you, then give me a call and come to Illinois and buy if from my dealer.... he locates and sells non current models all the time. the search only takes a few key strokes and don't cost a dime. mike.
  9. there is no link or picture here mel???
  10. this is a common concern with that generation of gm trucks... the reason is because the heater core is located higher in the firewall than the highest point of the radiator and allows air to get trapped in the system when repairs are performed. yes a good gm mechanic that has a few gray hairs, will know this and have the tools to burp the air from the system "some have the bleeder " some early models do not have them. poor mans fix??? you ask?? park your truck with the nose of the truck higher than the dash, jack it up, or park in the ditch.... then remove the radiator cap, turn on the heater at the defroster setting and lowest blower speed, start the truck and let it idle for about a half hour, and add some coolant whenever the level drops. you may have to add a few times as the air works it's way to the radiator, don't be afraid to let a bit of coolant burb out onto the ground and if you have an hour to spare, you can be certain that all the air is gone. put the cap back on and put it back on level ground and get back to us with your results. mike

  21. i have the bubs on my 2nd 2003 venture and they have near 200k on them now. i went through 3 sets of the factory chrome tips from bub because they covered two sets and told me the 3rd set was "new and improved chrome"... so i bought them... well ..nope the chrome still sucked. i took an old set of tips down to the local chrome shop and they told me the problem with the chrome peeling was due to the lack of a copper pre coating before the chrome plating.... so they machined the mounting surface down to a smaller diameter to allow for the extra layer of copper and tripple coating of chrome... and they have lasted a 2 seasons and still look great. i have used the moose brand packing wrapped VERY tight ! in 2 layers (as thick as i could fit into the pipe) and it last about 50k before it starts to get louder. mike
  22. oh, thank you i have those on mine and they are starting to peel/ pit also. might have to send them to the local chrome shop this winter. mike
  23. what are the "frame covers" that you speak of?? i'm interested in anything chrome... peeling or not. mike
  24. the filters would have to be k&n if there are any with the air boxes, because the factory yamaha filters will not work under the yamaha chrome covers. if you look at the yamaha site, they state that the k&n filters are required upon installation of the new covers. i have them on mine and yup the price was nutts!! but hey it's CHROME!!! who painted over :mo money:chrome??? wtf??
