just went on line with fomco and the sensors on the back of that vehicle do not have any adjustment and don't have any tsb software updates or anything. all of the sensors are the same on the back of that machine, so you might try swapping the left and right sides and see if your exhaust vapor concern is still there or not it would be a cheap way to test the sensor... mike

WHAT?? no fire wrench??

see if the manufacture of the helmet you have, makes a double wall snowmobile shield and you wont have any more issues with fog. mike

i agree with crazy frog. i wear what i wear, and the only thing that changes that is the weather. sure i wear a leather jacket when its cold, but it really doesn't matter if i'm on the bike or in my truck. as for the folks with the harley sticker in the back window of the cage... i often thought the same thing about the wanna bee bikers that cant afford the bike, but could afford the sticker, or the tee shirt or the doo rag...ect... however??? the other way of looking at this wanna=bee biker, is that the more stickers he buys and doo rags he wears, the more that people are aware of bikes, and the more they might watch out for them, and the more they watch out the better for you and me to survive on the open road......... so i say....... "let em wanna bee" and "let em watch out for me" and yes..... i must admitt, i purchased a $350.00 tony lama cowboy boots back in 1986 while i lived in texas, and never saw a horse....damn they were cool... they are still in the back of the closet.....not for me.. there is a Venture sticker in the back window of my truck too. mike

I am at the end of my rope on the RSV not turning over

who do you call when the {undertaker} passes away?? that was his user name wasn't it?? -
the first gen was quicker and carved the turns better than the 2nd gen the 2nd gen has much more leg room and passenger room than the first gen. I'm 6'6'' 275 and 38 inch inseam, so the 2nd gen has much more room for me and a passenger, however i sure miss the 1st gen when i get into the twisties. the 1st gens had more lights and gizmoes available from yamaha and ventureline and markland the 2nd gen looks more like a motorcycle and less like a goldwing or a tupperware bike as many have called it. they both tow a trailer without any concern. mike

too all you would be fire fighters that wish to add heat/fire to this broken fuel tank mounting bolt that is surounded by plastic neck cover beside the plastic fairing, right near the fuel tank vent hose next to the fuel tank...............please don't offer any maint days that will bring others near to you fire axe. mike.

I had the same thing happen to my first rsv, and did all the same things that you have done. Ended up drilling through the center of the bolt with a drill bit that was just a bit smaller than the bolt. Then cleaning the threads with a metric tap. There is enough metal there to tap to the next size or two larger, if you need to. Good luck, mike

give us some more info......we can fix most anything with enough info??? -
well??

Several of you are near to the problem, and near to the fix. The answer that i offer is for the fella that does not have much more than a tackle box of tools and limmited knowlege , so if this is above or bellow your situation...take it for what it's worth. The chrysler product in question has a heater core that is located at a level that is a bit higher than the fill level of the radiator, thus allows air to get trapped in the upper level of the core, this allows the core to hold a smaller level of hot coolant and cools off sooner when the coolant is not being replaced at higher speeds/ higher flow. Park your old faithfull chrysler with the nose of the car as high in the air as you can, maybe even some jack stands or ramps, or a steep driveway, then open the radiator cap and let the engine idle with the cap removed and the heater set at hot and the blower set at the lowest level...not on defrost and not on high blower...just hot heat setting. Add fluid untill full and at full running temp. This will burp the air out of the top of your heater core. And return the heat at idle, however if it returns in short order, then you need to find out where the system is leaking coolant that allows for the air to happen. Mike
