Are the cheaper John Deere lawn tractors any good?
eusa1 replied to midnightventure's topic in Watering Hole
if it is a true jd it will have a yellow deck if its a cheap knock off from the big box store, the deck will be black there is a difference in the quality, but there is a huge difference in the price too. best answer was from r.r. depends on the amount of use that it will get.- 8 replies

get the slide in extentions for the sides and purchase some no slip tape for the on and off trips...money very well spent unless your legs are longer than mine, you will require them because your legs won't reach the floor once your pulled up to the wheel chock ontop of the lift. i only have a 38 inch inseam. enjoy.Mike

ALLEN AND PATTI, YOUR PRODUCTS AND GREAT CHROME QUALITY ARE ONLY EQUALED BY YOUR GREAT ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Thank you both for your support of this site and making the products for our ventures. CHROME IS MY FAVORITE COLOR TOO! MERRY CHRISTMAS! MIKE & CHERIE, Dixon Illinois

the exhaust manifolds from a 305 will not bolt up to a 350 on the passenger side. so, yes you can change engine sizes, but you should keep your original fuel system/intake and you wont have to change the computer, as the o2 sensors will adjust for more or less fuel requirements for the larger or smaller displacement engine. the 305 was a fine motor, and will run as well as most 350 engines, however a replacement rv cam while swaping the intake is money well spent. the factory cams were very soft in most 305s and would wear out premature and cause poor performance. stick with whatever the truck came with, less headaches, less guesswork. mike

heck yes, yamaha has the numbers.... this is not a quest to get info for them, rather it's a request for information to prove them wrong, and to let them know that we have the numbers and will be available for the next venture owner that has trouble getting coverage...........the only fool here is the guy that thought yamaha did'nt have the numbers:doh: thanks again for all the numbers folks, and i don't care what country they are from!! i would like to have them all, and when i am done making the list, i will give it to freebird for anyone that may need future help. mike -
boo, you still have the can cooler i gave ya?? works well for me, and if you use a coffee or soda glass from the gas station, just get 2 cups and the outside one will stay tight in the cozy and keep the drink cooler or hotter longer and easier to get in and out of the holder, and holds the sweat from dripping all over your clean fuel tank.. mike

mine have all made a groan noise prior to leaking oil and then giving the pogo stick ride. this is my third venture and i have replaced several shocks on all of them, without any problems from mother yamaha. i guess it's just another product of the current state of economy and cut backs. thanks to all that have mailed to me, and all that will. i will report after my talk with the rep. mike royalstarventure03@yahoo.com -
800-962-7926 yamaha customer service number have your vin number ready when you call.

I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH A REP. FROM YAMAHA USA FROM CALIFORNIA, AND THE YOUNG LADY TELLS ME THAT THERE IS NO KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE REAR SHOCK FAILING ON THE 2ND GEN VENTURE OR THE TOUR DELUXE??? WHAT I AM REQUSTING FROM ANY MEMBER OR NON MEMBER HERE, IS A LIST OF VIN NUMBERS OF MACHINES THAT HAVE HAD THE REAR SHOCK FAIL, AND IF IT WAS COVERED BY YAMAHA OR IF IT WAS OUT OF POCKET? I DON'T HAVE TO HAVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION, JUST SERIAL NUMBERS OF THE FAILED BIKE. POST IT HERE OR SEND IT DIRECT TO MY E-MAIL royalstarventure03@yahoo.com thanks for your help, i would love to choke the dist. rep with a list of known failures and even better, if they were covered under warranty. mine has been replaced 3 times, and needs a 4th and my warranty ends at the end of this year and they don't want to help. any seat replacements and vin numbers would also be welcome thanks, mike/eusa1

where in illinois are you ? oldgoat? the tanks on that bike are known to rust out around the petcock, so look at that before making other repairs. let me know if you need any help, these bikes are very easy to work on, and will make a good starter machine for your s/o . mike

my 2nd new 2003 rsv and it has 98,000 miles on it and had zero miles december 31st of 2005 when i took it out of the crate. the bike runs as good or better than new, with regular service. my first 03 had 40,000 in september of 05 when it was totaled. a friend in MA. has a 1999 rsv with 180,000 miles and never had any major repairs. enjoy the ride. mike

I am glad that you are enjoying your local club, and i wish you all well. that being said, i would like to see your reactions in the event that you should try to have a fund raising ride to generate funds for a local organization in your area or even a charity such as ST Judes. Star will offer you no help in any way shape or form, and will not let you use the star logo on any posters or shirts unless you send all the proceeds to them, so that they can take 20% off the top and then they will decide where the money is best spent and who it goes to. Alan Cease don't need any more chrome! and stole moneys from 10 charter members of the chapter that i started in Illinois #307 just ask the thief!!! POST THE ANSWERS HERE. I HAVE NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF. my posting is not to show disrespect to you or any other member of the crooks club, only to offer information that may be hidden from your view. Mike approved the above message.
