I just want to add some Thomas Jefferson quotes to this....Very smart man Jefferson...These are actual quotes guys....Watch the evening news and tell me our founding father did not know what he was talking about over 200 years ago.... No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms…. “Thomas Jefferson” The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government….. “Thomas Jefferson” The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not…. “Thomas Jefferson” It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principal which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world….. “Thomas Jefferson” AND MY FAVORITE "RIGHT NOW" WITH THE BANK BS GOING ON>>>> Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: “I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.” George in Virgina Home of Jefferson

Passing Lamp
Long Tall replied to MidlifeVenture's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have order from Seattle Sports Plaza & the link below... http://www.motorsportssupercenter.com/pages/catalogs/detail/26/207/407/3657/1/0/0/1/4/90/69/35535/passing-lamps.aspx Their price is 199.72 and shipping is 16.24....$216.14 delivered to my house...OH! by the way...this is listed on the STAR Touring Web site for Members under remedies...Brighter PASSING LAMPS? Has anyone done this instead of the SEALED BEAMS? Brighter passing lamps Do NOT buy the Venture passing lamps. Instead, buy the V-Star halogen passing lamps. They will fit the Venture passing lamp mounts with no problem. Remove the red wiring from the switch in one of the lamp housings and wire it to the Venture lamp switch. Why do this? Unlike the sealed beams, the halogen lamps have a replaceable H3 bulb. Pull out the bulbs and keep them as spares. Purchase the PIAA or Silverstar Ultra H3 bulbs. They are still 35 watt bulbs (i.e. do not consume more power), but put out 70 watts of light. Passing lamps part no.: STR-4NK35-10-00 George In Virginia...- 19 replies

K&N Air filters 2nd gen
Long Tall replied to CMIKE's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Mike: I asked the same ? last year AFTER I added the K&N Filters and Chrome Covers... I discovered LATER that the stock covers have raised plastic part the the K&N's don't...With the Chrome covers this raised area on the stock filters will prevent the covers from tightening down... Solution I would have tired versus spending the $$$$ on the K&N's as posted by a member of this site..Forgot name.. He removed the raised Plastic Part from the stock filters and then covered the hole he now created with either cardboard or some other stiff paper product...with the raised part now "GONE" the Chrome Covers fit perfectly....He had them like this for more that two years...No problem and nothing changed but the Covers....I think he sawed the raised plastic off the stock filter with a bandsaw, tablesaw...? No changes to carbs...nothing else needed...by the way if you are looking for a good price on the covers, go here...Very good prices.. http://www.motorsportssupercenter.com/ Hope this helps... Nice!...You'll enjoy the ride....Is "Chromey Clause" coming in February this year? George In Virginia

Hey Everyone.... I have looked and looked on the site and have not found anything about the following I got from the Star Touring Remedy List... Do NOT buy the Venture passing lamps. Passing lamps part no.: STR-4NK35-10-00 OK...$88.00 for the H-3 Lamps on this site fhttp://www.motorsportssupercenter.com/pages/newvehicles/viewlines/62/Yamaha_Lines.aspx for the Halogen passing lamps....Unless there is an EASY way to change the Passing Lamps...I did see some posts for the Adjure lights...ANYONE here do this mod?....I have done the Silverstar Bulb for the Headlight.... ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS....:confused24: George In Virginia...

Just a couple of thoughts from a Guy from Virginia about bailouts!...NOT ME...Although I agree with his thoughts.... The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not…. “Thomas Jefferson” It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principal which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world….. “Thomas Jefferson” I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them… “Thomas Jefferson” My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government…. “Thomas Jefferson” Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: “I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.” Timely "Me Thinks".... Long Tall replied to flb_78's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
FYI...Called rccomponents....asked about the rims...once I have the guy the size for the rear (15")...He said they do not make a 15" rim...just 16" and He then went on to tell me that EVERYONE who buy their rims for the TD's go ahead and put 16" rims on the Rear... Yell.....Right... :no-no-no: George In Virginia -

Hey All: Any help here would be appreciated....Going to add some Chrome Grips and Levers to the 06 Venture.... How do the end weights come off?....Is there a "trick" to taking our grips off....I have read about using air pressure, etc... Going with one of the Pro-One Grips below...I have seen both on a V-Star and Road Star.....Probably going with the Ribbed ones?... George In Virginia
