I still wear a half helmet here in Ole Virginia..... I have the Edsets "UNIVERSAL ADAPTER"...Plugs into our 5 pin comm connection and it has a 3.5mm stereo jack plug that is part of unit. Coming back from International I played music through the Aux input in have set up on the bike. Keep the Ipod in a Windshield Bag (split in fairing with 3.5 plug on left handle bar)....Wife and I use earbuds and plug right into the Edset adapter.....Listening to music while going down the road 70 mph's and FOR SURE NO ROAD NOISE. I tired the EDSET 3G with our Half Helmet and used the Earbud option. Just didn't like all of the "STUFF" hanging off of it. Each to here own. If I'm in a group and need communication, I have a set of ICM helmetless headset. VERY Clear, Works Great. I even learned a new use while at the International. EUSA1 (Mike) had the same set except he turned them upside down and wrapped around his neck and used the mic only on all of the ride he was leading. Used the bikes speakers. He and the tailgunner had now problems from my understanding. We like our option with the Edset Universal Adapters a lot. Just saying... Long Tall

Donna and I had a GREAT First Rally. Met a bunch of new folks and mad some friends. Donna's ready for B2Dad & B2Mom's May event and next years rally wherever it is. Spent the last few days here in Platteville, WI as some know so Donna could visit her cousin. Heading out tomorrow AM and will take a couple of day to get home. Overnight somewhere in Indiana or Kentucky. Weather is perfect for the next few day. PS. I went to gas up for the trip and immediately two guy came over to the bike and commented on my brand spankin new DIAMOND CUT FINS. :-) PSS. I did not know I needed to haul a #4, 15# Pickle Crock from her grandmothers estate home to Ole Virginia. Oh Well!! Life on the road. Long Tall and Donna

All: Just an FYI for anyone interested. A couple years ago when Donna and I made the Black Hills /Mt. Rushmore trip, I did a daily Blog for friends and family to follow our adventure. Going to do another for the 5 days were on the road and at the International in Galena. Comments and a few pics of folks, stop, places of interest, etc. Here's the link if anyone is interested..... www.lynchburgtogalena.blogspot.com Long Tall Lynchburg, VA

RSV front auxillary lighting mount
Long Tall replied to ReinyRooster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I did this and it was CHEAP and they are very handy. Lights are no problem... Long Tall -
Did the same thing to mine about three years ago...No Awl but took a grinder and sharpened a #16 nail. Three nice big holes in the front of the neck allowed me a few extra miles going to South Dakota/Black Hills a couple years ago. I was unaware of the distances between fuel in SD and this little trick saved me calling Road Service... Just me and I'm just saying... Long Tall

So a couple of years ago, I became friends with a guy here in Lynchburg that has a MC repair shop on the side. He has it next to his garage. He did ride HD's but is a Wing owner now, but does mostly HD repairs. Anyway, this is where I have been working on Big Red. Today was installation and balance new tires, clean and grease spline, hub, gear drive and all other gears. Change oil and filter. Check tightness of all bolts and add Blue Loc-tite as needed. Change brake and clutch fluid. He had never changed tires on a Yamaha RSV and kept saying how easy things were versus the HD's. I printed out the picture instructions from the tech articles and he was impressed with those also. While the tires were off I changed angle/location of rear valve stem to high side of bike and added 90 degree stem to the front. Used his garage a few months ago to add the shorter shock links (no charge). So I ask him to let me pay him for this time and shop use today and his charge, $40! He did take into consideration the box of 50 count 45 Caliber bullets I brought for him from my stash for his new Kimber full size Stainless II. Everyone needs a Bud like this that likes working with Bikes and lives less than 20 minutes away. I NEVER bent over once to do anything for the whole afternoon. I'm a lucky guy and know it. PS. We got through and the wives had fixed us homemade ice cream. Long Tall Lynchburg, VA

Here is a post of mine from last year. Made my own after seeing one made buy BushTec for the Gold Wing. I all did is just turn it longways. No problem with lights. I have a light bar for the Brake and the cooler fits between the turn signals. Been on many rides and the bikes behind me say the the Brake/Turns are in full view. Had a custom cover made for it that snaps to the frame. Holds the cooler on. Very efficient. Works great for about $120 all in... This same thing happened to me two years ago right before our SD Trip. Freebird sent me this and this cured the problem.... From Freebird:It may just be a coincidence that they haven't blown again with the lights off. Did you check the wires from the passing lamps where they cross the upper triple tree of the forks? I've seen SEVERAL cases where the wires get pinched when they are too far to the side and get smashed when the forks are turned.

Heading west on Rt. 460 between Lynchburg, VA and Roanoke, VA. Halfway between is little town called Bedford, VA. As I was stopped at the light in front of Walmart on 460 I saw a dark blue 2007 'I THINK" pulling away from the Walmart Gas Pumps. Ad a lot of MC luggage strapped to the back. Looks like they had been traveling a while.... TWO UP.....Anyone from the Clan Here? Long Tall Lynchburg, VA

Government does not give anything that belongs to them. They gave "BACK" your money that that had TAKEN to much of. My partner's a Tax attorney and this is what he tells me every year. Long Tall

I'm sure there is a link or two here but when I did the search, I came up with threads from 07 & 08. Anyway. Made a set of leveling links and my Bud had them powder coated for me at NO CHARGE. Sent seat off to Rick for his mod and came back today. Put it on the bike and WOW what a difference. I'm 6'5" tall so no problem on the leg length issue. Mine has always been feeling like I was setting on the horn of the seat all the time and constantly raising myself up the moving "BACK" INTO the seat. Mentioned this to Rick. Took the 06 BIG RED out for a test drive and I did not once feel like I was on the horn. I did need to make an adjustment to the Uptopia Back Rest but I expected that. All in all. I like them both. Side Bar. Ordered Rick's Bag Bolts and love them. PERIOD! New Tires go on tomorrow and then Big Red will be ready for the year. All lubed up and ready. Long Tall
