Look What Annie Did Today....................

Wooooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooo! Go you good thing!!!!!! -
It supposedly worked down-under. The Aussie government gave all tax payers $900 each and told them to go out and spend it. And we did. Apparently we're now on the way out of the doldrums. (I didn't think I could spend $900 so many times!!!)

I see you're still all away (jealousy - jealousy), but my little 2 days jaunt was great. Had FANTASTIC weather. Around 60degF both days, no wind, no cloud and glorious sunshine. Couldn't have wished for better. Actually - it was better than that, because we got to have a ride with our baby sister riding her Suzuki 500 single road bike. I wanted to attach a couple of photos I took with my phone, but the files are too big. Will have to re-size and bump up this thread later.

Well - whilst you're all having a good time up there, I'm going for a ride for a couple of days as well this weekend. Me and two of my brothers are riding to my sister's place (4 hours away) to check out her new Suzi 500, and perhaps take her on a ride somewhere. I'm the eldest of 6 kids and my sister is the youngest - there's 18 years between us. She's pretty spoiled having 5 brothers who also ride. The attached pic shows us 'boys' on our annual get-together in Queensland in 2008 - before she got her wheels. BTW - y'all have a safe time, ya hear?

If I'm sitting at the lights in a muti-laned road, I usually give the throttle a little rap as the cross traffic lights change to amber preceeding the red, to let the other guys know that I'm going to move off first. i.e. - EAT MY DUST! BTW - I run Sampson slash cut pipes. Verra nice!

Is the article available on-line? I'd love to read it. (Don't get too many o.s. mags in my little village down-under.)

Does it really matter? A Yammie is a Yammie is a Yammie. (Says so on the crank case!)

Never having been to Texas (in fact never having been to America) I'd say, "Stay away from Texas." :rotf: [i'm sorry - come here!]

Couldn't help myself. Got a leave pass from the Minister for Finance and Home Affairs and took a ride to the hardware store for some necessities. The old girl (the RSV - not the Minister) kicked over straight away. 50kms round trip in 16degC sunshine. I'm think I'm gonna start riding to work again next week. To hell with the cold.

Love the logo. Nice to see Africa and half of Europe missing. Even nicer to see that The Great Southern Land is included.

Hey boss - don't sweat the small stuff. (AND IT'S ALL SMALL STUFF!) Love ya work. Thanks again.

That got ya all curious, didn't it. But you worked it out already. Yep - the RSV has been under wraps for about 3 months due to the cold :snow:and me being away so much with the bride in the tin top working. Beautiful day today - it's stopped raining and we hit 14degC (about 58degF for others) so I decided to push some oil through the donk and roll the tyres. Key in, (no b-r-r-r-r-r of the fuel pump) headlight a bit low, choke out, 2 twists of the throttle, hit the starter. Damn! ! ! ! Wer, wer, wer, w- - - nothing! Seat off, battery out, on the charger for a few hours, back in the bike, seat back on, a quick kick in the guts and away we went. Ten minute ride and back in the car port. Serves me right for neglecting the old girl for so long. I gave her a hug prior to putting the covers back on, and promised I'd take her out again next week. I'm sure there was a little flicker from the right front blinker.

Well, I don't care what you all say. I just reckon they don't know how to spell 'smart' in this instance. Down-under we spell it 'd-u-m-b'. I'll just stick with my Subaru Outback H6 thank you very much! (Now - there's a car ! ! ! ! )

Hmmmmmmm. I have a TomTom that I mount on the right side of my screen with the suction cup and wrap the power lead around my bars and plug it in to the 12V outlet on the left side of the fairing. I've ridden through rain but find unless it's bucketing down I doesn't get wet enough to worry it. BTW - I use 2 pieces of gaffer tape across the suction cup and onto the screen - one above and one below the stem to make sure the damned things stays put. And it does. I find I can tap the screen with gloves on whilst riding by carefully using the seam of the tip of the little finger. I don't worry about the audio. I set the screen to 3D and it gives me a GREAT idea of bends coming up. My worth!

No problems. I thought you had this-----> They have already sent me a digital proof of the design and I have approved it.
-
Hey Boss. Can we (I) have a look at one, please? You gotta pic ya can post? I think I'd like 3. One for the RSV, one for the Subaru and one for the Jumbuck ute. Also - how much is freight to the Great Southern Land? Stay safe buddy and enjoy the riding. Bl00dy cold and wet down this part of the planet.

Beware using your debit card at the gas pump
spear replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
Okay guys. After rubbing it in a bit a few posts back, I thought I'd tell you how I pay for fuel. I have a credit card that is run by a major supermarket chain in Australia - Woolworths. That supermarket chain also runs its own service stations - Woolworths Caltex. You can get fuel discount vouchers on your shopping docket for 4c off per litre if you spend more than $30 in one hit - OR - if you pay for your goods with the credit card you can use their petrol bowser that has a card reader and key pad by swiping the credit card, entering your PIN, filling up, hanging up the fuel gun, and driving off. By the time you've put the key back in the ignition to leave the service station you have a receipt sent to your email address tied in to your credit card account. Couldn't be easier. And the beauty of this system is - you don't have to remove your helmet or even get off your bike to fuel up. For all of May and June the card company ran a promotion that gave card users a 10c per litre discount if using the card and the card reader on the bowser. Our fuel here at the moment is around $1.18 per litre, so I'm paying $1.14. When fuel prices were down a few weeks ago I was paying around $1 - that was with the 10c per litre discount. Another:2cents:worth -
