I loved to have put a tracking device in that DVD case, and see where that thing has been in the past number of months. Anybody else autographed the sheet I put in the one that came Down-Under??

Hey folks. Just wanted to show off my (only) daughter and her new husband - not that she has an old one. Married in Tasmania 3 weeks ago today. Of course good ol' Dad is asked to do the photos - again. That's all 3 kids married off now. Isn't she beautiful? (Proud and biased Dad!!)

Zero! But I do have 34,000 kilometres.

I thought this was a PG site? (Swap 'Saltspring' for 'Kiwi'.)

When I bought my 2nd gen it had front and rear sheep skin covers as well as one over the pillion back rest. Took them off cause I liked the comfort of the seats as they were, and do you think I can find I put them so I can put 'em back on? Damned if I can. (Hate that!!)

Ah - the land of the free (or close by!) If you come Down-Under to ride, the freedom is restricted only by the sign-posted speed limits. None of the crap you BCers are putting up with. Sheesh - and to think British law once prevailed there.

Sorry Bill. Rule out the word "accident" in this instance. Look it up in a dictionary. It usually has connotations of "totally unavoidable" or similar. I'd say the cop (who has a greater duty of care to ALL road users than Mr Average) is guilty of carelessness, incompetence and neglect. Hang him, I say! (And this is coming from a former LEO of 27 years unblemished driving record as a LEO.)

There's a song in there somewhere . . How's this for a start? "Oh Lord it's hard to be humble, When you're perfect in every way, I can't wait to look in the mirror...." Nah - it'll never work.

Nor does my 2004 RSV. (No hazards in Australia!!)

Auestion for the Truck Drivers Out There (about passing)
spear replied to LilBeaver's topic in Watering Hole
I was waiting for you to chip in on this one Annie. Not only do we pass (overtake) on the right side but when we do it's usually a trucker who is sitting on or below the speed limit. Damn, it's hard to get around some of them when you're in the back blocks. Good way to save on fuel though. Get in the slipstream, put her into neutral, turn the motor off and get sucked along!! (Joke Jan!) -
Don't know if they're supposed to work like my BMW used to. With the Beemer you had to activate the 4-ways with the igniton 'ON' then you could turn the ignition off, remove the key and the 4-ways would keep on keeping on. If you turned them off then you had to re-ignite (ha ha) the bike and do it all again. I suppose that stops some smart-4rse walking past your bike in a parking lot and turning the 4-ways on whilst you're not there and flattening your battery. The LEDs sound like the way to go.

Then smear either a bit of white (aviation) grease or petroleum jelly on it. (I was going to say Vaseline, Annie - but people might get the wrong idea.)

Damn they're FUGLY bikes. This one looks like a snail trying to crawl over a couple of razor blades.

You know - this a question that has often raised its ugly head, especially when I'm watching Millionaire's Hot Seat and the host is asking, "What would you do with a million dollars?" I put myself in the hot seat, have a quick think, look ouside at my RSV and say to myself, "Why?" [ 'nuf sed! ]

Thanks for posting these Randy. Always nice to see mass gatherings - something that is damn nigh impossible down under. Not enough of us I'm afraid. In the past 3 years since I bought my '04, I've only seen 2 other RSVs - 1st or 2nd gen. One of them I had to travel about 8,000kms before I came across it.

Yeah yeah. I know - I know! I'm just a small thread in the tapestry of life, however, I see it as a bit of a milestone. I belong to a couple of other (non-bike) forums, but they don't get anywhere near the attention VR.Org gets. Thought it was worth a mention. Thanks for the gold star Steve. I'll just skulk away into my corner for a couple of years and come back when I hit 3,000. HAPPY NOW????

Don't know what Mazda advertising is like in the USA, but 'down-under' they have a catch-phrase of "ZOOM ZOOM." Get it? No? Well, if you turn ZOOM ZOOM upside down, you get WOOZ WOOZ. WOOZ? Wuz! Ah, forget it!

Don't you start agreeing with the Big Bird, Annie. He's talking about US politics. We're free to bag Kevin47 as much as we like - (I think?)

Charlie. Your camera has a plethora of options for you to choose from to 'Shoot The Moon'. Fortunately one of them is MANUAL, so use that. As stated - set a low ISO (100 maybe), zoom right in to the moon (you have 18X optical to play with) with a fast-ish shutter speed (1/250) and play with your apertures. Cameras are usually calibrated for 'averages' including mid-tones of grey. Shooting the moon is going a long way away from grey - damned near white, so you have to compensate for that. Have fun. I've shot the moon many times with a Canon DSLR and 18-200 IS lens, and usually find I'm shooting up to 4 stops different to that indicated when taking a reading off the moon. And the beauty of digital? WYSIWYG. If it don't look no good - dump it! 30 Shooting Modes: Auto, Program Auto, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual, My Modes, GUIDE, Scene Presets (Portrait, Landscape, Landscape & Portrait, Night Scene, Night & Portrait, Sport, Indoor, Candle, Self-Portrait, Available Light Portrait, Sunset, Fireworks, Cuisine, Documents, Auction, Shoot & Select1, Shoot & Select2, Beach, Snow, Underwater Wide1, Underwater Wide2, Underwater Macro), Movie
