  1. Ruffy, will those lines fit on my 02? says there for an 05 and up. I see another set by Goodridge for my year range, are they as good quality as the others. thanks again for your help, von only buy them once right now do I gotta get it right the first time.
  2. thanks, that's very helpful. Will look for the complete setup. any ideas on how to improve performance of stock system. Will the ebc hh pads help any? I've been using the organic pads and they wear fast (7000 on rear). I flush the system every couple of seasons but the fronts don't feel like I was expecting, seem hard just before the bike stops rolling. thanks again:backinmyday:
  3. After reading a couple of posts concerning this upgrade I have a few questions. what year spread on the r1's will fit my 02 midnight? Do I have to spring for the ss hoses at the same time I switch calipers, m/c, and the splitter valve or can I replace them at a later date? My cash flow is not flowing real great so cost is important but my stock front brakes leaving a lot to be desired. any suggestions on how to improve the performance of the stock brakes would be very helpful. thanks in advance for any help.
  4. that's what I've been waiting for, a winter spider, are studded snow tires available and a good heater?

take her for a ride and your problems are over!
  7. quick question chief. going to do the same on my 02 midnight and want to use a 25 amp inline spade fuse. Will the wiring handle the load for a compressor or other power tool that feeds that plug our should I wire direct to the battery for that aux power source?
  8. I had three of my members stuck by lightening while riding in the Catskill mountains in New York three years ago and believe me when I say you don't want to risk it. The worst of the three was dead for almost five minutes and has had to have many surgeries because his nervous system was fried. NEVER STOP OUT IN THE OPEN OR NEAR TREES! find a gas station, bridge overpass, or anyplace you can get inside. Keep riding slowly until you are in a safe place, the ground carried the charge almost 75 yards to where they were standing when they were hit.
  9. turns out an inline fuse was installed when the passing lights were installed and the 10amp fuse was blown. Thanks for all the pointers.
  10. My brothers 07 RSV is giving him fits because first the passing lights went out, then today took it for a ride and he said his dash was going crazy when he turned on his blinkers. I don't believe he put those passing lights on a seperate relay /fuse when he installed then and was wondering if this sounds like ignition switch issues to our techs or just ground or connection issues. Any help is sure appreciated.
  11. I was always taught to sit on your bike in a comfortable position such as you would use on a long ride and look out like you normally do for riding while having someone mark your windshield 1 3/4" below the center of your eyes. That's how did mine and used a table belt Sander to remove the excess and reshape the windshield. Much better for me but have not rode a passenger since the mod. Good luck:080402gudl_prv:
  12. Will have to shop for a regulator I guess. Have never changed one on one of these, is it a big job?
  13. I spend at least half of my riding time at around midnight and log about 10,000 miles a season. My 02 midnight RSV has been experiencing the brightness of the headlight increase for a couple seconds, then returns to normal. This does not happen every night but does seem to be happening more often. I run the standard headlight and have the highway light bar also. Can anyone shed any light on what is happening and should I be concerned? Could the change of the highway light bulbs cause this?
  14. I am new to this and not sure if this is the correct place to address my tire issues. I run the Dunlop 404's and mount and balance all my own tires. I have gotten as few as 5000 miles on rear and never more than 8000. I ride on a lot of old stone and chip roads and was wondering if the Elete III's preform better ..Was told the Dunlop Elete III's would be a better choice. I was also told they don't make the elete III's for the RSV and don't find the right cross over but, have read that some of you ride these. Any help would be appreciated. Seems some 404's ride out much better than others and was looking for some help. thanks. "Grumpy"=
