Well it finally reached 70 degrees today and the only thing I rode around was my lawnmower...LOL...I am waiting on a fork part that is supposed to be in tomorrow. And to make things worse my buddy shows up on his bike...I can't wait till the first ride of the season...sigh...Maybe next weekend...

GREAT!! I love the feeling you get when something good happens when you have been working on something so long...That is the feeling, and sometimes smell, of SUCCESS!!!

Red loctight should only be sold by prescription only! LOL

16...4 per cylinder. Not sure if that would give you the selection you would need, you would probably end up with a lot of shims that were needed to set the valves when the bike was new and be lacking in the shims you need. What I did was took some shims of the same size to my local shop and traded for some I needed. If you had a bunch of shims you might be able to do that to get a kit started, but you would need a lot of shims!! Just my 2 cents.

Just took a look at those extractors...I just did a slave cylinder and if I can remember correctly those bolts are the round allens...I don't think that those extractors will be able to grip the bolt correctly?? or at least that is what I can see from the pictures. I was thinking about the tranny fluid fix. Hopefully that works for you. That is a tight area in there, all I was thinking when I did mine is I wished I had smaller hands.LOL Sorry I couldn't really help, but keep us posted. Good luck!

Thanks!! That is what I had but I just wanted to make sure!! Thanks again and happy riding!

Are the two split copper colored bushings in the front forks called (the big one) Metal Slide 1 part number item: 3JJ-23125-00-00 and is the small one called Piston, front fork part number 3JJ-23171-00-00. I am in the middle of a fork service and these parts seem worn so I am ordering from yamahasportsplaza.com and trying to get this by the weekend. Any body with part numbers or advice would be great. Or a good place to order from that is quick with shipping. Thanks in advance for the help!!

I am in the process of replacing both front calipers and my rear caliper and delink everything. I just received all my parts from skydoc17 (Earl) and everything is top notch and EXCELLENT quality and I almost have everything swapped over. His kit is TOP NOTCH and the stainless lines are really nice and clean everything up very nice. You know what they say...The bitter taste of poor quality long outlives the thrill of the cheap buy. Get a hold of skydoc17 and he will set you up the correct way.

Just like in the RV world I see a lot of people that tow campers that are way to heavy for their vehicle but they say they can pull it...They can "pull it" but even with electric brakes it is too heavy for their tow vehicle. I am with Condor if you do pull it electric brakes will definitely be worth it. Just my 2 cents

Venture purchase - Need input
robclark63 replied to dave_wells's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Nice bike!! The red is very sharp. -
Thanks Gary. I was just curious because I did not see that part on any of the other pics when the forks were tore down. I have both pieces, but I have progressive springs and am trying to get rid of the anti dive units to clean up the forks. I know skydoc usually has the blockoffs, but he currently does not have any.

haha...I play around with aircooled VW's and some of the things PO's do to them are horiffic!! I guess the same thing goes on with these bikes:)
-
Thanks!! I wonder why it is only in some models??? I hope Gary chimes in on this. Thanks again!

I was wondering what the part that is propped up is. I have seen the cylinder type part in posts about how to replace fork seals, but what is the flying saucer part and is it necessary? It connects to the very bottom of the inner fork. Thanks for any input on this one
