    CRA Scam

I got an automated call from the "IRS" a couple weeks ago. They said a warrant had been issued for my arrest, but I could avoid arrest by calling them and paying my delinquent taxes. I just forwarded the number, which came up Berger, TX on my caller ID, to the Ky Atty Generals Office. Still waiting for the chrome bracelets,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,! (maybe they'd better bring a straight jacket too)
  2. The stripes on my '99 are clearcoated over, so the stripper wheel probably won't work on them.

    Almost done

That's a good looking paint job from a rattle can.
  4. I had a set of Bub's and really liked the sound with no packing, but just could not get past the peeling tips. They replaced the first set of tips, and within a month the second set was peeling, after being assured by Bub's that they were no longer being chromed but were polished billet. I didn't want to go the blacked out tip route as I wanted to stay all chrome, so I bought a couple sets of Road King mufflers, one of which I hole sawed the baffles. If you just want a deeper sound then that is the way to go. If you don't drill or cut out the baffles then you will have a very quiet Venture. I bought a used set of Roadhouse slipons when I got my '99 and I really like the sound of them.
  5. No beer, but I'm getting ready to try some winemaking. I went yesterday and talked to a friend that's big into it, and he really stressed the sanitizing part. He said he lost 5 gallons of wine last year because he missed sanitizing a piece of his racking tubing.
  6. Did you drill or holesaw the baffles? I had a set on my '04 and really liked the looks of the bigger muffler body. I holesawed mine and they sounded really good, just not nearly as good or loud as the Bub's.
  7. I had a set of seats up in the rafters in my garage that did that. I used Westley's Bleach-white to clean them, then Meguiar's Vinyl & Leather dressing. I sprayed the dressing on, left it wet to soak in as much as I could then wiped them down and gave them another coat, did that 4 or 5 times. They cleaned up great.
  8. Did she say "because I said so"?
  9. I guess I've been fortunate in my group riding experiences, they've always been pretty well organized and everybody kept up. There's a group of about 10 or 12 sport bike riders that I see on a regular basis riding between Radcliff and Elizabethtown on US 31W, which is a 4 lane divided hwy. They will all be in the right lane EXCEPT the 2 in the back, they are in the left lane in a staggered position, usually about a car length behind the ones on the right. I saw them last week and they were doing about 50, the speed limit is 55, but traffic is usually moving at about 60-65. There was a string of cars behind them in both lanes and the 2 guys in the left lane held that position for as long as I followed them.
  10. Wow, sorry to hear that, definitely not a fun day, BUT, I'm going to beat cowpuc on this one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,. IT'S USELESS WITHOUT PICS!!!!! (Sorry boss, but it had to be said)
  11. Think you can trust yourself to look after yourself for that long? Be safe and have a good trip.
  12. I originally joined around Dec 05 or Jan 06 I think, it was before I bought my first Venture, and that was in March 06. This site was the deciding factor in my first Venture purchase, mainly the patience that several of you had answering my "newbie" questions about this sweet machine. I dropped out after I sold Blackie and got the Roadie, then came back home in Aug '12 when another Venture followed me home. A big thanks to all who have put up with me thru the years, and especially to the boss for putting up with all of us.
  13. Like I said in another post, it's not the same bike with the CII's. I put a set of the original Commanders on the '04 I had and I could feel some difference with those, but the diff here is the smaller front. Pope, do you have leveling links on your's?
  14. Oh my, back in my old 'hood that would've never worked, WAY too many gossipy old women back then.
  15. It was a good day. Got out for a ride, sorry to say it was the first one of the year, but, it was still good anyway.
  16. Love me some Commander II's!! FINALLY got in a decent (65mi) ride today to try them out. I know, it's a long sad story,,,,but,,,,anyway. It handles like a totally different bike, no more "wobbles" when I cross cracks or uneven pavement. The new hip felt good too, still just a bit tight but that'll get gone as soon as I get in some more miles.
  17. Hopefully they didn't use party lines that far north. Party lines were where you had up to 8 phones in 8 houses basically tied together. If you happened to be lucky enough to be able to use the phone there was usually some nosy old woman listening in on your call. They were used mainly in the rural areas where I lived.
  18. Be 57 in a few days, got a lot of shiny, new titanium parts since this post first started.
  19. "It takes a special man to be a Father. I was lucky in that way. My Father worked hard all his life, and never ever complained about it. He just did what he had to do to take care of my Mother and me. Thanks Dad, you are always in my heart." Yes it does, and the older I get the more I see it. Mine passed almost 8 years ago and I still miss him every day. Thanks for the post.
  20. Now see, there ya go throwing common sense into the mix!! One of the MANY things you don't think about til something happens.
  21. Ah, ok. I've used mine several times and they fit fine. I'm just not much of a fan of a trunk liner, I'm used to the "organized chaos" that's usually going on in mine.
  22. Have you tried them? I've got a set of River Road liners for a HD and they work in mine.
  23. Ain't nothing like that summer heat in 'bama to make you appreciate the humidity here at home. It's like that red clay just soaks up the heat and holds on to it. I've got a couple of hunting buddies that live a little farther south/east of you guys, Childersburg & Sylacauga. I love it down there.
  24. I put a set on mine last year, I think that's the single most useful accessory that you can have. (not to mention they look GOOD!!)
