  1. We'll be waiting for you next time you come through Tulsa! NEWTrk finished the bathroom so I'll let him ride with you next time. Get those ducks all lined up (isn't that hard to do, I didn't think ducks took orders very well:rotf:) Glad you had a nice short ride!!!!
  2. Bill, Just as long as I don't have a conversion and NEWTrk's not on call that week, we should be able to make Eureka Springs in 08. Sure wanted to ride over last weekend, but just couldn't do it because of work getting in the way of life.
  3. Over the weekend a coworker and friend lost his son in a motorcycle accident. My friend's son lost control of his bike and the accident was his fault, but knowing this does not make the loss any easier to the family. Please surround Joe and Donna with your prayers as they deal with the loss of their son. http://www.kjrh.com/content/news/breaking/story.aspx?content_id=945ef4e1-dc0d-48ae-ac99-47d7802a04bd
  4. Eugene, I suspect that the average temp in the summer where you're at in Ontario is not 95 degrees either. I know that our issue is temperature related, and I'd bet real money the wolf13's is too.
  5. We have a ram mount for our Iway 350 for the handlebars. I can send you pictures if you want of the mount. We do have a problem with the 350 shutting down, but it's not from the vibration. There is a know problem with the unit if the internal temperature gets about a certain temperature the unit shuts down. I just know that if it's 80 and sunny outside, the unit is going to shut down. If it's overcast or in the evening to where the sun is not beating down on it, or it is cooler outside, we can ride for hours with it up and running. I also understand that the Iway 500 does not have this issue, it will stay up in the heat and sun. Of course we found this out after we had the unit and it was shutting down on us. One solution that might help is to turn the screen brightness down by 3 positions. That has made a difference us. The over heating also occurs in automobiles too, not just on motorcycles so don't feel like you are being punished. Funny thing is the headquarters of Lowrance is about 8 miles from our house, you would think they would make a unit that works at their headquarters - wouldn't you?
  6. Here is a link with numerous pictures of tachs mounted for you to take a look at from an earlier thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6230&highlight=tach
  7. Hi Leonard, NEWTrk (Phil) started out with the lowering kit on the back last year, worked fine, he liked the control of the bike, but the pipes dragged more often. Over the winter he removed the lowering kit and put the rear back to stock, he then lowered the front an inch and loves the control now. It gives him exactly what he wanted at no cost - just a little time. BTW - he also hated the slow speed manuvering with the stock tires, he has replaced them with Avons and is a real happy camper. rb
  8. Pilot, is your 350 the Lowrance 350? Do you have any problems of it shutting down while you are out riding when the temps get 80 or above? Our Lowrance 350 does that and we have been told that Lowrance was never suppose to be used on a motorcycle by their tech support.
  9. Sherry, I just found out about Tom's death this morning. I am so sorry for you and your boys. We are here for you, whatevery you need. May God hold you in his arms and comfort you now and always. Diane
  10. Phil will tell you that I AM his secretary, I do all his scheduling, or at least he let's me think that I do..... That way I get to feel important. Actually Phil use to travel 9 - 10 months out of the year and I just got use to doing all the planning and after 30 years of marriage some things just don't change...
  11. Well, what are you doing next Friday morning? We've got a lift and Phil has experience playing with the links on the rear. If you want to ride over and do it in our garage next Friday let me know - we might be able to work something out schedule wise.
  12. Allan - I went through my pictures from last fall and found these of you and Debbie.
  13. Allan, Phil and I are very sorry to hear of Debbie's passing. We were shocked and dismayed to read your posting. We consider ourselves among the lucky ones to have had to pleasure of meeting Debbie and you last fall in KC. She truly was a joy to meet and spend time with. As you struggle to pick up the pieces of your life know that we are here for you, in what ever capacity you need us to be. We are keeping you and Debbie in our prayers. Diane & Phil
  14. The Tach is from Barrons - part # BA-7564-01, under $70.00. The mount was not part of the tach - the mount Phil picked up at the local Big Dog dealer is a 1" cable clamp for $12.95.
  15. I just bought a Barron tach for NewTRK06 for his birthday this coming Sunday. UPS delivered the package yesterday and Phil couldn't even wait for me to wrap it up, he had it out and the kitchen table when I got home from work last night. So today he was busy mounting his present. Here's what he got and where he mounted it.
  16. Sorry about that, but are your sure pig tails are cute little curly things just like all the curves on this road....
  17. Motorcycle riders watch out for the pedestrians wider than 10'6 "..
  18. :no-no-no: Boy are you in trouble - 1. You are not suppose to put your wife in the trailer. 2. No woman wants to be told she weighs 4850 pounds. It's been nice knowing you..
  19. We just picked up a new fiberglass trailer off of ebay for $460. I'd show you pictures but it's in pieces right now with the painter waiting to be painted black cherry to match the bike. My husband was discussing the inside of it this week and plans to fabricate some kind of tie down system inside it so when it's being pulled by the RSV that every thing in the trailer be secured. We happened to see a crash last month that the bike took a curve too fast and his load in the trailer shifted - was not a pretty site.
  20. Thank you to those of you who have escorted the moving wall when it's been in your part of the country. We have been to the real wall in DC twice, and have been to the moving wall many times. In Wisconsin where I grew up is a 140 acre memorial that started out as the WI Vietnam Memorial, but has grown beyond that called High Ground. That's an amazing memorial to visit if you're in the area. BTW I read that August 17 & 18 of 2007 is the motorcycle rally at High Ground for anyone looking for something to do then.
  21. This weekend while riding the Talimena Drive we happened upon 'The Moving Wall'. For those who don't know what this is - it's a replica of the Vietnam Memorial in DC. To see all the names of the men and women who gave their lives while serving our county in Vietman, is moving beyond words. Bill Ingraham and PrettyLady paid their respect to the fallen heros, while NEWTrk06 and I visited my brother who is listed on pannel 39E line 66, Marine Lance Corporal Harry Warren Schneider, who died from wounds received in combact on Feb. 16, 1968.
  22. Attachment is the Oil Filter Cross Reference List from before the crash of August 06... NOTE: This is an old file. It has been reported that some of these filter, the Purolator in particular, have been redesigned and no longer work on our bikes. CrossReference.pdf
  23. I know you asked a serious question, and I do not mean to make light of it, but... why would you want electric clothing, homemade or otherwise? Is this similar to the electric blanket concept - to stay warm without adding a large amount of bulky clothing? I'm just guessing here, so please help me out... Thanks!
  24. Highway 23, better known as the 'Pig Trail' in Northwest Arkansas is lots of fun with all the twisties. We picked up Hwy 23 at Ozark, AR and followed it up to Eureka Springs. Fun Ride.
  25. I am so sorry about your loss of Tucker. It's amazing how an animal becomes a part of our lives and a member of our family. We lost our 14 year old Dalmatian a few months after we moved to Oklahoma 2 years ago. I think she held on until I adjusted to our new home, and then it was okay for her to let go.
