Hey Tom! How are you and Debbie doing? I shared my really hot salsa over Christmas with my son in law who grew up on really hot Korean food, and he can't wait to try it. He did have a hot sauce contest with the oldest daughter's boyfriend and made a couple of bucks out of it. Phil and I are talking about a ride this year to your part of the country - any suggestions as to best time of year to come and see it?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Jim. You and your fellow soliders are not forgotten but thought of and prayed for every day. Stay safe, stay strong, and come home soon (or as soon as you receive your orders).

Here is a picture of the pair of feral kittens we spent the summer working with. Their mother hung around in our back yard this summer for several weeks because we had a source of fresh water in the back yard (the birdbath). The same weekend we decided that we would feed her, she decided to bring out her kittens. It took about 2 months of feeding the kittens to get them close enough for us to touch them. Now they follow us every where. A couple of weeks ago during the ice storm Phil moved them into his workshop with food, water, litter box, and of course their very own space heater. So we now have inside cats and outside cats.

Phil got a new 50' LCD HD TV and I got a new Lincoln MKX.

My parents happen to love fruitcake! At their age (87) they no longer want the 'stuff' kind of presents so I usually try to give them food related. Several years ago Christmas I tracked down the bakery of what they consider the best fruitcake and always send my dad one as his present. Well this year, my oldest daughter remembered her grandparents like fruitcake and sent them one. I got a 2 for 1 deal with mine and sent them 2. I just heard from my youngest that she got her grandparents a fruitcake too. None of us talked to the other before we ordered ours. What do you think my father is gonig to say when he gets 4 fruitcakes this year instead of 1? He'll have fruitcake until the snow melts in the spring.

The worst present I ever got was a WOK - I wanted a red sweater. But, no, I got something to cook for the family with. I still bring it up. My oldest daughter has had present discussions with her boyfriend. She has had to explain to him that a new vacuum cleaner is not a acceptable gift for her birthday.

Yep, that describes most of the neighborhoods around Tulsa too. And to add insult to injury - the weatherman is forcasting 4 - 6 inches of snow Friday night into Saturday.

Phil and I are doing fine. We lost power off and on all day on Monday, but never for more than a couple of minutes at a time. It's been on steady ever since then. The ice is unbelievable, we've never experienced anything like this having only been in OK a few years. We have a lot of ice damage with the trees in the yard. I'm including a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. 1. Neighbors pine trees bent to the ground with the weight of the ice 2. Downed tree limbs around the driveway 3. Downed tree limbs on the side of the hill - city had an end loader move the trees off the road in that area today 4. Downed trees in the front yard 5. Thousands and thousands of beautiful icicles hanging from the pergola on the deck.

The memorial to the USS Oklahoma will be dedicated today at Pearl Harbor. 429 sailors and marines lost their lives on that ship 66 years ago. To all the WWII Vets - THANK YOU!

I too thank the military and their families for all they do each and every day. Tomorrow we are helping at a breakfast with Santa fundraiser for the local library, but one activity we do is to have a table set up for the children and their families to write Christmas cards and letters to the soliders serving our country. We also put out a donation box at the same time for the local Blue Star Mothers for their on going project of sending packages to the soliders. Check with your local Blue Star Mothers Chapter in your area to see if there is some way that you can help get involved too!

Fake. This year we are going to spend Christmas in our youngest daugther's first home, so instead of moving all the furniture around in the living room, we put it in the computer room instead. Our family tradition has always been stockings, our girls have always gone through their stockings together, even doing it with international phone calls one year. Since they are now adults they did not want to give up their stockings so we now draw names for stockings to fill. They come up with some pretty inventive items for stockings.

I bet he will use his world famous goop and glue it to a saddle bag instead of the bungee cord to the handle bars. :happy65::happy65: You know we love ya WildHair - when are you coming through Tulsa again?

Rose, Rosie, Rosebud were the names that I grew up being called. I didn't know anyone knew my real name until I got married and Phil told my dad that I had a real name - boy was he brave. My husband goes by NEWTrk, because he told everyone at work that I told him he needed a new truck and he came home with a new Black Cherry RSV instead. We had NEWTRK put on his mc plates. Oh, he has since gotten that new truck.

Well hecky darn - I am NOT putting on the coffee pot at 5:30 in the morning even for you and Linda, especially since we don't drink coffee. Well as you go around the curve on 44 where Cherokee Casino sits in Catoosa, give a wave - we're at the top of the big hill behind the casino. Maybe another time....
-
Bill, when are you coming through Tulsa? On Sunday by any chance? We're just northeast of Tulsa just a couple of miles off the interstate. Won't be able to make it to OKC during the week. Work always seems to get in the way...

Our youngest daughter had to deal with that this year, with a twist, she's the teacher and she had to explain to her class that her dog ate their homework....:rotf::rotf:

I was taking the long way home from work today and saw a pretty blue 1st gen the entrance of the Port of Catoosa headed north on Hwy 167 - who was it? Anyone we know?

Our prayers go out for Gary and Leslie and their family. We too met them at Ft. Collins this summer - what wonderful people. Here is a link I found about the accident on the web: http://www.cantonrep.com/index.php?Category=9&ID=381942&subCategoryID=0

When I want a fish fry I want a Friday Night Wisconsin Fish Fry at the local tavern with beer batter cod, coleslaw, and fries. You can keep the catfish. In Oklahoma I can find every whole in the wall BBQ place, but a good fish fry does not exist here.
