  1. After reading one of warnings awhile back I went to see if mine was tight and it snapped with very little force. I check mine now at oil changes.
  2. Did you bleed the port near the steering head?
  3. SCI sells this kit. This is the most complete kit I've seen and not much more than gaskets and o rings. When I do my carbs next time I'll go with this and just change jets and all. http://www.siriusconinc.com/pro-detail.php?pid=&product_id=120729
  4. I believe that is an aftermarket setup. My 86 has one and they are actually turn signals and the center red is a running light.
  5. I chased this same problem for a year and it turned out that the run stop switch wasn't making good contact and needed cleaning.
  6. Check on the carb where the choke cable is secured. The metal end at the end of the black cover should fit in the cable retainer. If the end is out the choke won't stay engaged.
  7. I had owned 2 new 84 (83.5) and never got less than 40MPG.
  8. I have an 18 inch Cee Bailey windshield that I bought last year and used about a week and didn't like it, its been in the box ever since. I will part with it if you're interested, pm mail
  9. I guess you could connect the pump directly to the battery and see if it happens then. You also might want to test the boost sensor.
  10. The brake fluid light on the CMS is on, fluid levels are good and the floats move freely. In addition the icons on the CMS are very dim at night but look fine during the day. Any thoughts?
  11. Have you tried to check the voltage at the fuel pump when it bogs down.
  12. There should be enough wire to relocate it to the top of the air box.
  13. Got excited to soon. Went for a ride today and the bike stumbled when giving it throttle. I got to my destination about 6 miles and checked the pipe of the cylinder that wasn't firing before and it was barley warm. Looks like those carbs will need to come back out, looks like I did something wrong.
  14. If those are US miles you are getting less than 30 MPG. Check your rear brake caliper. Sometimes the pads wear a groove in the caliper and the pads get hung up on them and drag. If this is happening the pads will be worn uneven.
  15. When stopping and slow speed the front feels like it wants to turn on its own,not stay straight. Is this my imagination or do I have a problem?
  16. It might not be a bad idea to pull the TCI and open it to check the capacitors. Many folks here relocate them to the top of the airbox to keep them dry.
  17. Yesterday I put some Gunk fuel system cleaner and filled up and drove home about 15 miles. Today I went for a ride and still runinig the same.. While going 65 there is a slight hill. I give it a little throttle to maitain speed and bang the engine came to life with the exceration I was use to.
  18. Have you done the math yet?
  19. I just came in from doing that and there was fuel in the bowl.
  20. You are correct one cylinder is not firing. I pulled the plug for that cylinder and it was dry but does have a good spark. I relly don't want to pull these carbs again
  21. After rebuilding the carbs the engine has a "thump" sound from the intake and exhaust. This thump is also felt in the seat. In addition to this it doesn't seem as peppy as before. Any thoughts on what to check?
  22. Wet TCI. There are several threads on the subject try the search.
  23. I was wondering about this to. I ran across this on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/KURYAKYN-UNIVERSAL-DRINK-HOLDER-CUP-STAINLESS-MUG-1463/121254131776?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D30543%26meid%3D7eca6873d27b4df196c1093855b27d1a%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D361296612614&rt=nc
