  1. Same issue with my 86, ended up changing the compressor assembly. About a year later I removed the system and added schrader valves and bought a portable 12v compressor from Harbor Freight for $9.00 and never looked back. and I can air up my tires if needed.
  2. I found one on ebay that wasn't broken. I think I will have it beefed up at a machine shop. Thanks
  3. I was doing some other things on my 86 and noticed the trunk was loose and rocked back and forth a lot. Upon further inspection I found the 2 forward mounts broken. I removed the trunk and found the back of the trunk was cracked from completely across from the rear 2 mount points. I'm guessing the front issue led to the rear issue. Wife never mentioned it was loose. Check your bike it looks like one side had been repaired before.
  4. I thought the voltage from the stator should be around 100vac?
  5. Any electric shop should be able to rebuild it.
  6. Did you use a micrometer and check the thickness. I just changed mine and if I remember correctly 5mm is minimum thickness. BTW ended up getting one from EBC from ebay.
  7. I ended up replacing the carb of the one that was missing on mine.
  8. I just rebuilt my master and slave cylinders 2 days ago. Do your self a favor and get a vacuum bleeder. It took me longer to read the directions than to bleed the clutch. http://www.harborfreight.com/brake-bleeder-and-vacuum-pump-kit-69328.html This is the one I bought, money well spent.
  9. I went through this and finally bought a new fuel pump and no problems since. Ebay had new ones for 75.00 a few weeks ago but for some reason they are $500.00. I used and aftermarket one, it's not a direct fit but works great.
  10. They are the floats inside the resivoirs.
  11. For sale on ebay, new fuel pumps http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELECTRIC-GAS-FUEL-PUMP-Fits-YAMAHA-XVZ1300D-VENTURE-ROYALE-1300D-1986-1993-/291760653742?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276
  12. I have one. Pay the shipping and it's yours.
  13. There isn't anything keeping the fan from spinning? If not maybe a local electrician can repair yours
  14. Anyone got a good rear rotor they are willing to part with?
  15. While doing the back tire I discovered that my rear rotor was at the minimum 4.5mm. I decided to use the one from my parts bike. I got the rotor off and its smaller and not offset from the tire or slotted. The bikes are the same year. Can I use this rotor or should I find another? I doubt if that rotor is not original, parts bike only had 13k miles on it. Also thinking maybe he swapped wheels with a MKI.
  16. I found the little drain screws. The fluid is awful, black as tar.
  17. I am putting in progressive springs in an 86 and have a question. Where is the drain for the fork oil? Also what's the general feeling on the size on the preload spacers? Thanks
  18. A new day a new prospective, too much force not enough finesse.
  19. I just replaced the starter clutch.
  20. Anyone know the best way or the trick to reinstall the rotor? It came off easy, not as easy going back on. I'm at a stand still. Thanks
  21. So now how do I get it back on?
  22. Do I need thicker or thinner washers to improve gas mileage?
  23. It took about 2 minutes to get the rotor off. All the bolts in the clutch came out with only an allen wrench, looks like there was no loctite on them.
  24. If you have a 2nd Gen there was an Ipod kit from Yamaha. I used to see them on eBay.
