  1. Yes they are, I have a set for sale in the classified, they just need mounting screws
  2. I have relisted the items I had for sale, some with lower asking prices. I am still open to reasonable offers. I am out of the Venture business and need to get rid of this stuff. I have plenty more stuff and will be posting it soon.
  3. I would check the connector in front of the ignition switch under the panel you take off to get to the speakers.

  5. Yes it is. I haven't been getting notifications on responses or messages.
  6. I have several first gen parts for sale in the classified section and have received no inquiries. Am I asking too much or is there just no interest? I will accept reasonable offers.
  7. I'll keep this short. I don't know had attached you are to staying as close to the OEM setup as possible, but after several tries this is what I ended up with. A Jensen marine unit MS30 had usb input played MP3 from thumb drive and an AUX input newer and better units also include bluetooth), clarion XC-2410 power amp and 5.25 Kicker speakers (someone hear did a how to for this) with foam speaker enclosures behind them. I later added what is sold on ebay as a sub level control which I used as a volume control rather than the buttons on the head unit, I was quite happy with this setup.
  8. Sounds like the fuel petcock screen might be clogged, BTW bike was designed to run on 87 octane and no gains from premium on a stock bike. I would also check the fuel lines after 30 plus years there maybe some deterioration.
  9. I was recently involved in a wreck and got this letter from my insurance company about Florida's position motorcycles. Read it carefully,What's wrong with this picture? FL PIP.pdf
  10. You were right, but what I can't figure is why I had no fuse in there at all.
  11. My 4 way flasher doesn't work. At some point in the past it did work. The turn signals work and cancel fine. I have swapped out the switch and the flasher from another bike still no go, they work in the other bike, Any ideas? Thanks
  12. This is in the tech section and what I use on my bike. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?72253-Lower-Temp-Fan-Switch
  13. Drain the fluid and see if it is still stiff. If it is I would guess you have a bent fork.
  14. The master cylinder is where the handle goes into the bottom of the reservoir. BTW that light is for the front and rear. One more thing are you sure it's not the low engine oil light coming on?

  16. It looks looks like that is a California spec bike. Will this work with none California spec bikes?
  17. I have almost 10,000 miles on the rear and have about half tread left. The front has about 7,000 and still looks new. I am very happy with the handling and high speed stability. I think I'm going to stick with these. They are inexpensive and IMO just as good as the E3.
  18. Would you be willing to make one of these for me? The 4 carb setup is a pain. BTW do you have a web site?
  19. I had the battery and charging system check and all was fine and I haven't had a single issue since I replaced the headlight ballast.
  20. Yes they do. If you look on the inner part of the clutch they run down the inner side. When I got the first one they provided a replacement without even wanting to see it or for me to return it. When I got the replacement and it was the same I sent a picture of what I was talking about. They did not respond and I had ebay contact them and the the offered the refund. This leads to me to believe that it's a problem and they know about it.
  21. I don't see the point of a crack on purpose, a crack at a screw hole is not good. The second one I got was the same. I sent a picture to Caltric they offered me a refund with no explanation about the cracks.
  22. The smoke came from the ground wire at the battery.
  23. I got this starter clutch from Caltric and it looks cracked at those 3 screws. This is the second one and they were both the same. Do I need to be concerned about this or should I return it?
  24. I have a 4 brush starter installed. It has been rebuilt once and during the last few months it would crank slow (cold or hot) and sometimes not at all (smoking ground wire at the battery). I took the bike to Auto Zone to check the battery. The battery and charging system were fine. As I pulled up to the store I noticed my headlight was out (Opt 7 HID conversion). Long story shot the ballast was bad and I had one from a car setup I bought by mistake. After this I had a good headlight and haven't had a starting issue since. So my question was a bad HID ballast causing my stater issues or should I still be looking at a starter issue?
  25. I reinstalled the carbs today, 1 step forward 2 steps back. The problem cylinder got hotter and it ran better, but still about 50-60 degrees lower than the other 3 at about 145, but I did get the carbs to sync with 10 inches of vacuum. Now the 2 steps back, I either adjusted a float too high or it is stuck:doh:. The starter clutch is done for. I bought this thing off of ebay and replaced it this past April and it has nothing but driveway starts on it.
