  1. Yesterday my bike caught fire. The best I can tell is it was because the overflow tubes were too short and routed incorrectly. There is no body damage but lots of melted wire insulation. The bike will run but the number 2 carb is overflowing.
  2. Did that last month when I changed the diaphragms.
  3. Compression test and carbs were done in January. The sliders seem to be moving slowly that and my poor gas mileage.
  4. That's the last thing I need is worse gas mileage 30-33.
  5. Looks like the Jason mod taken to the next level. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=501
  6. I ordered some NOS carb springs for my 86. The ones I ordered were actually for an 83 part number 41R-14933-00, not thinking there would be a difference between the 1200 and 1300 carbs. The springs are 1/2 - 3/4 shorter. Question is can I use them in my 1300 and if I can are there any issues I should expect?
  7. I would get it rewound and then you will know it's condition.
  8. Is it a 10mm or 12mm with an adapter?
  9. They do make a 10mm one. http://www.gunson.co.uk/item.aspx?cat=673&item=1854
  10. What issues did you have with it?
  11. Has anyone used this to help set proper idle fuel mixture? I am thinking of trying it. http://www.gunson.co.uk/item.aspx?cat=673&item=1853

  13. Yesterday was my first attempt at syncing carbs, I used a 4 vacuum gauge tool. On first connecting the gauges the left 2 cylinders showed lower vacuum than the right 2. After running more they were closer. I got the left 2 done and the idle increased. I lowered the idle to 1k and went to the right side. I synced the right 2 together and the the left and right. The idle increased to 1500. If I tried to correct the idle it would die or surge between 500-1500. I tried several more times to synch them but ended up with the same idle issue. At 1500 all 4 gauges showed 10 inches. It was getting late and I gave up. Today I started the bike, it started right up with no choke and idled at a steady 1000 rpm. My question is do I have another issue and should I try to synch them again? Duane
  14. I have one I bought on ebay by mistake.
  15. If your bike is an 83 you don't have electric anti dive.
  16. I haven't been able to ride for the last 2 months because of a broken ankle, so I have been messing with my parts/project bike which hadn't run since September. A few days ago I was able to get it started and now I want to get it road worthy. The TCI is still functional this is more of a preventive measure. Thanks Duane
  17. Is there anyone willing to replace diodes on a stock TCI for me? Thanks Duane:fingers-crossed-emo
  18. Signal fuse was good. It has an inline fuse from the previous owner. It turned out to be the connector to the dash. They all work now put the tach moves very slow.
  19. Which fuse, everything else seems to be working?
  20. I have an 89 VR that hasn't run since last September. I drained the fuel bowls and was able to get it running, but the volt, temp and tach are not working. These worked the last time the ran. Any thoughts?
  21. Hi Gary do you have an improved fuel MAP? I'm still running the one that you sent in it.
  22. The connectors are behind the headlight.
