Turning left on a red when the light won't change.
Cerviperus replied to juggler's topic in Safety and Education
I've tried looking into the law in Illinois a few times, and always come up empty handed. I've always done the "wait a couple cycles, and go when clear" and have yet to be stopped. However, I'm sure it's only a matter of time, and then it will just depend on what mood the officer is in. Also, as far as magnets triggering light sensors, there's a pretty good, albeit a little outdated, discussion about that subject on Snopes. http://message.snopes.com/showthread.php?t=16531 -
Hazard lights on 2nd gen

I love my bike. -
+1 on the sticky. I keep forgetting about this thread too!

I'm 5'8" myself, and the height and weight got to be more than I wanted to deal with. However, there are others in the same boat, and they don't have a problem. A simple case once again of "to each their own".

If it means anything, my V-Star is the only bike I've ever sold that I regret not having every day. I loved that bike...

The last tire I bought was from Ron Ayers Motorsports (http://www.ronayers.com/). Couldn't tell you how prices compare anymore, it's been a while.

There is a Caterpillar dealer about 30 minutes north of me, nice "blah" yellow colored tractors and combines of various sorts. What's a John Deer?

Bought paint from them for my 2008 Beemer, and it matched like a charm.

Children’s ATV sales banned?!?!?! Feds at it again
Cerviperus replied to CMIKE's topic in Watering Hole
It's about time... I don't know how many kids I've see get lead poisoning from riding small dirt-bikes and ATV's. I'm glad the government is out there looking our for what really matters! Hooray! sarcasm> Really... seriously??? -
My name can be taken off of the list. I have my own copy now.

And the worst part is... ...we don't have a Home Depot.

Name of Restaurant Li'l Porgy's Street Address 1917 West Springfield Ave. City Champaign State or Province IL Website (Optional) http://www.lilporgysbbq.com/ Quality of Food Fantastic Quality of Service Average Biker Friendly? (Parking, Trusted Location, Etc.) Yes Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) Bar-B-Q Alcohol Served? - Additional Comments The best BBQ I've found. Period. Hickory-smoked right in front of you... on actual hickory! Amazing idea isn't it?! This is one of those little dives that you wouldn't necessarily drop right into, but man is it worth it. Every time I make it to Champaign, this is where I do lunch. They have all typical food you'd expect from such an establishment, ribs, pork, chicken, etc. And it's not one of those places where you get a little sauce on the top, your stuff is smothered... including the steak fries. They offer 3 (last time I was there) choices of sauce - mild, mix, and hot. Mix is enough to make my nose water. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is amazing. Parking isn't the greatest, because it's a small place after all, but I've never had an issue. If there is an equal BBQ joint out there, I have yet to find it.

Fine job, sir. Looks very nice. That is definitely something I would have loved to have on my Venture. -

It looks like I'm definitely going to have to pick up Proficient Motorcycling. It's popular enough that I'd heard about it several times before starting this thread, and several of you have all given it thumbs up as well.

I always thought blue was the fastest color...

I was thinking the same thing. I look for my dad to get one of those at some point... if he finds a job that is.

I guess technically it would, since I didn't state otherwise, but I actually thought about that earlier. It would be really easy for someone to grab a picture with a railroad crossing sign. So unless someone is really opposed to me changing the target now, let's eliminate road signs and the like. I was hoping for it to be a "little" challenging, and force people to look for a store, restaurant, etc. with an 'x' in it. I failed to remember how nitpicky the rules had to become to avoid easy outs!
