  1. My girlfriend and I were riding through that yesterday on our way back from Indy. Nothing like windows blowing you from one side of the interstate to the other. The rain I could handle, the wind beat me to death. I slept for a little over 12 hours last night I was so exhausted.
  2. We're headed that way this afternoon sometime, on the way to Noblesville. We'll be staying there for the night with one couple, and Saturday night we're staying on the southeast side, pretty much in the corner of 74 & 465. Saturday will be the day we drop by the track, if we get to at all. It all depends what the other two couples we're visiting feel like doing. Then I think we're headed back home Sunday around 1:00-2:00.
  3. I bought mine at WalMart. I think it was the XL universal size, but it fit like a glove. I had to lower the antennas, but I'm sure that's the same with any cover. I think I paid a whole $20 for it.
  4. I may drop in there at some point on Saturday Would it be worth it at $20 to go in on qualifying day?
  5. Heh... I was born in '82.
  6. +1 on that.
  7. I was coming back home this afternoon from Edwardsville, IL, and brought highway 48 up from Raymond instead of sticking to interstate the entire way. On the way, I passed an RSV running 2-up headed south. Anyone from here?
  8. I created a new thread with this info here.
  9. This was brought up in another post, so I figured I'd create a new post with the info in case anyone is interested. Here is the spreadsheet I give to people when they come to me saying, "Help me I screwed up my computer at home!!" In the file you'll find 4 tabs. Threat Lineup - just a basic overview of the different ypes of PC threats (taken from a Maximum PC article. TechList - the collective list of many of the best websites and free software to get your computer running in top-shape. Safe Mode - many fixes require you to boot your PC into Safe Mode, you can find out how to do that here. System Restore - many threats embed themselves in System Restore, and simply pop right back, after a cleaning, when you reboot your machine. This walks you through clearing your System Restore. The file is an Excel spreadsheet. If you do not have Microsoft Excel, you can download the free viewer here, or a complete Office replacement here. Feel free to move this thread to the appropriate forum, or make a sticky if it's found to be valuable.
  10. Good luck! Keep us updated with your progress... and don't forget pictures!
  11. COMODO Anti-Virus Avira Anti-Virus avast! 4 Home Edition AVG Free Edition There are four different anti-virus suites, all highly rated, all free of charge. The major thing lacking in free versions is the option of live support, and in-depth scheduling of updates. Many of the free ones only offer one update per day, whereas the pay ones automatically update multiple times per day. Critical? Depends on who you ask. All I can say is that I've had more virus issues with the likes of Norton and McAfee than I ever have with any of the free ones. In fact, I use some of the free ones at times to troubleshoot PCs at work that are infected, that the corporate licensed anti-virus (TrendMicro) fails to ever catch or clean. So, to each their own, but if you want some free ones, have at it. Other good programs are: CCleaner SpywareBlaster Spybot Search & Destroy I have a huge list at work of a ton of freebie tools and utilities to keep your computer running like new. When I'm back in the office tomorrow I'll try to remember and post it again.
  12. But... but... but... they don't have the star!! Heh, I have to agree though, unless you're a brand junkie, the ones from JC Whitney look just fine.
  13. I went with everything other than the stereo & CD player, traction control system, and automatic stability control. Everything else is there: Chrome exhaust, clear signals (they were in the package), onboard computer, ABS, heated grips, dual heated seats, cruise control, electronic windshield (standard), electronic suspension assist (love it), and the optional 47litre top box.
  14. Well, I'd said I'd get some better pictures posted of my new bike, so here they are!
  15. Several options here, just depends how much you're willing to spend.
  16. ...sounds like a Cubs fan...
  17. That's the exact reason I opted not to add the OEM CD player and stereo to my new BMW. It was going to add a whopping $1800 to the price tag, and I'd lose my glove box.. I LOVE that thing! Besides, I never listen to physical CDs anymore either. As soon as I get a new one, it goes straight on my Zune, which in turn gets plugged into my Chatterbox. Couldn't ask for a better sound system!
  18. Definitely a significant difference. Glad to hear they're going to get things straightened out for you.
  19. Cassette players are getting harder to find, have to pay more for 'em.
  20. That and a tan color. Meh... they've had better. Also, am I just now noticing it, or is the 250 VStar new to the Yamaha lineup?
  21. The RSV is on there now.
  22. Even though I'm not currently in the market for a new bike (considering I just made the first payment on mine), I like checking out new models. I'll be watching come 2:00.
  23. I find that part particularly amusing.
  24. Hey, Dan... Where did this info come from? I'm trying to find out, because if it's $20 to get in on Saturday for qualifying, I might just drop by. Everywhere I look I can only find the 3-day pass for $75.
