I don't like them. I find myself looking beyond the light because it annoys me. I am suprised that a individual patrolman would be allowed by their agency to give their personal opinion. Shouldn't this be something that is released by the agency as whole?

Hard to believe Clarion would still work on those things. Microsoft stops supporting stuff after 3 -4 years.

Installed Michelin Commander IIs
bmxndad replied to colmike's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've got the originals and have never noticed any tire noise in the turns. I don't want to run the narrow front, but I do want to try the Commander II's. Trying to hold out until they start making the OEM size for the front. -

I can live with 36 mpg running 70-75 mph. Now if I get a little rowdy with the right fist and run 80 plus I will go down to 30 mpg in a hurry, and that is not be unexpected.

Michelin comander ii
bmxndad replied to eusa1's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I am very hesitant to run the narrower front. I have sent messages to Michelin concerning their lack of a front to fit our bikes. I let them know that they are leaving themselves out of a big market share by not having the stock front available for RSV and RSTD. They say that their marketing department is determing what other sizes that they may add to future production. Maybe if more of us email and/or call them they will get the message sooner than later, if ever. Heres the email address: conrel.en@michelin.epowercenterdirect.com Phone #: 1-800-642-4354 Their response is below, January 11, 2012 Hello Ross, We truly understand your concerns and we have forward your information to the Marketing Department for review. Please check back with us in a 4-6 months. There could be additional sizes this year. Please feel free to contact our Michelin Motorcycle Department at the number below to further discuss your concerns. We appreciate your business and loyalty. It is our goal to ensure that your issue has been resolved or your question answered to your satisfaction. If we can assist you further, please respond to this email or call us at 1-800-642-4354 (toll free) between 8:00AM and 8:00PM Eastern Time Monday through Friday or between 8:30AM and 4:30PM Eastern Time on Saturday. Please be sure to let us know what you think of the feel of the narrower tire on the front. Hope you get to find out soon. Ross -
I would. Only bike out there that I can say that about.

What do you search for on e-Bay?
-
I've talked to a couple different suppliers and they are saying that there probably won't be a front tire in the Commander 2 for the RSV.
-
I sure like the original commanders. 30,000 miles on the front and still some miles to go. Any word on when the front for the RSV will be available?

If I felt I absolutely had to pass on a double yellow line for whatever reason. That thought would damn sure leave my head as soon as I saw a bicycle coming the other direction.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TN3MFLwlsEg&feature=player_embedded]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TN3MFLwlsEg&feature=player_embedded[/ame] One of the oldest and most respected motorcycle races in history has been the Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) race. The race is held on the Isle of Man and was part of the Motorcycle Grand Prix World Championships until safety concerns caused it’s removal from the series in 1977. To preserve the race’s status, the Isle of Man TT races became part of the TT Formula 1 Championship from 1977 to 1990. From that point on the Isle of Man Department of Tourism conducts the race as part of the Isle of Man TT Festival. The race started in 1907 and has always been a time trial format on public roads. Between 1907 and 2009 (at the end of 2009 TT races period) there have been 237 deaths during official practices or races on the Snaefell Mountain Course.

I used to have a major gas smell in the garage. It was bad enough that I was seriously thinking of going to a fuel injected bike. (Gold Wing??) Ive done two things that have helped alot. 1. I buy only Premium gas, no improvement in performance or mileage, but no more gas smell. 2. I dont fill it up as much as I used to.

Thanks, Ross Sent: Wednesday, August 31, 2011 8:47 PM Subject: Re: Customer Question / Michelin Commander 2 Hello Ross: The distributors are saying the beginning of the year on these tires. We try to get an exact ETA but none of them can seem to give us one yet. Thank you for shopping at KG Motorcycle Tires

It certainly is a well balanced bike. They are a bit tinny though. Getting back on the RSV, I knew I was back on a real motorcycle.

Strange situation on bike today
bmxndad replied to WAC1972's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
My bike is prone to the gas smell in the garage. I run the highest grade premium gas I can get and that almost totally eliminates it. -
I am sure that out of all 20 Harley riders, there were more than a few that at quick glance didn't know if they were looking at a Harley or otherwise. My guess is they were probably not waving at anybody else. I am not feeling any loss from these kinds of riders. Their loss not ours.

Duluth, Minnesota to Bradenton, Florida. 1733 miles in 33 hours. I was 21 years old so that won't be happening again.

Good Supplier for Side Cover Screws/Bolts

I bought some there too. Thing is I can only thread them in so far. Did not want to force and cross thread. While searching I did notice that is says "special thread" whatever that means.
