  4. I'm putting this one out if there is anyone that would like to take a ride on May 31st. Waterloo is the birth place of Memorial day and the money raised help some local groups to keep going. It was a fun ride last year and they put on a good meal afterwards. If you decide to ride bring your flags, they did hand them out last year, but I don't no if they will this year. I have a small group meeting meeting at my house, then riding over to it. So if anyone else would like to meet us here you are more then welcome to do so. My address is 215 E. Elisha St Waterloo and we would like to leave about 9am. It's just down the road about a mile, but would like to get a parking place to keep us together. You can try and print the form from below, if not I will have some at the house. 5. Route 15 is a very good way to travel. Most of it has been redone to four lanes now. I would take rt 15 over rt 81 anyday. After you get off rt 15 take rt 86 east to corning and pickup rt 414 north to walkins glen. Then rt 14 north to you see the signs for Pen yan. If you need anything while up here give a yell and I'll see what I can do. Nyjerry
  6. sorry can't get the pict's to down load
  7. Tom thanks for a great time and a wonderful ride. We enjoyed the sites and the wine tasting. have to go back to that little town some time in the summer and see if it's a hopping place. I would like to thank everyone for not harassing me and letting me ride with you guys. I have some pict's and will post them when I get a chance. Bull463 I thought that truck was trying to take you out. I could not believe what I saw and you stayed nice and straight. Nyjerry

  10. Hey Big Tom we need to plan a ride out by smileriders area. There's a great BBQ place in his part of the state. I can not remember the name of it right now But I'm sure he knows of it. Stopped there two years ago on a ride and it was great and it also has an ice cream store there. Have a fun and safe ride Saturday, sorry I have to miss this one.
  11. I got mine off of ebay last year and they worked great. But you can buy the pieces from Dennis kirk a lot cheaper. I could not find anyone around here that would sell me the resist caps. Then after I bought them, don't I see them in Kirks magazine. Oh well
  12. Looking forward to see you on your new ride this summer. Guess we can't ride next to you any more .
  13. Hey Bull your not the only one that did not see that post. Sorry we mist this one big tom or we would have showed up. Took the bike out for a couple hundred mile ride around the lakes. We stopped in at a nice little ice cream store and Deb said we need to bring Big Tom there some time. We also stopped in Walkins glen for a little shopping and not to get out of the rain like last time. I'm glad you all had a fun time and a safe ride. Nyjerry
  14. I got progressive for my new bike. they where the cheapest with the best coveage when I checked around. I got my quot on line and also call a local allstate agent and they gave me a quot useing progressive and where a $100. more then the online quot. I guess allstate doen't do motorcycles. I had merkal ( bikeline ) ins. for the last 8 years and payed $80. a year. There new quot was $200. more than progressive. I was thinking it would have been cheaper, seeing I was a returning costumer.
  15. That sucks for us But we will kneel down and say great job Canada Congradulations
  16. come on guys I'm at work. so I'm waiting for your play by play reports. please nyjerry
  17. :sign20:That first gen had to be there first. All the second gens where getting worked on. jerry
  18. First lesson learned. went to put a light in the trunk and had to drill some holes in the top inside cover. Thought it would look good dead center. Now what could be mounted up there, nothing right. Was I wrong ( wires and a nice electrical box for the backrest heater. If it wasn't for a friend telling me to take the cover apart first, I would have drilled that unit right dead center in that box. $$$$$$ lesson's learned check first Jerry
  19. wngrr and eck thanks for the offer and I may get in touch with you guys seeing this is my first wing. I see a lot of people talk about the steering head bearing upgrade. I did it on my venture and it made big difference. One of the first up grades will be the CB radio and a luggage rack. Jerry
  20. Thanks for all the comment and offers to help get the bike there. I am taking condors advise, but feel so much better with words from freebird. I also feel bad because he also has to trust me by sending the money first. The transportation well most likely be setup by John. Painterman67 and wanderer if you do get a chance to ride it, you won't be disappointed in the way it rides. You just can't keep it, only enjoy it for awhile. Now it's just a waiting for every thing to work out and some good weather. If i was him I would fly up and ride it home. Again THANKS for all advise and offers Jerry
  21. I have a person ( John ) from north of Atlanta Ga. who is interested in my venture. Said he is buying it for fellow riders from france who enjoy riding first gens when in the US. He needs to find a way to get the bike home but does not have a trailer. Is there any fellow riders that might be able to help and get the bike to him. I maybe able to get it part of the way. This is early in the dealing right now and depends on how everything goes. The bike is licensed and insured, so riding it is possible. The only reason I'm bring this up on here is, this is where he found it so he must be a member or soon to be a member. Thanks nyjerry
  22. Thanks guys and yes Craig it is pearl white, The H-d is also pearl white and silver. I can only take credit for the gold wing. The h-d belongs to a friend and they are parked in his truck cap accessory shop. Besides his is heated and my garage has to many bikes and junk in it. I'll bring it home when I sell my venture or my daughter gets her vw bug out. Weather up here looks bad for a while. There talking about three more snow storms for this week alone. Thanks again guys and gal's Jerry
  23. The bike is finally home
  24. Well it's been a hard choice for the last two months. But I finally made it and bought one. I would go between three bikes, well mostly two. The basic harley ultra had every thing I wanted with out shelling out extra cash for add ons. The gold wing ride was so nice and power full and felt so light. But cb radio and cd player are all extras. Like a thousand more to fork out to buy all the pieces to hook them up. The venture also had everything I needed like the ultra had. I kept ruling the venture out because of the top heavy feeling and yamahas refusal to listen to the rides and do some upgrades every once and a while. don't get me wrong, the look isn't bad and the price of a left over model is great. But when comparing 2010 venture and ultra pricing. The ultra wins out with them doing upgrades every once and a while. So it was back to two choices again. The harley I thought was a nice ride for me but the better half said it was not all that comfortable for her. The bikes vibration bothered her back and the side rails for the bags were rubbing on the back of her legs. Found out a friends wife had the same complaints. I always wanted a goldwing so the wife said just go for it, witch I did. She's not real happy because she really likes my fist gen and there nothing wrong with it, that I needed a new bike. The abs brakes, navigation system and the ease of changing tires and cleaning of the bike. Besides it's the closest thing to the first gen that I liked. Jerry
  25. Yamaha should make a big deal showing of there cassette player. I'm sure there a hole new generation of young people that would be interested in what one looks like. For the old folks, you ever seen one since in the last century, I guess you seen them all. Yamaha likes to listen and keep up with there fans request. Or maybe the designer of the venture retired or took a job with Kawasaki.
