Welcome aboard reddog. There's a place in Canada to order new replacement slide diaphrams from at a good price. Do a seach on this site and you should be able to find it. If you don't no a venture will not rev up very well, with out the air filter in place and the cover on. Once you get it up and running good you will really enjoy the ride. They are a great bike. nyjerry- 47 replies

Hey Big Tom when you get done with that snow removal you can come over and help with the 1inch of snow we got. what a bad drive in to work it was. We had all the snow plows out tring to keep up with biuld up and salting. I guess everyone most have just moved in to NY this summer and never driven in snow before.

Darn new yorkers always looking for a free ride

Congrads on the new ride. Your going to find first gear is allmost use less (way to low) and it's going to be like riding an automatic. You can stay in 5th gear riding thru town and just give it some gas, be up to highway speeds in seconds. I have 14,000 miles on it by tomorrow and that's from april till now. All it's had for service is the two oil changes and rear gear oil change. What i like is when at a stop you can have all the electric stuff on and not be worried about the battery draw. The wife doesn't like all the space between us now. Have fun with your new ride. nyjerry

Tom I've been wanting to go there for about two years now. Just keep forgetting to plan a trip that includes a stop there. Would love to meet you for lunch, but we have a wedding to attend in the late afternoon. We may try and make time for a morning ride to Naples for there grape festival this weekend. A grape pie may taste good. Have a fun time and will try and meet up on another ride some time.

Big Tom it was nice to meet up with you guys for a short ride. Hope Tater had a good time meeting her long lost family member's When we left you at Sodus point, We went back to the other side of the bay to Conley's cove for dinner. The wife's been asking to go there for the last two years now.Had a great meal then road east to fair haven to check out a cookie shop but it was closed. Glad you guys had a safe ride home. Nice to Ken with a new ride that fits him better from what you were saying. no more loud exhaust to listen too. P.S I think were heading to Pa and the Poconos in two weeks, for a weekend of sight seeing and shopping. Been trying to talk them in to a trip to see the wild elk in Pa, But that does not turn the girls on as much as shopping does.

I second the 303 stuff, use it on the whole bike and it really makes the seat leather stand out.- 26 replies

That's what my 87 did and I could never figure it out till the the pump finally failed all together. It's hard to find the problem when it happens out on the road, you think it's fuel but then again it could be electrical. Next thing you no it starts and runs great. I would just change the pump and be done with it.

Everything that tom said and more. I just turned 10,000 miles on mine for this year and it has the rattle as if something is loose in the bags. All is tight, might be the tool pouch or stuff in the trunk that I put in compartment. The bike feels like the rear end has to much slack in it or the transmission when shifting. I miss the gear display, some times I forget to shift down when coming to a complete stop. I have taken off in third gear and the bike only dogs down slightly off idle. Tom is right about the cornering, when you use counter steering to corner it's like the bike is on a train track and it can't fall off. you will also like the power output of the alternator and not discharging at stops.

I've got a wierd question
nyjerry replied to Dragonslayer's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
From what I remember there is a position just before that one that lets you lock the forks with out the parking lights on. -
I put all the baker air wings on mine and would tell anyone on a budget to spend the money for the mirror wings first. They are a must have and I would love to have some thing to fill in the gap between the windshield and mirror when you raise the shield up. My next buy would be the lower wing by the crash bars. To me they take a lot of the heat away on hot days. At first I did not think they did much until I broke one and road with only one on. They make a nice pocket of dead air and its not hot air either. Just my two cents. Nyjerry
