Collector noise.
cliffno350 replied to loehring's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I gutted my collector by lifting the bike with an atv/bike jack as high as it would go and then setting the bike on jack stands front and back. Then I cut a large square out of the bottom of the collector with a die grinder, pulled all the loose baffle screen out with pliers (some pieces were stubborn) then welded the cutout piece back on, never having to remove the whole thing. It gave my bike kind of a turbo muffler sound but I have the MAC slip on condor got for us. I haven't noticed any negative results in the way bike runs or spark plug fouling after 3000 miles. Hope this helps... -
thanks Rocket thats what I need for Juans bike his are all faded.

gas leak first probly, float may have small piece of debrie, drain float bowls completely turn key on and toggle kill switch a few times this should pump a bit of gas through cabs and flush out debries. now close float bowl drains and put air box on bike will not run any where near right without airbox and filter in place. try this aand see where your at, you may have to drain floatbowls a couple times or more to clear float needles.

Hes had her about 4 years rides back and for to work pretty much every day (5 miles each way) and goes on rides with wife and never hammers it, oil change every 2000 so he may never have 2nd gear problem.

This site, nah family is awesome and in part has restored our faith in humanity. I wish I could help everytime something is needed but I can't always. So I do what I can when possible. I personally believe this is how our country used to be and can be again if we elect Don for President of these United States. FREEBIRD FOR PRESIDENT!!!! All kidding aside, we would just like to thank Don and all the people that help him do what he does.

I havent had one of each in my hand at the same time but I do know K&L have different part number for the xvz1200 and the xvz1300 and the xvz1300 is about 13 bucks cheaper. the 16 I ordered for us should be here today or tues, and I plan on pulling one out of a buddy's parts bike and compare, see if the new 1300's will fit properly in his 1200.
