I think I'm with you Bongobob, if what I have will last 25 more years I'll be happy. I told my Yamy dealer that if the new Venture was 4 cyl, water cooled and efi I would be in to put my money down, didn't happen. But then again if I found my old '74 RD400 I might have to re-think my position!!

dfitzbiz I resemble your signature............... Flyinfool, I had a meeting one day with a client and a representative of a software company. The software rep explained the system and the safeguards in place. The client said that makes it pretty much "Fool Proof!". In response the rep says "Nothing is fool proof to a talented fool!". I wish I had been the original author but I can't take credit but it sure does make sense! I'm happy to share it with you.

:rant:As Americans nearly all of us appreciate our constitutional way of life. There are some living here that just don’t believe in our ways. I don’t know why but they choose to stay. All are welcome, some we would prefer to have closely investigated prior to entering our country. Naturally we see our government, intelligence agencies, military and police as our protectors from threats both foreign and domestic. Obviously these fine agencies can’t completely protect us from every malcontent, terrorist, lunatic or just plain criminal out to do us harm. Typically what I do is assist these fine agencies by providing some security on my own. I have a close family member that is a LEO supported by his wonder dog Rocco. I have complete confidence in their ability to fight crime. Even with all of their training they know that when seconds count the police are only minutes away. It’s those minutes we need to be prepared for. I only hope that when my home and loved ones need protected that I’m prepared to do the job. Thanks for letting me vent!

You sure did Bob. I've always been a problem child with a short attention span. Now let's see, did I change my reservation at the Chaffee Lodge? I think so. It's the 10th right, no wait, the 17th? OK, I'll ask my wife, she keeps me straight. At any rate we will be there. Can't wait!

RockinRobin, Thanks for the reminder. My RSVP must have been deleted when the date was changed. This may have happened to others also. We are looking forward to getting together again.

Uncledj, Maybe you should put this on the calendar.

Just bringing this back to the top of the list. Time is short.

Uncledj, Reserve a bed for me, I'm in. Wife changed her plans to a dance concert but I'll head north. Sinnemahoning is about 3 hours from me. Let me know details like what you would like me to bring. Looking forward to it. PM to follow. Fitz Just a bump, this post disappeared after I responded to Uncledj.

Voted: Yes, if Cruiser styling with 4 cylinder but it would have to be water cooled and have all of the goodies!

Twelve years ago, when my daughter started hunting at 12 years old, I bought her a Remington Youth Model 7 in 7mm-08. I loaded it with 120 gr. Hollow points. She has taken a deer every year since. I’ve had an opportunity to use it early on and really liked the light recoil and the knock down ability. I liked that little gun so much that I purchased one for myself in the adult model. That has since been passed to my older daughter and a few years ago I purchased a Model 700 SPS in 7mm-08. A new son-in-law began his hunting career with us and he is also outfitted with the Model 700 in 7mm-08. Son-in-law number 2 came along and upgraded his Savage 243 to the same Model 700 in 7mm-08. That makes 5 7mm-08’s in the family all shooting the same 140 gr. Boat tail load with similar and very good accuracy. I had been hunting with a Model 700 BDL in 7mm Mag. Since 1970 and Freebird is right about the recoil, straight back with no muzzle jump. The old 7mm Mag. Shoots to kill but kicks to cripple. I won’t let my kids or grandchildren shoot it. When things get down to the wire and I need a deer that old 7mm Mag is my go to gun. She just jumps into my hands, comes to my eye and is on target. A sweet heart even with its flaws.

Check out Skydoc17 in the member vendor classified section. Good battery at a good price.

The bracket that the rod attached to on my Husqvarna had the tab bend where the rod attaches. Finally broke off. Symptoms prior to breaking were as you described. You can get to it by removing the right rear wheel. An ATV jack works fine for this job. Pretty simple job once you get started. I had my original bracket welded at the local shop. PM me with any questions. Fitz

For a nice 1 hour trip I would suggest Rt 271 out of Johnstown over the Laurel Ridge to Rt 711 North near Ligonier and then Rt 56 East back to J-town. For a longer ride I would suggest Rt 56 (East or South?) out of Johnstown to Rt 30 west at Bedford to Rt 259 North that is just past Ligonier then to Rt 22 East to Rt 56 (East or South?) back to J-town. For a relaxing trip home take Rt 403 north to Rt 36 at Punxsutawney, PA to I-80 at Brookville, PA then on to Cleveland. PM or call me with any questions.

There are 2 Rotella motor oils that are used by the members of this forum. Rotella T6 is a synthetic 5W-40 and Rotella Diesel Oil is dino 15W-40. Both can be used in your RSV. Search “Rotella” in the forums and you will find a great deal of info. I have used the synthetic (Blue Bottle) for over 100,000 miles in my RSV’s with great results.

Could be air in the system. Chevy 3.8L V6 has a vent plug to clear the air out of the system I don't know about the Ford. Take a look at this site Air in cooling system - F150online Forums Good Luck!

Avon Venom--80,000 miles since 2007. Never an issue, great handling and wear. Average 24,000 miles on front and 14,000 miles on rear. I ride 2 up often and I am a large man. -
