  1. I bought a small hand pump at the H-D dealer, didn't even cost a hundred dollars.......................Just half that much. Works great and very easy to adjust with the push of a button to reduce pressure if you add to much. Also very easy to pack in the foam holder.
  2. Ride with a friend if possible. There is strength and motivation in numbers. Keeping an eye out for someone else makes the miles go by quickly. Gold Bond Powder to keep you dry. Beaded seat, a butt massage every time you shift position. Drink plenty of water and stretch often. 750 miles on an RSV is only 3 1/2 tanks of gas, not even a full day. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Just Checking!!
  4. I believe the Roadsofa is custom made to fit the rider. I purchased a used (like new) seat and I'm sure it was made from cast iron and padded with gravel. I rode it for about 100 miles, 85 of them with tears in my eyes, and sold it cheap. I do hear good things about the Roadsofa, just be sure it is made to fit someone your height and weight. Good Luck!
  5. In today's economy new wives ain't that hard to find................................
  6. I saw this posted at Riders Edge Yamaha in Gettysburg. It may be of interest to some visitors. http://www.gettysburgtrips.com/
  7. Thanks to all for the input. I believe I will try the re-torque route first. Fitz
  8. The head gasket on my '99 RSV is leaking anti-freeze from the front left corner where the cylinder block meets the crankcase. I removed the cooling fin to confirm this. This only happens when the engine is cold and it appears to seal up when the engine warms up. Can anyone tell me if you can change the head gasket with out removing the engine? Can the head bolts be re-torqued by removing the cylinder head covers? Any assistance will be appreciated. Fitz
  9. Randy, Thanks for setting this up. Rose Mary and I will be there. Do you need any help? Fitz
  10. We stayed at the KOA just outside of Deadwood. Rented the Kamping Kabins. Nice place, clean. We have been to most of the places mentioned above. One addition I would make is the Devils Tower.
  11. I use a beaded seat pad. Lets you vent and gives you a butt massage every time you shift your weight. Should be about $20 or less. Picked mine up at Wall Drug a couple of years ago. Be Cool!!
  12. Be sure the gas cap is on tight. That can cause your symptoms. Good Luck and Merry Christmas.
  13. A South Central Pennsylvania delight, the stomach of a hog stuffed with sausage, bread filling and diced 'taters then baked and sliced. Sounds weird, tastes good!!
  14. Very nice, great color combo. Just a couple of Pittsburgh Steeler Stickers and the job will be complete!!! HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!
  15. I use two different processes. When I have the time I use BikeBrite (www.bikebrite.com), spray it on and high pressure hose it off, chamios. Shines like new. When I'm in a hurry I go to the car wash with the hand held wand. Spray it down with pre-soak, high pressure soap (from a respectable distance) and rinse (also from a respectable distance). Wipe with chamois or microfiber towel. I take it easy on the electronics and speakers but they do get a good rinse. Never had a water problem in 68,000 miles. If your washin' you ain't ridin'. Fitz
  16. Take a look at this site. http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200330803_200330803
  17. Craig, I'm interested but Saturdays in the fall are not good for me. This is hunting season you know. How about a Sunday? I really enjoyed the ride last Saturday. What a great group. Keep us posted. Fitz

  19. I just replaced mine on the '99 a couple of weeks ago. Step 1. Remove the seat. Step 2. Jack up the cycle until the rear tire just touches the ground. Step 3. Disconnect the air valve by the seat. Step 4. To get to the top bolt, remove the passanger floor boards. Then the painted "oil tank cover" from each side of the battery compartment. Then the black plastic cover to the rear of the "oil tank cover". You will need a swivel extension for the socket but it isn't to hard to reach. Remove the top bolt. The bottom bolt can be reached from under the cycle. To reinstall, you may have to lift or lower the cycle just a bit. This wasn't a hard job. Sorry, I don't have pictures. Call with questions. 717 873-7992 Dave
  20. Deal me in! I will contact the Chambersburg crew and see who we get. I will also mention it to the new Hanover Star Touring and Riding Group. Firm up the details. Let's Ride!!
  21. I use a beaded seat pad over the stock seat on my '99. No burn and great ventilation. You get a massage every time you shift position. A back rest helps alot also. Keep your butt moving. Fitz
  22. I have an '99 and mine looked just like that. I changed it out just yesterday. I was lucky. When I asked Riders Edge Yamaha in Gettysburg, PA to order me a shock they hooked me up with a used shock from an '05 that they had converted to a Trike for half the price of a new one. It only took me about 20 min. to install. If you need any advise on installation PM me. Fitz
  23. I run a stock seat, not a pillow top, on my '99. I have added a back rest (that I fabricated with the assistance of the little lady) and a beaded seat cover. 10-12 hour days are not a problem. Every time you shift position you get a butt massage from the beaded seat. Be sure to shift position often. I think the back rest helps alot when it comes to shifting positions. Lean a little, sit up straight, slouch, recline, etc. Keeps the pressure off of one spot and keeps the blood flowing.

  25. Be sure to ride through Custer State Park. Check out the wildlife! Leaving Mt. Rushmore towards the town of Keystone, the first little restaurant on the right as you enter town had some great bar-b-que buffalo ribs. Also ride the Spearfish Canyon, very nice.
