I cannot beleive that you missed your perfect cue for the best idea in the world. Turn the Bills stadium into one very large Ice Cream sundae, with hot fudge and caramel on top, a mountain full of whipped cream, some extremely large sprinkles, and a cherry on top that is the size of a VW bug. Now that is one large ice cream sundae. BigTom, why didn't you think of that ?

I give a lot of respect for Aaron Rodgers and the Pack. Love that team, and the town. But in the NFC, I have to be faithful to the Seahawks. BTW, the team that had the LEAST amount of points scored against them this entire year...the Seattle Seahawks. 243 points scored agaisnt them in all 16 games total. Recognizing that the Broncos are on an 11 games winning streak, and the Redskins are on a 7 game winning streak...let's not forget the third best winning streak out there right now, the Seattle Seahawks have won 5 in a row. And in their last 4 games...they have scored 170 points, against the opponents 43 points. The 12th man lives !

Down in Oz...wouldn't that be a fiscal hill, rather than a cliff ? Happy New Year to you also.

I will second that emotion...Go...Seahawks & Vikings... BTW, the Seattle Seahawks are the only team in the NFL that finished the regualr season undefeated at all home games. Guess that 12th man really does make a difference !

BT, it is wetter and more damp in western Oregon, than it is in western Washington. When it rains here...we call it Oregon Mist. You can have more than 5 acres if you want. That is just the minimum. Where I live, up on a hill, the zoning is for a minimum of 5 acres. Some folks have 10 to 100 acrs. And we are all surrounded by a 750 acre Environmental Preserve, called the Hernett Foundation. It circles around the backside of all of our properties. (psst) that is where Bigfoot lives), but don't tell anybody. And...you and I can open our own private ice cream factory, where we make our own ice cream, and we eat all the profits.

Condor, I 'was" going to make a smart a55 comment about how in the northwest we call those things a Subaru, as that is one of the top selling vehicles in snow country. But, then Stroker Ace had to one up me by posting a video of the Subaru version of the snowcat. Dang...foiled again !

Well, I was hopeful when I first read this, that your ride around lake O...was around lake Ontario. That would have been...cool ! Riding around lake O in Florida is nice too. Great pictures. Nice to see people out riding.

Don, I was discussing this subject with my wife yesterday, and, as I told her, I predict that Facebook will be dead and gone within 10 years, and that Facebook stock will be worth less than zero by then. My wife and I do not have Facebook pages, we do not text people, we do not use Twitter. I can understand the "use" of these tools, however..(just my opinion)...I believe that in time people will find that having all their private information posted all over the Internet, sent to millions of unwanted friends, is just more than they had hoped it would be. The concept of Facebook was neat...in its' moment. But that moment has passed. In time, the masses will finally understand that it is NOT cool to blast the public with your private information.

Given the above stated scientific research, I would ask that BigTom "please" move over to live as my neighbor, so he can bring the snow and ice cream with him. I love snow, and I love ice cream (maybe a little too much). BigTom, I am willing to pay 100 % of all of your moving expenses, and to assist in procurring you a job or equal or better employment than you currently have, if you will move to western Washington, live next door to me (it is out in the country, so you will have a minimum of 5 acres, possibly more), and...bring with you all that snow and ice cream. Scientific research cannot be wrong

BigTom,. if you HATE snow so much...why in the world do you live a little east of Buffalo, NY.?????? Not only does Buffalo get lake effect snow, but at your house you get it even worse. Why not move...to a place where the weather suits you? I have lived all over the world, in 30 different states in this country, and in 18 different countries. I live where I do now, because I like the weather. Ship all of your snow over to my house, 3,000 miles away. As for riding sidecar rigs in the snow, we just did the snow ride to hell and back going up to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. I had fun on those BMW sidecar rigs with all studded tires. If it were not for the -30 degree freezing fog in Fairbanks, Alaska, the trip would have been perfect.

That is great that you are all done. And I see that you decided to forego the front fender. Yeah, those just get in the way...anyway. You did say, "and the front end of the bike back together". Hmmm........

Man, I agree with that 100%. That is a real pet peeve of mine, nails not being driven into the supporting wood. I do the same thing...go looking for nails that have not been driven into the joists. That pis&es me off. Call us two old fuddy-duddies, but a job is either done right, or it is done wrong.

CaptainJoe, maybe we can start a forum quartet. Sort of like a barbershop quartet, but we have to ride motorcycles, and like plywood. And...we can all use the icon:backinmyday:
-
Joe, I rear the entire attached article, and it confirms why I will only use plywood, and never use OSB. I do a lot of outdoor projects, building large chicken coops, building feed barns, building machine sheds, etc, and I will only use exterior grade, pressure treated plywood. But then again, I live in the Great Pacific Northwest, and we do have moisture in the air up here. There will never be a drought problem where I live. After retiring from a government job of 26 years, I spent the next 5 years doing structural inspections on commercial and private buildings. I have seen a lot of problems with OSB. I would rather pay the extra money up front, and have it done right, than to have to pay money a second time because the product failed 5 to 10 years down the road.

Replacing brake lines per maintance schedule recomendations.
Miles replied to dingy's topic in Watering Hole
Sorry, but I wear my bikes out before it is time to replace the rubber brake lines. -
Jeff, I am really into old houses. When I lived in Vermont, our house was an old pre- victorian, built in 1858. The town was so small...(how small was it)...that the homes had the date they were built on the front of the homes, rather than a street address. The postman knew where everyone lived, so you always got your mail. If you get a chance, would you PM me a picture of the outside of your house?
-
Jeff, I am wondering why you chose to have the roof done, in the Winter? (hey now, it is just a question) I would have gone with option # 2, but would have requested they use 1/2 inch exterior plywood, rather than OSB. I have a serious dislike of OSB, and refuse to let any contractor use it on my buildings. What kind of shingles are they laying down?
-
Yes, give him my e-mail, and have him post to me. I did a full rebuild of the front brakes on my '82 Silverwing Interstate. Miles

Patrick, what parts is your friend looking for? I had a very nice '82 Silverwing Interstate, pictured here: I may have parts that he wants.

Real farmers use a John Deere. Those that aren't...use a Case.
-
I picked this one up 4 years ago, and brought it home the day after Christmas. Hid it inside the garage, and when my wife came home she opened the garage door, and...surprise. She was all for it. It is a 2005 JD 2210 with front loader
-
Oh, yes...nothing runs like a Deere !
-
Don, may there be a brand new snow plow with a big red bow on it, waiting for you in the garage.
