No the rear end didn't lock up..... I'm with you never seen a tire do that...
-
There has been numerous discussions about tires on VRO over the years. But I wanted to share mine. I wanted to try avons and I did. My front tire sidewalls cracked with only 3k miles on it .Now to my rear tire, it had a little over 7k miles and tread was still good everything is ok. A week ago today we left out for North Carolina , long story short Tuesday we had a blowout on the Avon@ Clingmans Dome near Cherokee, NC. Now understand when I left this tire had plenty of thread left....It also stranded me on the mountain and 75 miles from our hotel...I was lucky to find the wrecker driver I did, he went above and beyond what was required, he helped us find a shop that had a CAR tire that would fit and told me if it didn't work to call & he would drive us to our hotel ...Me and the shop owner worked 3 hrs geting the car tire on & seeded & sealed ( that's a whole story in itself)... NEVER again will I buy AVON tires...

Raider does NOT shake.... very smooth....6 speed should get better MPG.....buddies have a HD & Victory they both get over 50 mpg (so they say) .... The only time you would notice air cooled vs water cooled would be stop n go traffic... I hope IF they do make another venture it will have MORE HP!!!! now don't get me wrong I love the V4 ... BUT as it is now it's under powered imho..

3rd Annual trip up the Natchez Trace. Loveless Cafe
midnightrider1300 replied to midnightrider1300's topic in Watering Hole
my wife LOVES the trace.... easy pace, no 18 wheelers...we ride it 3 or 4 times a year.... -
this pretty much WHAT the rep said....he also said that 90% of market is made up of USED bikes and that touring is only a very small portion of the 10% that is left and that Yamaha had to do what made sense.... ALSO foreign market was much bigger on motorcycle and they are what is driving the market...

as many of you know I work in sales at a motorcycle dealership. The Yamaha factory rep came in yesterday and I just point blank asked him IF there was a Venture in the future. His response was YES. So asked more what he told me was a little shocking... Stratoliner, roadliners V-max and a couple more lines were history.... he said look for a touring bike in a V-twin 1900 with push rods it will be a touring /cruiser much like the venture/tour deluxe...He said that it IS in the works, Yamaha is still being secretive ... BS from a rep? time will tell ....he said it Venture would be out in OCTOBER .... (not holding my breath) price range was $20,000.00+

because Mobile Homes is some peoples only avenue of owning a home... The Government has their noses peoples lives as it is without tell them where they can or can't not live..IF you gonna stop people from parking a mobile home in a spot, then why let some1 build in tornado alley? truth is you can't tell where a tornado is gonna strike in these areas.....
