  1. Thanks everyone... I got a good idea on this oil change...I more than likely will change the 1stone at 3kmiles or less,WHY because when I drained the old oil out it was BLACK...and I don't know if it was synthetic or dino...OH by the way I use K & N oil filters , IMHO I think it is as good as any filter on the market....the oil changes from here out will depend I guess on shifting and how it looks in the widow...I do know oil last a lot longer than it did back in the day...our cars tells what percent is left, it will go 6-8k miles depending on driving conditions .....
  2. thanks guys, I do value your input
  3. why the title... i knew it would be... but I value each opinion...
  4. I've been changing the oil in my bike like most of you here. Today I tried something different in my new bike. Rotella T6.... now for the worm part....how often do you change synthetic? 3k ? 4.5k ? 5K miles???
  5. glad you are ok Bikes can be replaced, you can not.... best of luck & God Speed in your healing...
  6. I got a mr gasket for the old bike, did a few mod's on it but worked great and never had any over flow .. $29.95 vs $300 + ...no brainier...
  7. Well when I 1st got my old bike I dumped my wife and me twice in about 1 mile...first time crossing the median, it had a big slope, I hit it an an angle put my foot down and it keppt on going.. wife was all in my ear so i made a wrong tirn went to do a U turn pants leg hung the heel shifter and I dropped us again..needless to say that was an unpleasant trip...I said all that to say this, it depends on where and how I stop...on flat ground I use rear & front break 1 foot down... on incline I use front break both feet... like others gravel, wet spots also plays into it.. and yes my wife still rides with me....
  8. A lot more than either :backinmyday:of us would care to purchase at one time..... lol
  9. The dealership I work for is going to sell the Slingshot, not ALL Polaris dealers will carry them...They WONT be in showrooms till late October. My GM & one of theother salesman got to ride them & they said they are every bit as fun as the video makes them out to be.... CAUTION most dealers including the one I work for is going to ask $1000 over MSRP. My advice is WAIT till some of the new wears off. The one thing Polaris will have over the Can-Am Spyder is that Polaris does abetter job in engineering. Can_Am has recalls on recalls..... lol While I'm plugging we also sell URALS lol
  10. ok i've rode the bike 3 different times since adjusting the idle back up, NO backfiring...somethings I just can't explain.....
  11. well my 05 backfired some ... my new bike did some , but then all of sudden idle was to low it wouldn't idle it'd die that's when the backfiring started...
  12. best I can tell it has helped tremendously..
  13. so far since I idled it to where it suppose to be... it's NOT popping(backfiring) like it was when idle was to low...I"ve rode in town, on the road speeding up and slowing down trying to get it to backfire....it wont.... time will tell ..
  14. Dont know yet, but when it idled at proper RPM it wasn' as bad will let u know when I ride i

  19. UPDATE.... OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Tishomingo man is now charged with DUI-manslaughter in a traffic accident Wednesday on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Prentiss County. Rangers says Donnie William Sartain, 49, made an appearance before a federal magistrate in Oxford Thursday. He is charged in the deaths of Pauline Demers, 56, and Gerald Nault, 56, of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Court documents say Sartain was impaired when he was driving his pickup on the Parkway near mile marker 289 around 4:15 Wednesday afternoon. The truck crossed the center line and collided head-on with a motorcycle with Demers and Nault on board. The two died at the scene of the accident. Sartain was taken into custody after failing sobriety tests and registering above the legal limit on two seperate breathe tests. Rangers say more charges could still be filed in connection with the accident.
