  1. well on side stand you would not have lost oil. Never thought to mention that will just drip a few drops unless its to full. Be the same amount to break the old ones loose. set wrench to what you think will break one loose if it clicks before coming loose add some to it.
  2. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?491-Barnett-Clutch-Installation just the first two steps will get ya there and back
  3. once you take it apart or say open it up will become simple to do. made a big difference in my first gen there are pics of how to do this on this site. did you order gasket replacement
  4. well have a lowered bike. So I need to build my own stand. Has to be close to bike so it don't drag. Any pics of add on stand on second gen with brackets on bike. That would give me a few ideas to try. Heat up enough iron and garage may get warmer. Will have to make it hug bottom of bike with legs. Want it to just get tire off ground. If I have to change tire will have to be a gopher. Don't have air shock anymore on bike.
  5. prayers up. and good vibes. don't know what else to say thinking of you and yours
  6. I'll try this again I'm back just like a bad penny
  7. Well I'm going to try to stay away for a while. Find something else to take up the time. So talk later this winter I hope I can do this.
  8. there is always 3 good storms here. We have had one. There are some little one but they don't last. This ice is a pain today.
  9. when I bought mine new they wanted to know weight of rider if two up and do you tow a trailer. I tightened it up a good 1/4 of a turn before installing. Was a little rough till it settled in. Make shure to install where the adjuster for rebound is easiest to get to. FORGOT to mention was on second gen

  14. Well I have decided its to cold to go out. Got me a 12pac of cheep cheep beer. So if no one shows wont matter. I've talked to myself before and answered. LOL WHAT. After a few beers ill be out cold. zzzzzzzz:255:
  15. face shield good coat and gloves. You don't have to set land speed record. may be colder riding in one direction i.e. wind blowing snow. I have rode where my teeth was talking when I got home. Naughty teeth.
  16. Ok if your not into getting stranded and having to fix on road. There was a old article on buying a motorcycle for under 1.000 bucks riding a 1000 miles. You can replace tires, battery, and brake pads. every thing else except gaskets has to stay true from bike. You can add sundry parts to your hearts content. We would have to figure where to stop and start stay at a motel after 500 miles. at that time figure all the break downs you went through one with the most wins a gag prize. one with the least gets a ribbing {cheater} maybe a t that says that. lol The bike just has to be from the 90s or older. I will have to sell my van so I can join in. So need time to do that. WHO WANTS TO BE STRANDED?????? What ya thunk is this stupid. I cant help it cabin fever.
  17. All I can say is its going to hurt. I ended up installing a winch to control in and out. Put a bolt hole through ramp into latch hole on van then strapped ramps to receiver. Don't think I told any one but after going sliding down ramp backwards and loosing shoe and hitting the ground hard. I tried again got three fourths the bike in. The power on back wheel kicked ramp out with being tied to hitch. Had to hold bike teetering till my other son got there to help his dumb old man. Get a wench and pin ramps leave chance alone. The truck box end comes up real fast. O by the way can ya fly. After winch install think I loaded and unloaded like ten times by myself no problem. Be smart dumb hurts trust me.
  18. when I had my 83 would die the same way. stuck my hand into the triple tree and wiggled the harness boom fixed for a short time. but made it home. The wire to main fuse was chewed on by my pet I never knew I had. and one wire was rubbed through on the neck would touch ground.

  21. Well ended up having to fix a truck. We did manage to get it in a building. Had to replace 2 oxygen sensors then after all that the battery gave up its mission. I'm still cold. Now supposed to get warm enough to snow again.
  22. you have to hold the buttons down for a while. Takes them a little time to wake up. Can you see air pressure reading. There are some connectors that may need reheated because of crack in weld. Take cover loose and play with wires on plug see if it makes contact. In the tec write up it should show it. WELCOME you may as sign up there is a lot of write ups and personal help here. I haven't had a first gen in a few years.
